I saw them ( 1 & 2 ) without knowing X-Men stuff and they were still funny. DP is essentially immortal as the hand growing back indicated. Yes the Deadpool comics are like the movies ( I've read some via Amazon e-books ), Deadpool is aware he's a comic book character and doesn't take things seriously. And as they were sort of showing in the movie, that bar is where mercenaries hang out as a kind of jobs for mercs service ( the comics show it mainly super hero type characters taking jobs ). "I'm no hero" as he said. Part II is also fun. As John mentioned, you maybe didn't see the after-credits where RR does some humor. Rule for Deadpool movies is read the opening credits, and wait for post credits fun after the end. Oh, the music choices for p. II are also great. Ken
