Cristy, the Discovery Channel show you were trying to remember was called Mythbusters and they did recreate the fall from the plane in the life raft using a crash dummy. My memory is a bit rusty but I believe they found if you landed face up you had a very slim chance of surviving. So they called it a BUSTED!!!
