I'm late to the party, but wanted to cast another vote for both a video of your trip (hope you have a wonderful time!) and for watching the Six Feet Under series - it's one of my favorites and I think you'd love it too.

Jessika Wagner

I love everything old also.

So excited you are still busy producing your own creations and videos. I love anything Christine. The most talented woman on earth!

Regarding the van story - on behalf of all British people, I'd like to apologise to you for all the potholes on the roads of this country 🤣

Charlotte Meyer

Just wanted to drop a quick heads up, VA is beautiful, but ironically we're trying to move to the Northeast (probably Albany-ish, NY) because VA has become kind of miserable weather-wise. We rarely get snow - and when we do it's largely ice or mixed with ice. The summers have become so hot that the kids can't really play outside (at least very long). As a kid, I used be gone all day outside. Now VA just bakes. And it's SO humid - but it's always been humid. We've been wanting to move to the Northeast because we wanted to get snow, not ice, largely because you can move snow - ice is in it for the long haul. We want Fall to last more than 3-4 weeks (it's so quick here). Spring is longer but it still spills into Summer heat pretty quickly. The wind can also be pretty crazy in the spring - which is unfortunate because it knocks all the pretty flowering tree petals down. From what we understand New England just tends to run colder, a lot of houses don't even have AC (though we hear they still wish they had it), and the pollen is only intense in the Spring. In VA it's bad Spring thru Fall - the cars turn yellow. :D Google some images of VA pollen on cars - it really is that bad. VA is a gorgous state and has a lot of beautiful land if you get away from DC/Richmond. It really is a beautiful state with amazing wildlife. But the weather has definitely shifted and it's gotten kinda bleh 3/4 seasons. And for a place you'd be building your forever home in, I'd just really recommend staying here during summer and winter before you commit. You might find it's not for you. Spring and that 4 week Fall window don't tell the whole story. I'd love to hear your or anyone in the chat's thoughts on the Northeast seasons. We've been vacationing up in NY/MA the last few summers and are very ready to move. But again - could just be a great time to visit and not the whole story! :D

I was five when I understood what death was. My dad was a career marine corp officer and it was 1967, when he went to Vietnam. I knew he might not come back. But I am like you, death has never frightened me and I don't mind talking or thinking about it. I am a single mom, with some very tricky medical conditions, and I have had to have conversations with friends and family to make sure my son and pets were ok if something happened to me. To a person, they were horribly appalled, they all cried and none of them wanted to talk about it. I was really surprised. I just think of it as a fact of life and I don't believe energy ever dies, so I'll exist somewhere no matter what! I don't see the problem with it!
