Cerene Origins Update 04 - more anims, concepts, Demo early next year

Ok, it's been a while since my last update, so I want to go over what I've been working on, the state of the game and updates I've planned over the next few months.

I've been very busy over the last weeks working on new ai tech. Ai animation has made huge leaps since I worked on it last about a year ago. With a lot of craftiness it's almost possible to produce near Hollywood movie quality, except for one thing: sex animation. Over the last month, I've explored every model, every service, every fine tuning method currently in existence and I've hit the frontier of what AI can do. I discovered that even quality sex animation is kinda sorta possible, but not to my standard and not in the hyper realistic art style I'm going for with my game. So I decided to venture forth in actually developing my own workflows and even totally new tech. So I've been grinding my teeth on dozens of different approaches and I am getting close.

And that's the reason I've been stalling the update. I wanted to show off my first sex animation tests, but I'm still not there yet. So instead I'm dropping some more concept art and general animation tests. Attached find a clip with just that. I also made the first piece of music with AI. Hope you like it :)

I'm featuring some characters from the human faction, I'll go into lore and background later, but If you look closely you'll notice that these girls were tapped by the fairy of boobs... that particular region is known for titties of all shapes and sizes, meaning very large, extremely large and insanely large. You've been warned :P

I know that the ai animation still comes with a bunch of glitches the more kinky it gets, but as I said, I'm pretty close to finding a solution and I've already achieved better outcomes with my latest tests and models.

Two more important things to mention:

I'm moving the demo release to next year. The sex animation workflow will likely take me another 2 months to prep, this will push back the demo as well and all other work including 3d animations. What I want to do instead is reschedule and announce a new date early in the year. Sex animation is the highest priority for the game and once I have it I'll be able to post sex animation a lot more frequently, that's my short-term goal.

And secondly instead of posting big updates, I'll be dropping smaller updates that will involve experimental stuff more frequently. Gives me a chance to explain more of the inner workings, show off more concept art and animations and get more immediate feedback.

Awesome leap. Visuals are extravagant. One thing I did notice was Cerene’s wrist looked dislocated wresting on her outer thigh. I will see if I can spot anything else. Keep up the good work

hands have been solved for stills at least, if you see issues then I've just overlooked it animations can still be a problem but around 25% of the time they come out usable

The quality is outstanding. There is still something fishy going on with the models hands in some cases, which is a tpyical AI error, but the whole thing looks really promising

I am sure this is a repeated question but will you ever go back to just releasing image sets/mini animations? In addition to your other endeavors I mean. Fan Service is one I was really excited for. Also, at this point anything from Bloodcrown would be awesome. Whether that's an image set with anims or something like FH. I Personally would love just an short movielike BL and G4Ever.

I start with a concept that I like and then I generate every piece of armor individually that I want if necessary, like in this case, pretty much. So we're not at the whims of the Ai here, it's put together how I wanted the armor to look... I guess I'll show a before an after with the next update. And I use 3D animation to guide the AI, I'll show some examples in the updates.

Good. Explain to us how you're using it, or are you considering it a trade secret? So far we're just seeing random AI fabulations. I don't care about skimpy. Cerene's initial getup in Bloodlust is perfect for her imo, and even if you put more armor on a girl/futa I still expect to see cleavage and some skin in the upper legs/belly area. I'm talking about AI not being able to finish a thought and actually giving the girl in the water an actual thong. It just put some bikini like ornament above her ass but forgot to link it over her pussy to the front lol. I'm talking about the weird additions on the belt of the girl with the white wet top. All right, fair enough. The pink haired girl and the beach futas were really not fantasy/medieval like. Good to know you're not aiming for that look. So humans are just girls, not futas (unless they get the treatment Sophia got from Cerene)? The music is ok I guess. Not my style and seems to have a lot of gibberish in it, but that's AI for you. Please for the game don't do any modern style music :D. I look forward to more updates. Hopefully faster than once every 2 months. Look, in the end I don't care what you use to create stuff. I just want you to do it and release it. You jerked us around for 5 years with the next Bloodlust, refused to release what you had ready for that and seem to be in a half-decade long period of just changing scope and focus. Fucking release something. It will never be perfect and you will always be able to do better. Just release when it's good enough and go from there. Iterate and improve.

Well I really think it's time you show us what you can, because even without my general dislike of AI stuff this has been a pretty underwhelming development process for us. So for use of 3D, I presume you're making 3D animations, not to complete detail and using them give a basis for the AI to generate stuff? You definitely need to show more, if you're not willing to explain your process. Again the stuff you've shown so far looks static and unusable in the big things that we're expecting from you. I'm not sure AI is the future in animation. It will definitely be a tool, but I think it's inherent flaws will keep popping out. Getting that realistic image will always be marred by AI's "brain" farts since there's not mot intelligence involved. Just a lot of copying. Myself I'm thinking the way to go will be game engines, but we'll see. As long as we get a good product I don't particularly care tbh. But right now we're getting slop.

