The December Contest!

Hello!!

My Apologies about Sunday's livestream! We had a technical issue and are still trying to sort it out. Once I'm certain we have it fixed, I'll reschedule :D Thank you so very much for all of your kindness when that happened (It nearly gave us a heart attack and the comments were a tremendous relief )

That said, there's no reason we can't go right ahead with a contest for one of the Elves! I tried finding a contest that would make people happy and have come up with this...

In the comments below; please List three things that you love most about life. This should be wonderful for everyone to pause and think about and one lucky winner will receive a sparkly shrunken head! There are no wrong answers :D (Contest goes until December 28th)

Also! I'm interested to know which was your favorite! So I'm doing a poll above to figure that out and the elf with the most votes will be the prize for the contest. As well as a signed polaroid of me making them!

I hope you're all having having a wonderful holiday and thank you once more for all of your support :))

-Christine, the Captive and the Furballs

1. My relationship with my husband. 2. My 1874 house. 3. Spending time with my adult kids.

3 things I love about life: 1. Being able to start my own family and home life, pets included, and surround myself with those I love. 2. Books and movies. I love being able to escape into dream worlds, especially spooky ones. 3. Dessert! I love being able to make my day sweeter.

I am a day late but I just found out another friend is likely leaving this mortal plane soon, leaving me in a certain kind of mood. 1. The beautiful pain of learning the hard truths about this life. Without ugly pain to compare, we would not know pleasure and beauty. 2. Facing mortality. We all die. Accepting this through and through leaves us in a humble place. No matter what material gains or experiences one has or the lack of, none of us escape this journey alive. 3. The present, because it is a gift. Sure, it sounds cliche but it is the truth. It's all we have. The past is gone. The future is not guaranteed. But each and every one of us, we have this very moment, right now.

This had me think for a bit, but I came to these three: 1) Traveling. I'm not very well traveled, but I've flown to Bolivia for an undergrad class, and Mexico for a friend's wedding. It's also refreshing to even take a road trip for a short destination stay as it's better to visit a place just for a day than never at all. 2) The smell of northern Michigan. When driving up north, there's a spot where you can sense, at least for me, the transition from downstate to the "north". There's more trees, more wildlife, less people, the terrain changes, and you can smell the freshness of the air and trees. 3) Museums. I have always loved old things, specifically old things in a museum. To me they are a place of calm, learning, and imagination. For example, when looking at something like ancient pottery I can't help but wonder about the "life" the object had and the events that took place around it before it ended up in a museum collection.

The three things I love about life: - The uniqueness of every single person and animal to grace this planet! I love how every single living organism here has a backstory, they have minds that think differently to everyone else and I just think it is so fantastic! - My incredible rescue cats. When I started doing rescue I never thought it would be so gut wrenching, powerful and wonderful. - The past/History. Yes it may be dark in some places, though I love to see how we, as the human race, have grown, learnt, lived and learnt. ❤️

I Love this! ( I won’t count that as one) I’m sure I’ll sound totally cliche, but oh well! 1) The family my husband and I have created! If the teenage me could see me know I think she would be pretty excited for her future. We’re humble but happy. 2) The unusual mild winter we have been having! Love looking at the snow but not how people drive in it. We’ve had very little snow fall and I can’t say I’m mad about it. 3) Last but certainly not least.. my mother. We had a bit of a health scare the last year but things are going better health wise for her and I’m so thankful for that. Loosing her would be like cutting myself in half. I’d be a mess and utterly lost without her.

The three things I love about life this very moment.. One. My yorkie Bella has overcome the odds and is still kickin! Lol. She was diagnosed with CHF (amoung other things) about a year ago and was only supposed to live 6 months. She surpassed that and is actually doing well. I'm her stay at home 24/7 nurse ❤ Two. I love my family. Although we are small.. making up less than 10 people.. we have the love of a whole empire. Three. My unwavering determination. I have been trying to make it as an artist and started Sculpting about 5 years ago. I'm by no means well known but I've grown a small following. Those people are like my friends. And I enjoy making art for them. In the past year I've developed alot of health issues that get me down some days.. but.. each morning after coffee.. my spirit says nope you will do this day and continue the journey 😊 Thank you Christine for being your amazing self.. someone I turn to for inspiration ❤

Watching my children grow as people, the role reversal of me now being the one who takes care of my Mum and Dad and my ritual of never missing a full moon.

