These days I honestly haven't had many chances to really focus on doing some good old frame-by-frame drawings. I forgot how genuinely fun it is. This little bit was some of the most fun I've had animating in a while.
Lately, my attention has had to be more on writing and storyboarding, or the sort of animation more focused on layer organization and keyframe interpolating. So this was fun to return to. I wish my attention wasn't so fractured between multiple projects and other life obligations at the moment, because this is the sort of work I want to focus back on. It's seriously so fun. And it looks great!
Speaking of having to do a lot of writing, that's where the Mashed video I recently talked about still is. Still writing it! I thought we were moving on to storyboarding, but after a recent meeting, I basically had to rewrite the whole thing. Woof! If I've ever seemed burnt out lately, that would certainly be a contributing factor.
