2024-10-02 14:53:53 +0000 UTCLike DC I voted for the red headed stepchild topic. I know nothing about the subject, but I do admire persistence and feel it should be rewarded.

2024-09-30 22:38:02 +0000 UTCI am curious about United States Navy personnel other than medics that served as combat troops in the Pacific during WWII. Also the inception and use of Frogmen in the Pacific since it seems like they are vastly overlooked as compared to the Italian and Japanese. Thanks Drach, keep up the good work as always

2024-09-30 16:40:23 +0000 UTCI agree, it is the kid never picked for the football team. The logistics of getting them over to Europe, different gauge tracks, all before they even fired a shot…

2024-09-30 16:00:21 +0000 UTCMy Great Great Grandfather was a shipwright in St Helier on the isle of Jersey. He immigrated to the USA shortly after the US Civil War, responding to advertisements for master carpenters & other trades. My guess is that he saw the writing on the wharf regarding Iron ships and the demise of traditional wooden sailing vessels.
