I mean, real world deepfake videos are scary enough for social destabilisation, but imagine if a fascist authoritarian had an army of shapeshifters to replace any world leaders that they felt like. Shapeshifters individually irresponsibly playing around and being hedonistic is comparatively much less disturbing.
