Q&A I noticed on the photo you used when discussing the use of wood in dry docks that where the wood block was placed there appeared to be a corresponding space on the hull were the riveting changed, would this be an area that was specifically reinforced for the support block, much like cars have reinforced areas on their frames for jacks, are there any more examples of such naval engineering to facilitate the maintenance and repair of ships as opposed to their combat ability?
