Red and Gold (A Section - Second Half)

Okay let's go! If you're feeling good with the first half (posted last week), it's time to take this one for a whirl.

I think this part is fairly intermediate in difficulty. On the one hand it is high on the neck at points, and moves around positions a fair bit. But also it's not super fast or anything. The point of the part is to be melodic and catchy, so it's not about melting faces or anything like that.

Pay attention to the phrasing. Stuff like when to slide and applying the right amount of vibrato are a huge part of getting the sound right. The bends are very deliberately chosen for a certain sound and sass they provide.

The trickiest thing might be the legato figure at the end (5h6p5p3h5). One tip that has really helped me with legato is to keep your fingers as parallel to the frets as you possibly can. This will allow you to be optimally aligned for the moves!

Chord progression is:

Am            E              F     G      A
Bb             F              E              A
Dm            A             Bb     C     D
Eb             Bb            C             C           D          D

One interesting thing is that the latter half of the chords (and melody too) are the same as the first half, but transposed from A minor to D minor. It's mostly just a result of writing long winding chord progressions that lead to surprising places.

TAB is attached. As always, drop any questions down below!