I love my baby and my dogs and cats. I love that I am fortunate enough to help my friends with money so they are able to live. I love when I have amazing craft and photography ideas 💖😊💖

Megan Jones

The first thing that I love about life is who I get to spend it with. I have the most incredible chosen family, a close circle of true sisters who live near me, and a network of life-long friends flung across the continent. I have a furry herd of children who bring joy and chaos and meaning to every day of my life, and who have gotten me through the hardest days of it. And a partner who I adore, who sees me and encourages me in all of my many passions and pursuits. Second, I am grateful for nature. Like you, I'm a Californian who has found home in upstate New York, and I wouldn't trade my experience of the seasons for the world, even to avoid every miserable February. Creating a garden and learning to care for it has brought me into a rhythm with the year and has deepened my connection to place more than I've ever known. And whenever life becomes too loud, a walk in the woods always slows down time, and reminds me that I am not visiting nature, I'm part of it. Finally, I love the creativity of being human - making stories, adding meaning, and finding ways to beautify even the most mundane parts of daily life, just by bringing intention (and often a little hard work, if not outright stubborness) to it.

Valorie Curry

The three things I love about life are: enjoying all things spooky with my partner in our perfectly splendid cottage-core lesbian dream life, our three miracles of life (two beautiful tabby cats named Fiona Shaw and Bits Princess Elizabeth Stormborn, and Bobby, a ball obsessed pointadore. My third favorite thing in life is soccer.

Aimee Uchytil

Three things I love about life right now: Being creative. It is such a joy to be able to make things. It makes me so happy to work in my garden, to make videos of some of the ridiculous historic recipes I cook, to dance, to sew and embroider, and to share it all with others. The creatures I share my life with -- my beloved partner Scratch who encourages me in all my crazy pursuits, our giant house panther Bartholomew who is smarter than any cat has a right to be, little Jack who is turning into a cuddle bug, and the spirit of Albert A. Cat of blessed memory, who is always with us (I'm wearing a locket with his portrait and a bit of his fur right now.) My parents -- they're healthy and happy in retirement, enjoying their favorite pastimes and traveling around the world. They're still always supportive and loving of their daughters, who may be grown, but occasionally need their mom & dad.

Mina Murray

First, I love where I live. I have beautiful mountains that great me every day. My dad painted so many beautiful pictures of Mount Timpanogos and I’m lucky to have a few of the originals. Second, I am thankful for the closeness of my family. We get along and are each others best friends. Third, I am thankful for the chance to share with other’s creativity!

Brenda Fairbanks

1) the smell of first snowfall. 2) having wine and sushi with a friend. 3) hearing an amazingly funny joke that it tickles your brain.

1) My Little Family 😻: I cherish the life my partner and I have built together in Oregon, alongside our sweet kitty cat. The love and connection we share make our home a warm and happy place, and I’m grateful every day for the life we’ve established. 2) Dancing 🩰: Ballet has reentered my life, and it feels like a beautiful reunion with a part of myself I had missed. Dancing brings me joy, freedom, and a sense of creative expression that fills my heart. 3) Creating Safe Spaces ✨: I love curating environments that reflect my personality and bring me peace—spaces filled with spooky, gothic, and cottagey vibes that feel like a sanctuary. These touches make my world feel uniquely mine and endlessly comforting.

