Ted's Dolls Update

Season 3 started with TD27 back in September. I never expected there to be a 5 month release gap between TD33 and TD34. I had a vague idea of where the season was going but no idea how it got there. It was the week before Easter when I finalized the stories for Season 3 part 2: TD34-TD39 + interlude 6. I have to say, these next stories are darker fare than I usually write. The characters put through the tightest wringers will remain in the laundry until Season 4 hopefully washes away their dilemmas. (Laundry? This metaphor sucks.)

Interlude 6: Winter Break is over 8000 words and still growing. There are still two weeks of winter break that have nothing happening in them. I've broken it up into two parts and those parts are still bigger than the average TD story. When I decide Interlude 6 was winter break, I didn't know how dark Season 3 was ending. At the same time, I'm trying to avoid creating an obstacle and resolving it a couple days later. Sigh.

While writing these stories, I found a lot of timing issues with TD31. When Jane is in the now named city didn't work for the interweaving of the various plots. Tomorrow will see the release of TD31: Jane 4 - Revised. It extends Jane's time doing her fashion stuff for the sake of when everything that follows not all happening at once. Is any of it strictly necessary? Probably not.

These stories bring Ted's (et. al.) first semester at college through to final exams. I hope when I plot out Season 4 I spread the stories out so it doesn't take 40+ more stories to get to Summer Vacation.

UPDATE (4/24): Not really an update for you as much for me. I first wrote this post before Easter. This part was written after Easter. I have TD40 done and TD41 half done. Season 4 is underway. Technically these two parts are still part of winter break. I'm hoping the Spring semester starts soon.

I wish I could talk about it. I crushed a few of the characters as Season 3 ends with no idea how to rescue them. And then this morning, I figured out the angle and I should have figured it out a month ago. It is rather weird when the creation surprises the creator.

SIDE NOTE: I'm on a vacation the last two weeks of May. Disappearing from my normal life on the 15th. I'll be on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea. So, stories should still come out here. I just won't be responding to the avalanche of comments left on my posts. :)

RANDOM FACT: The TD series is over 125,000 words at the end of Season 3. Stories whose title contains "Emily" are over 30,000 of those words. And that's just titles. It doesn't include the various Jane stories which Emily has some featured moments in. Or any of her other random appearances.

UPDATE (5/14): I haven't touched anything TD since the update in April. I suppose this means at least 5+ months will pass before Season 4 of Ted's Dolls happens. No big deal. After TD Interlude 6 part 2 rolls out, there is plenty being released in the Saturday release slot. I've added them to the master index of stories.

There are 18 more in the "finish soon" pile. Not included I'm With The Band 4. And I have a sequel to Dude Gals already. It follows Oscar/Rita's story. I'll probably make another for Terry and Trish and one for Allen/Paula. (And I thought Sister Bros would have a sequel first.) Either the Oscar story is "complete" or the three stories will be combined into "Dude Gals part 2." Unsure at the moment.
