Because that's really what they are from the outside, just Rimuru's subordinates bullying some weaklings. No need to feel serious about the fights themselves, the important points are dissecting the Seven Day's plans. 'Daemon Lord' is also often known as 'Demon Peer' and I personally prefer that name so it is less confused with 'Demon Lord.' It is also worth noting that pretty much anytime a human mentions the term 'Demon Lord' they are referring to 'Demon Lord Seed' level beings. This is because those that have reached the stage of True Demon Lord have been mostly inactive for hundreds of years. True Demon Lords are pretty much just mythical monstrosities at this point for humans. The 'Demon Lords' that humans know the best currently are actually Valentine (the fake), Carion, Clayman, and Frey (all Demon Lord Seeds) because they are newer and have been trying to expand their influence in recent years. So most humans have no real reference for how strong an actual True Demon Lord is. This is also part of the reason Rimuru is so often underestimated by human nations. Because he is very new to the scene, they assume he is like the Demon Lords that they know best. They still believe he is a being that should be feared, but far more manageable than something like a True Demon Lord.