Merry Christmas 🎄 My 3 things I love most about this life- 1) My Faith-knowing that I am never alone, knowing that there is more to come and the gift of love 2) My Frenchies ❤️ Gipsy and Gidget- True Friendship and unconditional Love 🐾 My Rainbow Frenchies 🌈 Millie Moo and Bella Bean 3) My Mother ✨ She left this world 10 years ago but she is with me everyday. I cherish the memories that we shared together and try to make her proud with everything I do.

Courtney McCanlis

1. Fall/Ghostober/Halloween. Everything about it. 2. Traveling to foreign lands, learning about different foods and customs, and meeting new people. 3. Cooking…it is my meditationc how I express my love to others, and it just recharges my soul. 🖤

Paola Garcia

Excited for the livestream tomorrow! My three things I love about life right now: 1. Ingenuity: I'm so consistently impressed by the ways people find to enrich their persons and environments through fabrication and modification. The imagination, the delusion, the persistence that takes! The entire breadth of human creativity is a joy to behold. To paraphrase Douglas Addams, though I likely couldn't build a toaster I'm proud to be amongst the species that figured it out. 2. Enthusiasm: My favorite question to ask is, "What are you most excited about right now?" I love listening to people talk about and show off what motivates them to their greatest happiness, whatever that may be. 3. Interconnectivity: I feel so truly and deeply grateful to live in a time where it's easy to find and connect with people who had the same obscure fascinations I do. Related to the above, I love being able to find people talking passionately about things I wouldn't otherwise take an interest in on Youtube and in podcasts. I love to live in an age when key instructions and advice to anything I could want to do are mere keystrokes away from understanding.

Abigail

1) a long walk in the neighborhood with comfortable shoes and a jacket that’s just right for the weather 2) full body goosebumps during a live musical performance 3) when I can’t stop laughing with my sister and I feel 5 years old again

Adrienne Visani

What I love most about life right now is being able to sit out on my deck in the morning with the cool air blowing lightly, holding a stray cat and watching birds stop by the yard mid-migration :)

Lucia Mascote

1. I am so grateful to be able to express myself through creating art… even though it gets me into trouble with falling into creative rabbit holes for days/spending money on crazy ideas/etc. But, I think that’s part of the joy of doing something you love. 2. My partner- who stands by me and encourages me to follow my dreams and is just overall a wonderful and grounding person. 2. My kitties, they stay curious and remind me that it’s important to rest and they are also really cute.

Aubree

My favorite things about life right now are 1. Being surrounded by people who are kind, creative, intelligent, and compassionate. Every day, I am inspired by my community, family, and friends. 2. My pets. I have my sweet dog Gus-Gus, my cat Rumtum Tiger, and two pigeons Zephyr and Temperance. 3 of my 4 were rescues and bottle fed. They remind me to enjoy the simple things. 3. The magical place I call home- Honolulu Hawaii. I live on the edge of the forest and get to watch green parrots fly by my window. It can be a hard day but with a cup of tea and a few minutes by the window nature will help heal it.

Mimzy

1. Love that I get to continue to explore a new chapter of life with my partner. Married on a Friday the 13th in October last year after being together for 13 years. Somehow the adventures always continue even after all this time. 2. Love that my lovely furkinder are in good health and happy (2 cats: Leelu and Wolfie Rin; 1 dog: Dexter) 3. Love that I am learning to explore my hobbies and trying new things even if they come out looking like a child made them. Use to let fear tell me I was never good at something without even trying.

Angie Loyd

My favourite things about life right now: 1. I have the honour of creating beautiful things for people for a living 2. My goblins-I lucked out and brought amazing ones into the world 3. The fact that I accidentally grew a pumpkin from my compost brought me intense joy this year. It sounds so silly to be so happy with this, but it really made me happy. Apparently when you grow something like this it is called a volunteer.

Leslie Harry

My favorite things about life are 1) endless ways to be creative; 2) the natural world which is more entertaining than any human works; and 3) the deep mysteries of our consciousness and the universe around us, known and unknown!

