Lester Banks was a real person, " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Bangs" and I was a teen in the 70's and this was realistic. You will be surprised how independent kids were in the 70's and it started young. We weren't an in the house generation, we did so much outside sometimes miles from home, and having a bike was freedom.
