Dev Notes 11: Sharpest Tool

Yo. Welcome again to the dev notes. 

Finally I finished the script and revised it deeply. So I already started implementing it to the game.

One of the biggest issues so far with the game is that the live2d models (Those fancy sprites that moves on the visual novel side of the game) loses their arms when they change the pose of them. Which kind of brings annoyance to the player. While these feedback were minimal, they feel to me that were still way more than other issues. So I'll be looking into experimenting a new way to implement these live2d models using an already existing one and just tweaking these conflicting parameters. I already have an idea what I should be changing for months now but never feel like looking too deep into it since more important stuff was due.

So If I succeed on finding the solution I should be expending like 1 to 3 weeks on it, since I need to change how fundamentally these existing models work. Here I'm talking about how memory loads the model. Currently the models only load the visible parts. If I apply the changes the model will load the entirety of the model with all parts, but only make "visible" the needed limbs. But this new method has another possible issue aside from a huge memory usage. (So far the game consumes around 400 mbs of ram, yeah. Not much I know) but this could possible scarlet to more than 800 mb's which puts in danger my mobile player base. 

Everyone should be using phones with 3gb+ by now right? 

Not much art this month. And this one is not even finished. Been mostly concerned with writing! Boring I know! But the results should be worth. Oh this image should be like a promotional art for later so I better do it right.

Oh also I been doing a collaboration with another artist so more content on that later. I always had a strong admiration to this artist and having him agree to collab with me has motivated me a lot.
