When I'm asked to draw a character I've never tackled before and usually it has a body design that I'm not familiar with, I'll do a deconstruction of said character's proportion to essentially "translate" it into my own style. This is an example of such a case.
I have in my commission queue a couple of Judy Hopps pics so I went ahead and drew this reference before actually getting into it, plus it serves a double purpose: Inform and ask "design approval" by the commissioner and creating a visual resource I can reference in the future if the opportunity arises to draw this character again.
