Red and Gold (A Section - First Half)

Continuing through Phobos IV in chronological order - here's the first melody from this banger smash hit. Amazing that it was #1 on all the world charts for so many years!

This one is a long melody that evolves over many chords. I'll put them down below for you. I always think of chords as musical moods basically, so a long string of them like this makes things feel like a big adventure. At least that was the idea when making the part.

There's a lot you can focus on here. Maybe it's simply memorizing the part, maybe it's figuring out how add a good vibrato to help make the part sing. It all depends on your level of comfort and where you are with your playing.

This melody actually continues for a second half, which I'll post next week as well. So get this down and drop any questions down below!

Right up there with Typhoon Turnpike for catchy melody lines! Definitely one you can sing along with. (Sidenote, I wonder why singing parts first makes them easier to play with musicality on instruments, it's the same on my euph too...)

Krissy

I remember seeing you play this live at Madison Square Garden on the Red Russet tour in '87. Epic!
