2024-11-20 13:14:10 +0000 UTCWhat is most interesting to me in this episode was the convo between Eren and Reiner. Eren reveals that he fully understands Reiner and the reality of how Eldians are treated in Marley. He says he vaguely remembers saying that he'll make them suffer and die the worst way possible, as if that doesn't matter to him anymore. It really shows that Eren isn't here for revenge. He sees everyone in Marley as people and is about to commit this rampage with that mindset while believing there is no other choice. Imo, this is what makes the scene so dark.

There are some sleek transitions that you can easily miss, for example when Reiner says he's sick of himself and wishes for Eren to end his misery, the scene switches to Tybur who says "But I do not wish to die". There are more you will notice on your second watch.
