Video: Experimental TikTok about GitHub Copilot

Who here is on TikTok? I'm experimenting with it a bit, here's an attempt at a video about misalignment and GitHub Copilot!

My impression so far is:
- 3 minutes is a little limiting, but not bad at all
- the on-device editing tools are no good
- but, the shorter format has lower expectations and might make it easier to make a lot more videos with less perfectionism

What do you think?

In my (limited) experience, I find that my friends who watch tiktok vids (even the ones who might be interested in serious topics) don't go to tiktok for complex/serious stuff (they scroll past). Maaaaybe if it was packaged in a punchy way, you might get something across. (Showcase the specification gaming again? Showing that we get what we ask for not what we want? Showing that AI can be very "smart" in that they find hacks/shortcuts?) But as Dylan said, I'm not sure investing time in this platform will have as much of an impact as your investment into YT vids.

The video was nice, and I expect it could be a way of getting alignment content in front of more people - however, I personally won't be signing up for TikTok. Also, I still think the impact of your YT videos is bigger. I imagine content on TikTok is more forgettable because there is such a flood of it. Maybe you could help get the ball rolling, but honestly I can't envision there being enough (good) alignment-focused TikTokkers to satisfy the algorithm.
