It's hilarious that the showrunners (D&D) didn't want to extend the show and wanted to wrap it up as quick as they could because they had been offered a Star Wars movie, and then that project got canceled in some part due to how bad the ending of this show was received by fans and critics.

True but also kinda understandable GRRM hasnt released another book from the series since 15 years or smooth and it may never come out. Also it isnt the last book of the series so the last book most defenitely wont come out in the next 20 years

yeah the poeple in charge were horrible. they kept george completely out of the loop, he even flew out and begged them to extended the series and make it 10 seasons because there was enough material for it and it would be a more enjoyable experience for the viewers, and they turned him down. their excuse was that they were tired, and they wanted to move on from game of thrones. such a shame considering im my opinion its their best work. casting and everything else was great.

I understand that, and every person is entitled to their opinion about a story or a character, that's why at the end of my first message I clarified that that was not really me trying to say how you should feel, but rather what the intent of the creators was. That way you could base a "final judgement" of this character by taking into account both your personal feelings towards her AND the creators' viewpoint. But no, don't worry I wasn't upset, it just threw me off that names and insults were thrown so loosely over something so trivial. So yeah no problem, and I apologize if it came across as me trying to dictate the way you should feel about Cersei, it was much more a response because of some people who seems to misunderstand Cersei a little bit.

ok first off Im sorry if i upset u over that comment, however I have some very strong feelings towards Cersi and I want to state that I did not deny any misogyny and I do not condone it. YOU need to understand this is entirely fiction my friend and if it were real life I doubt Heisuten would be acting the same way.

Here is both George R. R. Martin, the creator, explaining that this type of punishment was directed at women to "break their pride", and the showrunners proving exactly what I said, that the intent of the scene was to make you gain a sliver amount of sympathy for her, so no it's not supposed to make you feel good, and I don't know which people are you talking about because I've almost never seen anybody root against Cersei in this particular scene. I have also not defended anything she has done, but she didn't "deserve" that because it is one of the cruelest things on the show so far, and definetly more cruel than she ever did (even though she did a lot of cruel things). In conclusion, you shouldn't call me "snowflake" or "weird" when YOU're in the "wrong" and YOU should not be watching the series if you deeply misunderstand it the way you just did, whilst being so sure of yourself it's almost comical: https://ew.com/article/2015/06/15/game-thrones-walk-of-shame-cersei/

Just to net you know, After this season there were no books to cover so they just did whatever they wanted. I think season 6 still has some good Moments but it isnt compareable to the first 4 seasons and with season 7 the downfall really starts. Still, maybe you can enjoy it, there is still some good Action and shit but I hope one day George R R Msrtin finishes the series with how he wanted it to be

nah fuck dat bitch u a snowflake. She deserved every bit of what happened to her, she is lucky to be alive and you forget she CHOSE to confess. The bad shit happening in this episode to her is to more than likely there at all to give the audience a lets say "good" feeling. She has been built up as this absolute monster in every aspect, and this is everything catching up to her and its satisfying to see to the majority of this shows audience. In conclusion you my friend are weird for defending anything bad happening to such a character and should not be watching this series if ya cant handle it.

RIP my boy Jon Snow you will be missed, Arya never misses with her revenges! and Cersei totally deserved that, it was her greed that drove her there

Bro what misogyny? You literally see the high sept (a man) do the same kind of walk in the beginning of the season. And she got what she deserved for putting fanatics in power just to overthrow the Tyrells

I think you geniunely are one of the first persons I've ever seen cheering and laughing during Cersei's walk of atonement. I don't know if it's just a misunderstanding of the character or you just don't think it's a disproportionate punishment, deeply rooted in the misogyny of the church and the people (actually what the show is illustrating here), for what she has done (nothing other characters haven't done, except for being a bitch). I just think saying "It's exactly what she deserved!" or "I'm so happy right now" is very disturbing, because this is literally the moment in the show where Cersei is supposed to gain a little bit of sympathy from the viewers, that's what this scene/plotline is for, because of the clear unfair justice she's going through (which is only for adultery crimes), it is not in any way wrote or framed to be a happy scene for the viewers. At best shows a misunderstanding of everything that's going on the screen. It didn't punish her for her actual crimes, instead enduring a mysogynistic (mysogynistic because everybody knows a man wouldn't have to make that walk) punishment that only reinforces her world-views, thinking of herself as a constant victim that doesn't get the recognition she deserves because she is a woman (like she said to her father), which will probably lead her to seek an even greater revenge in the future.
Just wanted to clear that up, I don't know if it helped with her character or anything, but well...
No shade at all though (that was not my intention if it's percieve that way), still loved the reaction!

Keep that same energy towards the Targareyns. They have we'd brother and sisters for generations. Danys parents were litterally brother and sister. Marcella wasn't gonna be mad at it after spending time in Dorne.

Yeah Season 5 finale, can't wait to see how you react to the next final because that one has major payoff for the last three or so seasons 😁
