There is no Night King in the books and is a made up show character. The Night King in the show has not been introduced.

In S02 he and two others were saved from burning alive, and Jaquen told Arya that the red (fire) god needed three lives. In S02E10 Jaquen speaks only about being from Braavos (where Arya's dancing master was from) and about being a "Faceless Man". Braavos is mentioned in the S02 History & Lore - S03E03 Messande (Dany handmaiden/translator), S02 Dany Targ, the slave owner was shocked that she spoke Valerian. - S03E06 Thoros. Thoros says after "could we speak the common tongue, my friends dont speak Valerian". - This Episode. Darrio after learning he is the one who will assassinate Dany Targ
