Controlled Burn Episode Discussion
Added 2022-09-25 14:59:01 +0000 UTCAs we build up Adorkable Twilight and Lawrence's adventure, we zoom on back to the house with Spike and Pinkie Pie, who is still doing her cleaning services. Spike being so laid back about things, pretty much offers Pinkie a day off. But Pinkie has a moral code to abide by (a good one). Outside of the totally random Apple Cobbler cameo in the background of panel three, (seriously, they are super random. Search her tag while looking up our comic on Derpibooru) Pinkie decides to work outside. In doing so she discovers the moss growing between Twi's yard and Amethyst Star's and burns it.
This has no real consequence... except you know... burnt yard. It doesn't really do much to the plot as Amethyst will still have to decide on how to confront Patricia. Twilight originally wanted to burn the moss, and what do you know? It happened anyways!
Nothing overly deep in this one. Just characters having fun together and Moondancer knowing just what to say at the right time!
One interesting thing was the timing of this episode with it's content being about fire and the title being "Controlled Burn." As we released this, unexpectedly, the media hype in the news was wildfires in Europe and Northern California. Oops. Luckily no one seemed to care.

2022-09-25 23:48:01 +0000 UTCI don't know the European fire season off the top of my head, but it's always a good bet that there will be a newsworthy fire in California at any given point in September. At that point it normally hasn't rained in six months and won't start until October.
