Brainstorming a new tier

Yo!

How's everyone doing today?

I'm currently brainstorming some new ideas for the page. We're thinking of introducing a new tier with either one or both of the following benefits:

- Guitar solo TABs + in depth video lessons (in addition to the riffs we've already been covering)
- Livestream guitar Q&A. Ask that burning question on a technique and receive an answer.

Trying to gauge how many of you all would be into this.

Or, do you have any other cool ideas you'd like to see us try on the page? Feel free to make a suggestion!

You should do what kind of gear that you use (guitars, pedals, amps, etc.) and maybe how to dial in tone for each song

Solo's I really want to learn, maybe a few tips on songwriting and composing would be cool, as vague as that could be.

I can’t wait for that shred lord their to be unlocked. Really want to learn some solos!!!

Q&A would be cool. I have some gear and gigging questions I’d love to ask to help out my sound and hopefully music career if this dang ‘rona virus ever goes away

In case you decide to break that vow of silence here's a refresher on how to say Mars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbplgycoeTM

I would like either of those options!

Both sound like great options! I think I lean towards the live stream just a little bit more however!

Ooo yeah, Phobos drawings would be a cute idea! It’s wild that twrp hires lazerhorse for all the designing stuff when there’s already a perfectly good artist in the band lol! But in all seriousness posting some of your doodles would be cool. Maybe not for a paid tier, but on your instagram/insta-stories, or maybe doing some doodling on your live-streams on twitch. That of course, would depend on how comfortable you are with people watching you draw and if you would enjoy it

Sounds great man! Would love anything extra you want to put out there tbh! Even stuff like 'Phobo scribbly drawing or dance-move lessons' :D Fun extras is great!

To quote Rick and Morty, “You son of a bitch, I’m in”

If i could weigh in for those of us beginners, I think the in-depth videos feels like the more attractive option. I personally am still pretty slow at this and appreciate the ability to pause and rewind. However, knowing that you can't cater to the beginner crowd, the livestream would be super rad (as long as it could be archived for watchers to catch later lol).

I think the solo thing is a no-brainer! Thanks Casey!

I'm here for both those ideas! I've definitely got a few questions about general playing stuff outside how much fun I've been having with your TWRP-specific lessons, so I'm specifically into the idea of a Q&A livestream and would 100% upgrade to a new tier for it.

Thanks Danielle!

Seconding the Q&A idea, that opens up a lot for exploring technique and maybe even stuff like how to use an amp properly. And also seconding the tone tutorials idea.

Both sound great! I've always loved every single one of your solos though, and would ABSOLUTELY love to see you play them up close and explain how the god of fingers blessed yours to give you such WICKED shredding abilities! Either way, I will most likely get the tier!

Loving the flexibility of the Livestream Q&A option. Both are great ideas

I love both of those idea! I probably can’t afford them right now bc ya know, times are hard. Gear posts would be cool. Each post could focus of a different guitar or other piece of gear you own. Another idea is to do looks at non twrp songs. Maybe in that tier you can take suggestions from subscribers to do a bit of a specific song. The higher tier things don’t have to be posted as often, so if your worried about running out of gear, post those less frequently. I hope you’re doing as well as you can be in these weird times. If I come up with anymore ideas, I’ll be sure to let you know :)

Good question - would focus mainly on TWRP/NSP/Phobos stuff, and could answer questions on guitar technique, theory, writing, and all that jazz.

Livestream Q&A would be excellent! Honestly I'm in for any of the above. Would you be mainly interested in focusing on TWRP- or Phobos I-related content, or is anything guitar-related on the table?

Shiro

I agree! It would be great if you, Phobos, could do tone breakdowns on particular songs.

I mentioned this in an old tutorial video I think but I would personally love to see a gear walkthrough/tone tutorial on how you get different sounds for different songs and albums!