Wynn Mercere

I think like most people, what I love most about life rotates constantly, but right now it’s: 1. My cat Tituba, who has consistently brought comic relief to the household with her enigmatic agenda, attempts to start house fires, disregard for rules, and determination to be involved in all renovation projects for the architecturally inscrutable 1950s house I bought 2 years ago. 2. My own captive. Even though he routinely accuses me of plotting his demise (usually by spells or poisoning), he has stuck around for 10 years encouraging my bizarre hobbies and putting up with my temperamental nature. He has been a wonderful companion in all things from concert-going to moonlight marauding. We celebrated our anniversary in November (he took me antiquing and to a burlesque show). 3. Everything that happened in 2024 (spending the winter working in Mexico; taking what was likely a final trip with my grandmother down the Natchez Trace to the swamps of her Mississippi hometown for her sister’s memorial; summertime waterfall adventures in upstate New York with some friends I haven’t seen in years; finally, after a decade, visiting my captive’s Jersey Shore hometown; an incredible Halloween season that included a harvest festival with a good friend; being published in an anthology; and a reacquaintance with my late grandmother’s 1970 sewing machine, which I’m using to design and make a dress to wear when I see The Cure next year) and what’s to come in 2025 (a new and unexpected work opportunity; spending carnival season in New Orleans visiting one of my best and oldest friends; the weddings of two dear friends; a raunchy boudoir photo shoot; a summer road trip in a camper van along the New England coast; seeing The Cure when they go on tour; and possibly Salem for Halloween!). It’s taken me decades of work and tears and ups and downs, and it’s still a work in progress, but I’m endlessly grateful for the life I’ve been able to design. Happy holidays to you and your household, Christine!

1. Animals - ESPECIALLY my sweet little pup Noodles - she makes me laugh, she is my muse (i've painted her multiple times ahaha) and she's the reason my partner and I are together (because he wouldn't stop talking about her when we worked together in a cafe and I fell in love with her first and him second). He has had her since he was 15 (more than half of his life!) She's recently been diagnosed with melanoma so every moment is precious but when she goes we'll know she had a wonderful life (including a ramped bed right beside ours) and likewise ours is more wonderful because of her. (Already crying ahaha) 2. People - obviously first and foremost my partner but also literally everyone. I worked in a dementia unit around Christmas and I don't know if it was just the holiday spirit but every patient was lovely despite the awful disease that they have. We had long conversations and even laughed a bit which can be rare in these circumatances. Seeing my coworkers go out of their way to brighten their day warmed my heart. We even had volunteer Christmas carollers that actually made us all tear up. I went from dreading the day to leaving so full of hope and warmth and respect. 3. Crafting - seems like a weird third options when the first two are animals and people but it's my passion! I love making things, I love being known as someone who makes things and because of it I got the most beautiful Christmas gift this year - my partners recently deceased Nana's crafting items. My mother in law had saved them all and gave them to me because I am the crafter of the family. Zips, buttons, HEAPS of fabric, patterns (even things she had written on) I cried for a long time going through it all because I wish I had known her when she was able to make these things. I also imagined the piles of things I will leave behind and the thought that it will go to someone who will cherish and use it all makes me so happy, I hope I can make Mary proud with the things I create with her items. 💚💚 Happy holidays and happy new year everyone!!

Shea Hine

1) I love my cats 2) I love my friends and family 3) (bonus) I love having my hands in the dirt and growing things

Jen Townsend

I'm late, so I totally get if I don't qualify! 1. I am going to be a first time mom (single) in 4 months! It was unexpected and I wasnt teying to have kids. Unfortunately the dad yesterday told me to go kick rocks and he isn't interested. But that won't stop me! I will have my own babu bat, and get to be a mommy bat! ( gender yet is unconfirmed). 2. That I am still here on this planet. I went a long time with suicidal thoughts (never attempted), but about 4 years ago, I discovered you and a few other favorite artist. I too want to start a spooky series of fun stuff, and teach/educate. ( and now that I will be a mom, I can also use that to create art content with my baby when they get older, or make stuff for them too!) 3. My pets. Without my cats and snake keeping me grounded, I don't know where I would have been this long. They piss me off, but I still love them no matter what! 🖤 🐈 🐈 🐍

