Sophia Daz Port WIP 1
Added 2020-12-21 03:30:30 +0000 UTCSomewhere in the A3D verse, Sophia stands alone as our last bastion of hope in the ongoing boob size arms race waged between Sayako, Cerene, and now newcomer, Raven. With her bee stings she fights, defiantly, against all odds to represent her people, few left as there may be, from the onslaught of the morph slider.
Anyway, as you can see, we've finished the first rendition of Sophia's port to Daz. She was the last of our main girls waiting to be ported. We still need to move Tristan, but that's less pressing for the sets we have planned in the immediate future.
You'll also notice Sophia's let down her hair. This was the closest, in terms of style, to her Maya hair. What do you think? Also let us know what you think of her ass. Is it too big, too small, just right? Likewise, do you prefer her with or without bush (aka pubic hair)?

Artists tend to fall into a samey aesthetic across multiple characters depending on personal tastes, which is totally expected (everyone has a style). But at the same time you lose out on so many different possibilities if you're not willing to break the mold at least in small targeted areas like this to give some depth, diversity, and contrast between characters. Ultimately it gives fantasy characters just a hint of realism via unique quirks which makes them pop off the screen. Not everyone is completely bare down there 😁.

This makes me wonder if the lower end of her buttocks is being 3D blended into the tops of her thighs too smoothly. Her shape is fine upwards to the waist, but I'm thinking that another round of refinement would be warranted for the shape of her lower butt cheeks at the join to the thighs.

Best of all, her hips are nicely well proportioned alongside, so a big butt fits perfectly and doesn't look out of place. Absolutely love her darker, standout nipples as well. It's a unique look and a departure from the blended-in pinky flesh tones the others share. I'm so stoked you're experimenting with the bush and I think she's a great character to do it with. Personally if someone has a bush of any sort in 3DX, I'd rather it be actually... visible. I honestly had to go back and watch BL1 to catch her previous one because I wasn't sure if she ever had one. I'm hugely in favor of making hers more dense the way you have it here. The shape however looks like it's in uncanny valley territory between a trimmed landing strip and a slightly wider, yet still trimmed triangle shape. Almost like we were thinking about going full Karlee Grey and stopped halfway ('ey). I think either landing strip or a triangle shape (of any size) would work if you keep it the same density. Just not this strange in-between land. I don't know if a full on Karlee Grey wide bush treatment would be good on Sophia (it might be!) but I'd definitely love to see one character sometime down the road embrace that level of bush.

2020-12-21 14:43:14 +0000 UTCAbout her (head) hair ... without her now standard head jewelry on her brow, ear and pinning her hair up, Sophia is totally giving off a vibe of being Lara Croft's sister. It's kind of amazing how much of a difference those brow, ear and hair accessories make for her look. One thing that does concern me is that I'm getting a sense, with this hairstyle and without the head ornaments, that Sophia's head isn't quite big enough for her neck/body. The right body/neck with head slightly too small look is starting to make her feel "too young" as in she's teen aged rather than being in her early 20s. It makes me wonder if increasing the overall size of her head by as little as up to +5% would help give her the feeling of being more college co-ed aged than high school senior aged. It's a small but subtle thing. I do think the pony tail with a crimped wave in it works for Sophia ... although I do have to wonder if the length of the pony tail is perhaps a bit short for how her hair is styled when she has it pinned up on her head. Somehow, I would have expected her ponytail to be of a length that suggests if she let her hair ALL the way down, it would reach her waist/top of her ass.

There really ought to be at least some nod towards Sophia having aureola of a slightly different skin texture around her nipples, even if the color contrast is small and the added radius around the nipples is also comparatively small, giving her a large nipples to small aureola proportions balance on her breasts. Point being you'd want something subtle, rather than invisible like I'm seeing here ... since understated aureolas would help maintain that "never been pregnant yet, so maybe still a virgin?" look for Sophia.

It ought to be a depression in her abdominal wall that dimples inwards rather than just being something painted onto a flat surface.

You can clearly see that Sophia is mostly shaved, but she leaves a few wisps of hair in a long thin landing strip that are mostly transparent. Now I don't have a problem with letting Sophia grow in her landing strip of pubic hair so she has a dense rather than thinned out long thin landing strip of pubic hair. A change in pubic hair density is fine with me. However, a change in the shape/configuration of Sophia's pubic hair is NOT okay with me. The Hitler's Mustache shape lacks ... lady-like elegance to it ... which Sophia's public mound ought to have, and this shape really does not. I'm perfectly fine with Arielle remaining clean shaven on her pubic mound as a way to help differentiate her from Sophia, even though they use the same body model. If you're going to change the hair up top, you're also allowed to change the hair down below.

That little square bush is "not working for her" because it looks ... ODD. Sophia is supposed to have a "ghost of a landing strip" of pubic hair The precedent is around an 8:1 to 9:1 proportion of width to height, not this 2:3 "mustache brush" you're showing us here.
