One point to nit pic. The majority of American cruiser and BB used 3-gun, not triple gun turrets.

In my very early career in the family business two of the projects I was involved with were the supersonic Harrier which the government cancelled the engine and air frame development for and the TSR2. The TSR2 was at least 10 years ahead of the US designs, who were ahead of anyone else , they did not want anyone to be ahead of them and blackmailed the HMG into cancelling the project (many engineers physically wept at the destruction of the jigs and tools to make the aircraft, vandalism on a dramatic scale). The Harrier was private funding for the most part because the RAF & RN said that they did not want the plane and initially refuse to buy it because the version they were offered was sub-sonic.

Sweet. One of the moments I look forward to each week. Staying up late on Friday on the Pacific Coast of Canada for Drydocks to drop.