Kuro Kaiju

I Love this! 1- Furry companions 🐈‍⬛ 2- the magic and mystery of spooky old items 🪦✨ The foggy cemetaries at night, ghost stories by the fire, horror movies in grandmas orange shag living room, the cat staring into the closet, etc. 3- teaching and sharing with others. ✏️

Kristin Parks

This was surprisingly easy to answer which I think is a good sign that I'm in a good place right now :) 1. Love/friendship - The relationships I have in my life bring me so much joy and I'm so happy that I have a partner and friends that I feel so utterly comfortable with and have so much fun with. To feel like someone understands you makes life so much better. 2. Creativity - The ability to think up and create silly things feels like a gift that just keeps on giving. If you can think it up you can create it, isn't that wonderful? 3. Clouds/the sky - That there is such a magnificent, and beautiful view that's everchanging and right above our heads is so wonderful. So many times just stopping and looking up will just transport you to somewhere beautiful and serene no matter where you are right in that moment. I love that so much.

Ellinor Flood

1. I love and am grateful for my health 💛 2. My beautiful dogs 🐕 Rufus and Penny 3. My husband and all of our friends and family

FinalGirlSophie

1) I’m trying to learn Greek and my teacher just explained to me, “You can’t say you “love” candy (or a certain food) in Greek. You can say, I “like” about food and objects. You CAN say I “I love’ about people and ANIMALS! I thought that was so special, that the Greek language helps its people sort of….organize their thoughts and remember what’s important. 2) I love the idea of America….the United States I grew up in. I love our optimism and how we value individual people….that a single citizen is important. 3) I love DESIGN!!!!!! That the way you arrange objects, shapes, swishes of ink or paint and color and can make you FEEL something! That if you rearrange it….you can make it something totally different and it gives you a completely DIFFERENT feeling! Being surrounded by good design makes life worth living!

Kiki Reef

3 of my favorite things...#1: My black cat Spooky, I always wanted a black cat and he came into my life by chance a week before Halloween a few years back, he is the sweetest pet I have ever owned. #2: Long hikes on crisp Autumn days, I love nature, especially that time of year. #3: A good cup of coffee first thing when I wake up, I'm a night owl and can't function till caffeinated.

Willow Birch

Watching Christmas Cartoons as a family

Jamie Carson-Cantrell

1. Sharing time with family and friends, especially when everyone is happy and healthy. 2. I love discovering and learning more about the things that interest and excite me. The older I have gotten the more I have realized that there are endless things to learn about, which thrills me. 3. That I am able to pursue my interests and my passions, and use my creativity and imagination to create art.

Samuel Greenberg

Ahhh... my favorite things. 1st. I just absolutely love Jesus. He is my everything. 2nd is my family. 3rd this is going to sound silly, but I love dreaming of my loved ones that have passed on

wendy fahrney

1. I’m “loving” failing. I had previously put a stupid amount of pressure on myself to make things perfect that I often didn’t “do”. So now failing at creative pursuits, failing at trying to make friends as an adult, failing at learning an instrument, etc is getting me farther than not trying ever did. 2. I’m loving my parents being healthy. After a bumpy couple of years filled with health scares for both my mom and dad I’m cherishing them being on solid ground for the time being. 3. Finally, a tie between searing hot morning coffee and crawling into fresh sheets after a long day.

Beatrice Hotzler

Geronimo- my sweet feline companion Champagne for all of the many wonderful moments Time to create phenomenal things

Jamie Ulm

Being with and getting to love my little family; my husband, daughter and my furbabies too they are my everything. Hanging out with my friends who support me in this crazy world. Being in nature, specifically the deep woods. It speaks to my soul.

MiLora Tur

My favorite things: 1) pets, specifically my two kitties, 2) making things both useful and not, and 3) my church family. Happy New Year everyone!

