Master List 1.35
Added 2024-12-01 23:00:03 +0000 UTCAll right, I've started posting things in the new 2024 format now, so lemme just get a couple things asserted somewhere central for easy reference:
The adventurers use a special format of their own that's going to be a smidge different from anything else. They're made to serve a very specific set of purposes that aren't usually relevant to monsters, and the format is there to serve those.
The format is almost certainly going to shift again in February. There are a number of things I don't care for about it, but I'm waiting to see the full MM so I have more context to formalize a new standard I'm happy with.
Collaborations:
That epic level adventure I've been working on with Scott McClintock is being edited now, so there might be some movement on it soon.
I'm also working on a single-target support class called the Goon with Kevlar Cat (co-creator of The Wrestler), which is all about helping one specific member of your party succeed at the expense of yourself and everyone else.
Oh, and The Red Quills illustrated a naturalist's map of my home game's campaign setting; if you want to check it out and see the process of its creation, you can find it here.
Stuff You Should Check Out:
Skate Wizards. It's what it says on the tin; if you want to run a one shot about the Blue Wizards throwing a brick through Saruman's window and challenging him to a skate competition to save the Fanghorn community center, this is your game.
Slugblaster. If you want to try a more serious game about skateboarding wizards, Slugblaster is a game about being a teenage disaster in which you incidentally skateboard through magical worlds being rad as hell.
Tactical Breach Wizards. This one's a little light on the skateboarding and also it's a video game, but don't let that put you off. This is the most fun I've had with a tactics game since the 2016 XCOM, and the writing is funny and beautiful and heartbreaking.
Upcoming in December:
Finishing up the 2024 Adventurers this month, along with a couple of end-of-year surprises. Well, they're surprises if you're not in the Discord. I'm bad at surprises, you see.
