my main confusion is that, regardless of goals, wouldnt going to the wall and staying at the wall for winter be a death sentence because of the white walkers. I didnt understand why they weren't bringing that up as the main reason (or at all) not to go back and garrison there

The conversation after laying pipe was "On the day of the great games, gather all the great masters and wise masters and worthy masters you can fine and slaughter them all" she replied "I'm a queen not a butcher" Daario said "All great rulers are either Butchers or meat" Good advice. Then in the fighting pits, the reason he said shut up to Hizdhar zo Loraq was because he was about to say "Clap your hands". Daario realised Jorah being there was a big thing and wanted to leave it for Danny to decide. Maybe i'm wrong but thats my understanding.

Neither silence nor lies were an option. [I gave her] a handsome young man. [I have the same gift for you], a handsome young man". (I paraphrased a bit as it was a back and forth convo) in S03E05 The guy (Olyvar) who ratted on Loras Tyrell worked for Littlefinger. So Littlefinger knows of a witness to send Loras Tyrell to prison. So Olyvar appears as a witness to Loras' preferences in partners (technically he lied under oath, as did Marge - thats what they were charged). - I think that Hizdar was going to say "your grace, you must clap your hands" and Darrio said "Shut your mouth" because he knew Dany was going through a lot and didnt want this wimp to make a sound, let alone tell her what to do. - (S04E09) Battle for the wall, 6 seconds between Oly's power pose and Jon running to Ygritte. Not sure is that says anything but figured I'd add it

2024-08-27 20:41:47 +0000 UTCWhen Stannis/ Davos talk about winter, I interpret it as their first priority is still the iron throne, but they also see it as the best way to stop the White Walkers. Even though Stannis/Davos believe the White Walker threat, they also believe the best course of action is getting the Iron Throne before winter so they can prepare, not giving up the war. Whereas the people at the wall think that everyone should forget the other house squabbles and focus on saving the world lol. Before Team Stannis found out about the White Walkers, Melisandre already believed that Stannis was the chosen one and was chosen by God to sit the iron throne, so I think Stannis also believes he is destined for the Iron Thorne, and then by extension destined to save the world. So IMO, in the convo during ep 5x7 when Stannis says "we've lost" if they garrison at castle black, he is still referring the iron throne, not saving the world.