Gillian Nelson

Three things I love about life: 1. Laughing hysterically with people I care about 2. Sewing amazing things that I feel good wearing 3. Gaming, particularly when there is a great community that also plays that game

Missie Massacre

My three things: Spending time with my adult children and their kiddos! I am blessed! The second thing in my life would be all my friends. I am lucky enough to have two friends from when I was 10 and am now 60. Third is my grandson. He was diagnosed with leukemia and spent a year in at St. Jude's. He is home and in remission!!! I have had a blessed year!

Michelle Schulte

The 3 things I love most about life, are quite simple things. 1. Smiles (given and received). 2. Passion/joy (to feel excitement for things, experiences, people, is to feel alive). 3. Creativity (expression through art, I couldn't imagine a life without some form of creativity)

Lori I

1. Spending time with the people I love and my cat 2. Getting to create new things 3. Seeing different places around the world and just getting to appreciate simply that they exist and that they are all so diverse and unique

Rafał Taras

Some of the things I love most about life: 1) I love meeting people that make me want to be a better person, while also reminding me that there are still good people out there in the world. 2) Food is my love language, so when I make something and gift it to someone - the look on their face that someone did something kind for them makes my day. 3) Orgasms. Gotta be honest! :D

Melissa Catron

1.) I love that I have a family that is super supportive of me and my ambitions, no matter what I fancy at the time. They are my rock and I will forever be grateful for them. I don't know if I can do the things I do without their love and support. 2.) I love the small group of friends I have that also act like a part of my family- they are there no matter what and always lift me up when I am down. 3.) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY- I LOVE MYSELF. RuPaul was right- "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you going to love someone else?!"

Miss MozzyDee

1 dogs with bleps 2 cat tummies 3 fat birds

Locked thecat

1) taking a hot bath before getting into a soft warm bed at the end of a day 2) watching my creative endeavours come to life while I craft 3) nice cups of tea

Isabella Schmidt

1. Cherished moments with my family. Both the one I was born into and the one I built myself like Frankensteins monster. 2. The look of pure unconditional joy on a dogs face. 3. The little whispers that tell you autumn is on the way. A certain smell, the first crisp breeze in August, Halloween decor showing up in stores, the first pumpkins showing up in farm stands, the shadows of the end of a day coming earlier and earlier, hinting at the time for monsters to come out and play. The chill that starts to run down your spine during that hour of gold, and you aren’t quite sure if it’s from the temp cooling perfectly.. or you heard some shadow behind you being mischievous. The magic of fall coming back to life.

Traci Harkins

1. The feeling of the wind while I stand barefoot in the grass 2. Holding hands with those I love and just being 3. That we have music and art..incredible So at the end of the day listening to beautiful music while standing in the grass with the breeze on my skin and my husband holding my hand. Dosent get much better

Jennifer Edwards

1. The ability to ride bikes and experience the wind in my hair like I am still a kid. 2. The privilege to be able to escape to different worlds through reading. 3. My small daily rituals are why I wake up everyday. Sometimes I go to bed early just so I can wake up and eat my planned breakfast sooner. I think that is how I continue to feel rich even when life get's heavy.

Kate Lingenfelter

First thing I love that my Mom is still in my life, she is the soil that nourished me, kept me protected, and helped me grow into the woman I am proud to be today. Second thing I love is the people in my life even though we may not always agree on everything, I can always count on them to help me in my time of need. Third thing I love is I’m fortunate enough to have everything I need in life. It may not be the richest, but what it lacks in wealth, it has an abundance of love and happiness, even in the simple things

kathryn moore

1. The presence of a cat 2. My partner's bolognaise 3. A nice new pair of socks

Brooke Nankin

What I love most about life is 1) Being alive!! 2) My family, furry family and friends. 3) Life's Journey of constant change -- some people don't like change, but I do. It's kept me balanced by wholeheartedly being grateful and enjoying the good times AND by being faithful and strong to overcome the bad times.

