The one time I was there I was stuck in a bar waiting for my connecting flight and was wonderfully amused by a Scotsman who was (unsuccessfully as it happens) trying to hide from his harridan wife before they went home to the UK! It was the only bright moment in that flight...

As a longtime airline pilot, I feel your angst and loathing for O’Hare; it’s the only airport in the world even close to JFK on my most despised list. As you say though, I’m sure that U-505 was well worth the hassle; it’s my very favorite thing in Chicago!
