I know the intent is to watch the movies afterward, but remember, Naruto: The Last Movie is cannon and occurs I believe between 479 and 484 (480-483 are filler). If you skip it before continuing with the series... Certain things will have occured seemingly out of nowhere, so make sure you watch that movie at the right time instead of waiting for after.
