Part because it has been passed down in the family, which would be easier with the building owned or rented in the company name, and partly because it just does not feel like a business that would just rent space, especially with the rogue AI lab. It could be owned by her uncle, but she would probably patch that loophole when she forced him to sign the contract.

When they stop jury rigging scraps together and start having actual infrastructure. Speaking of infrastructure, who owns the old Cold Moon office/lab? I know she blew it up, but...its still property. Does she own her Uncle's apartment? Next role the Shiro Squad should fill is contract lawyer.