Judy Campanella

Hello! 1) I love the wisdom and confidence that are coming more and more with age. I think I’m absolutely and finally qualified to give good advice now, and to not worry so much what others think. 2) I love taking back MY life. I sign up for classes that *I* have an interest in these days, like stained glass. 3) I love the anticipation of planning future adventures (my next is Salem). Anticipation gives you something to look forward to.

Amanda Gray

1) I love that life is a series of changes. I used to fear change, but I think that's what make us lucky because we are fortunate enough to witness and experience the changes that we face in life. Growing a year older is a privilege denied to many and appreciated by very few. So no matter what happens, I'm grateful for the next shift. 2) I love that life is magic. Evolution or divine manifestation or whatever you want to call it. The fact that we are all atoms and genetic components and stardust and sacs of blood and bones is just bonkers to me. We're on a rock floating in outer space! It's straight up magic. 3) I love that life is shared. Most of us experience empathy because we have the capacity to put ourselves in someone else's shoes. When we do something fun, we want to share it with people we love, and that makes it more fun! Our shared participation and understanding of how others experience life is what it's all about.

Christine Lambert

Hello, and Happy Yule! Three things I am grateful for this year are my own captive, my six cats who scare off potential intruders, and the patient house spirits who put up with us. (p.s - a random project idea for the future: a haunted book-nook house!)

Rebecca Lynn Broadbent

First, we're grateful for us. In all the noise and darkness, we found each other--two nutters now stitched at the heart, growing old and spooky together, reshaping our souls into one strange & twisted ghost. We're also thankful for our beasts (though we are fairly certain one is Hell's spawn, and that keeping it fed & watered is the only thing saving the planet from Armageddon). Finally, we have so much gratitude for the beautiful things...like skeletons and graveyards and mist and long shadows and goosebumps and echoey creaks in empty old houses. It's the little things that keep us alive.

Victoria and Chris

Thanks for doing this Christine! Hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family! My three things I love most about this life… 1) my family - my captive, my two cats Blossom and Chewy, and my dog Fenway 2) traveling - any place - I love immersing myself in new cultures and stepping outside my comfort zone 3) Halloween - my favorite time of year. I feel myself come alive during this time of year. I love sharing that love with the people in this group and of course with my friends and family. I’d love to hear your 3 things as well!🥰

Lauren Smith

My close ones - which include my mother, sister, brother, nephews, best friend, husband, and a kitty cat named Minion. My creativity and my attempts to bring beautiful and interesting things into the world. Our long-awaited trip of lifetime this last October; I'll never forget floating on streets of water in a gondola as night fell on Venice, Italy.

Racheal Jones

1. I love my husband and fur babies! They really are my co conspirators in all my projects. 2. I love living in a project house that I get to pour my creativity into and the never ending opportunities to learn that come from it. 3. I love how my mindset has changed about life and how simple things can make a difference in how you view yourself.

Ashlee Colvey

1. Life is what you think it is; 2. Any experience you have has a use, as it helps you define the outline of your being, and that includes bumping into things that are not you.; 3. You should voraciously consume your nice things. Everything can be an ocasion. There is no other time than your time. No borrowed time, no stolen moments, all of it is already yours. And all of it can be celebrated.

TheBlueMagpie

1) loved ones in my life 2) a lazy morning drinking coffee, watching a show, knitting and just enjoying hedonism! 3) animals

1.The loving and caring people in my life. 2.The creativity and ability to do a ton of hobbies. 3.Nature.. from the life and death of the changing seasons, the plants/water that feed and nourish us, to the amazingly animals and insects that exist. I try and not to take any of these things for granted.

Brittany LoDico

My three things! 1) My very patient and loving captive. 2) Getting to do what I love for a living every day and call it work. 3) The house we bought together and get to make into a home and share memories in.