No, 3D animation is still heavily involved with my new workflows. Dude, I get complaining about skimpy armor for a "realistic" medieval game... but seriously... having said that I'm all for variety and some girls will be head to toe in gear. The last few characters were just for fun, basically when the music changes. Well I go what ever brings the results and that right now is a blend of 3D animation and AI, imo, but check out the next tests and let me know what you think. Oh and what did you think of the first musical piece?? :D

Yes, I've been saving Cerene's concept as I'm honing my AI skills, but I'd be shocked if she's not my best version of her and obviously I'll be posting concepts for feedback first. Na, video generations is still in it's infancy. We're just scratching the surface. OpenAI may be stagnating a bit, I'm not even sure Sora's going to be state-of-art by the time it comes out, but if it's anything like their DaLL3 image generation model, it's going to be too censored for fun usage anyway. But that says nothing about the rest of the AI model market, which isn't slowing down.

Yes, AI animation is the future for sure. But interestingly enough AI animation just happens to be a more direct approach of what I originally wanted to achieve with 3D animation. Not possible just yet, but over the next couple of years...

I'm saying it's capable of near Hollywood quality, but no, I wasn't going for Hollywood quality with the clip, otherwise I would have created something scripted. My clip is a strung together series of tests, but I'm sure you can see some glimpses in terms of the general quality. You have summarized the general draw backs with the current tech fairly well actually, mainly in terms of interaction, but that's where my new approaches enter the picture, which resolve most of what you mentioned. My workflows still involve 3D animation, that might be a clue. I'll hopefully be able show first test next few weeks, this year still. I'll try start dropping stuff more frequently for feedback. I'm 100% convinced AI animation is the future. Looking pretty and nice idle boob physics is just the start.

my goal was always around 95% realism, regardless of which medium is required to achieve it, I'm just going with the tech that shows the most promise... it's obvious that this will be AI, so that's what I'm using, but 3D animation is still an essential component of my workflow, so it's not being abandoned and I still think 3D gaming will probably be the last domino to fall... so it's going to be a good few years yet, imo

This turn to AI is extremely disappointing. The output is unnaturally 'bright' and fake-looking -- like all the other AI dreck now being posted on Slushe. And you never even bothered to post the rest of the FH sex animations (for the benefit of Patreons who weren't interested in the 'game' action). Such a shame that you've abandoned your roots -- and your subscribers -- in this way. Can't see renewing under these circumstances . . .

If you're moving to AI sex animations does that mean that Cerene Origins is now a completely 100% AI project? No 3d rendered sex animations? Perhaps you should drop the 3D from the Affect3D name... The girls all look nice, but since it's AI some of the clothing doesn't feel fantasy-medieval at all, or like clothing at all (like the thong of the girl with the waterfall, wtf is that supposed to be?). Especially the pink haired girl in the latex top seems to be in a modern day room. In this setting are there supposed to be futa humans? Or is this only a vampire thing? Or are futas just a magic thing and both humans and vampires can do it. Why is your research into AI delaying all other work, including 3d stuff? Didn't you tell us for years that you were building a blender team? Have those people left now that you're getting high on AI? If they're still around maybe let them actually do some 3D work so we can actually have some content that we can look forward to. At least it's good you'll post more frequent updates. Disappearing for 2 months and then coming back with pretty much more of the same (i.e. concept stuff) and a freeze on all other stuff is jarring. Perhaps seeing the wip stages we'll get a better view of how you're progressing.

It's kind of weird to see you say your AI animation is now at near Hollywood quality. Are the videos you include with these updates examples of this quality in your view? It's a genuine question and I'm not asking to be mean, but all I see is single camera, single perspective shots of a single character. The motion presented is very simple simple: idle body movements or straight line walks towards of away from the camera with the camera keeping up with the character. Characters move, but go nowhere, and of course the standard myriad AI hallucinations with fingers and other things (in the waterfall clip there's actually a small flame on one of the wet stones lol). AI animations still look like someone's dream, interpreted through the filter of dementia. No characters moving across the screen from left to right. No characters' feet actually interacting with the ground. No interaction with the environment more than walking through water. No characters interacting with each other in a coherent manner. I'm not talking about sex scenes, just clips that can show normal interactions. Right now these videos are more or less pretty animated wallpapers. They're pretty and tend towards the "realistic" and would work as idle animations, but that's it imo. If you think you're at Hollywood level I'd love to see you reproduce the "simple" intro to G4E. I mean this wholeheartedly. I'm ready to get on board with AI, even with its dementia, if you can actually do movies. If you have any better videos please share. Again, I mean this wholeheartedly, because, if this is the "Hollywood movie quality" I think you're deluding yourself. Movie quality is more than looking pretty. It's about motion, interaction, story, and capturing a scene from multiple angles. All things you were able to do and did in your 3d work.

We'll see. Right now current models are reaching their limits and have insane power requirements for miniscule improvements. Unless they find new ways to do things, it may be possible that the bubble will pop, since a lot of AI investment is based on future capability, which now doesn't seem so sure.

its crazy to see how much progress ai animations make in such a short amount of time. hard to imagine how good it is going to be in lets say 5 years, im pretty hyped about the future. And a questions for you miro, is goal to recreate ai Cerene very close to original one? i really hope since she looks good.

I'm kinda happy that the animations with ai aren't your standards. I don't like where everything is going with ai nowadays. I follow you since the first release of G4E and for me it was the best animation ever made. I hope its getting back to that quality.
