As always, I’m here with the down low on the capes. Praise me.

Anyway, I won't mince words: Something set Menagerie off, and not in a "Haha, let's see what crazy thing he turns into next," kinda way. He turned into a tyrantrum and threw a tantrum(heh) on the ABB. By my reckoning, he's been hitting mostly brothels, but also casinos and a dive bar that also had sex workers.

What's strange is that he didn't completely obliterate everything. Some buildings got left alone altogether while others were torn apart brick by brick. Also, tyrantrum is definitely a geokinetic, and a scary-powerful one at that.

There's a lot more going on and information's still trickling in, but this is what happened. Discuss.

EDIT 1: The ABB obviously didn't sit still, and neither did the Protectorate. The Protectorate tried to talk him out of whatever this was, but Menagerie kept going until Oni Lee and Lung arrived. Oni Lee was engaged by Lady Photon and Laserdream while Menagerie took on Lung directly.

Edit 2: It’s over. Long story short, Menagerie won after turning into a creature called a "salamence." There is a crater in the [trainyard] and an even bigger one in the [nearby forest].

More news. Oni Lee and Lung finally responded. Laserdream and Lady Photon are taking on Oni Lee. Menagerie is taking on Lung.

Please be careful, everyone. Either of those fights would be a good reason to stay out of the way.

And yeah, he does. It's thought that he has to wait roughly a minute between forms, which was why he went to [xXAtelier_AlpacaXx] for that armor, just in case he has to throw hands without his power.

That shift did seem a little fast though. And yeah… Maybe he doesn’t need the armor and just wanted a nice fit… I don’t know anymore.

As funny as bullying Panacea is, the battle is over. We now know that the blue dragon Menagerie turned into is called "salamence." Also, Menagerie [literally delimbed] Lung.

On a sidenote, Lady Photon and Laserdream took down Oni Lee with a bit of help from the heroes. The ABB is fully out of capes.

I guess we can stay tuned for the PRT announcement.

Nope, not really. There are a few smaller gangs that never had any capes, or had one weak one. They mostly survived in the E88-ABB era by keeping their heads down and paying tribute to whichever major gang was closest. I'm not sure if I'd count them though.

If by "gang" you mean "gang with more than one parahuman," there are still two left: the Undersiders, and the Archer's Bridge Merchants. The first specializes in quick robberies and the media likes to call them the "Masters of Escape" because they like to be sensationalist about everything. I don't think anyone needs a primer on the Merchants.

That's because you haven't. The closest was shortly after the S9 left Brockton Bay. The Teeth got slaughtered, almost to a man, and was forced out of the city. Marquis was forced to withdraw from most of his territory to lick his wounds. Same with the Empire. The ABB wasn't a thing yet and neither were the Merchants.

It was a brief lull in gang violence that came about because everyone was sick of fighting. The surviving factions had to figure out where they stood, reestablish territorial borders, build up supply chains, recruit more people, etc.

But even then, the heroes were just as devastated so it wasn't like they had an advantage against the gangs. This really is the first time that the scales have been so lopsided in favor of law enforcement.

Can confirm. The blonde babe with jazz hands is supposed to be Lady Photon. The default laser is purple because the original version of the game came out years ago, when Lady Photon was still trying to start a national “no masks” movement and did more PR stuff.

The devs carried a few core characters over in each new release of the game: Triumvirate, Narwhal, Dragon, Myrddin, and a few of the more well-known independents in the country.

Looking through the data I have on him, I have a few more candidates:

Arcanine, the [goodest boy]. Menagerie used this form to [drown Hookwolf in the ocean like an unwanted kitten]. He also shattered the sound barrier and beat Hookwolf & co. in less than ten minutes before going back to the hospital to heal like nothing ever happened. People legit thought he went out for a smoke break.

Metagross: This [iron spider] thing. Menagerie used this form to take out the Empire almost single-handedly. I know no one on the Empire roster was rated with the same threat level as Lung, but I feel like quantity definitely counts for something, too. Also, he twisted Hoookwolf like a [balloon animal].

Speaking of obscure forms, I found out that Menagerie visited Los Angeles. I'm 90% sure it was him anyway. The PRT's keeping very tight-lipped, even from their own network, but Menagerie took some people out in the [middle of the highway] yesterday.

Then, a few hours later, this [owl-penguin-robot] was seen flying over LA. Alexandria went up to meet it, after which it gave her a giant snowball. I'm not sure what that was about, but I'm pretty sure that was one of Menagerie's forms.

Tbh, I don't. That's why I said I'm only 90% sure. I read through several national and local papers across the country and I didn't find any news about tinkers.

Given Menagerie arrested some people with what I think was a [cryokinetic ghost] of some kind yesterday, I'm assuming the snowball-carrying bird was him, too. Maybe it was some kind of prisoner dropoff.