Alice

What I am most thankful for is that I finally got my shit together and started living life like I should have been doing for years. The 3 thing that I am most thankful for first are my 3 girls I love them so much. I am also thankful for my grandkids. And the fact that even though I am 53 and in not the best health I get to babysit my littles in my life. And finally I am thankful for my fat fluffy long hair black Persian cat that is so spoiled. And my crazy wild child black and white manx cat.

Lorie Gerard

what a nice question!! what I love most about life are: - trying new and fancy baked goods (and baking them myself) - cats, I mean they are the most wonderful thing ever - listening to Dolly Parton, she just makes me so happy

Hit the gym. Avoid drama. Smell nice. Make money. Level up your circle. Talk less. Pray more. Think highly of yourself. ❤️

I love... 1. my little flat. It is my first time ever being able to afford to live alone at 27 and I love it! I feel so much more creative and inspired 2. my friends that I learn to cherish even more with the years 3. Nature that keeps giving inspiration, calmness and wisdom everyday

Perrine de Donato

1) I love watching my little one grow and change and experience new things. Still hard to believe we’ve crafted a tiny human sometimes, but they are truly a source of joy in my life. 2) I love the recent resurgence in obsession with Greek (and Roman) mythology, making babbling about my special interest almost socially acceptable! We’ve gotten some great art and music from a number of fandoms, and the creativity is so inspiring! 3) I love having a steadfast community of friends and family who are always willing to support my dreams and creative plans. Since the pandemic, I’ve taught myself many crafts and hobbies, and I’ve made things for those I love, and they’ve all been so ready to cheer me on every step of the way. B”H, I have truly been blessed.

Tessara Dudley

I love... 1. my husband, who is my very best friend. There is no one who makes me laugh more or who I love making music with more. 2. my cat Cece, who is smart and silly and brings so much joy to every day. 3. my job. I'm a historian and absolutely love being able to help students learn how to think like historians, how to understand the past and why it matters, and how to engage with the original sources (documents, media, artifacts) of the past.

Lauren Turek

(1) I'm thankful I was able to put food on my table this Christmas, and have a wonderful Christmas dinner. (2) along with family; it's the most important thing to me. I have no blood family, but cherish every moment I have with my husband's side. And (3) finally I'm thankful for modern medicine. My 6 year old daughter is type 1 diabetic I'm so thankful she has the options to live a long beautiful healthy life along with creating beautiful memories to cherish forever because of modern medicine. Be thankful everyday day for the little things. ❤️ Merry Christmas and happy New Year ⛄️🎄❄️

Maikayah Baird

1. Books - when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and it felt like my own body was betraying me, I had my books. I could tag along with my favorite characters and go on adventures that I will never be able to do with my current health challenges. I can travel the world, and solve mysteries, and step away from my reality for a time and enjoy the creative worlds of my favorite authors. They've kept me going. 2. My son and fur babies - the support I get from my son (now 17) has let me take care of myself and not overstress my body. And my fur babies, they help force me out of bed and show me the unconditional love that can be hard to find in this world. 3. You and your unending creativity - for a little time each month, my inner spooky girl gets to come out and revel in your creativity and unending talents. I told my son you are literally living my dream life. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. Happy Holidays!!!

Caleen Canady

1. Faith 2.Family 3. Friends

Anne Soden

My three favourite things about life: - Being able to connect with friends, colleagues, and fellow creatives online. Sharing projects with others fuels my creativity. - Being able to manage makerspaces as my job! I am so lucky to enjoy what I do every day. Teaching art and design has been incredibly rewarding and I am grateful to have the opportunity to do it each day. - The memories I will cherish forever of my late sphynx cat Lloyd. He was gone far too soon. While it is a sad topic, I am still so grateful to have had him in my life and that we were able to give him the most comfortable life despite the odds always being stacked against him. My husband and I still think about him every day. Simply put - he was our Biggles. Love all of the ornaments so much!!

Erica Charbonneau

1. I am so thankful that my friends and family are still alive, even with some of them developing health issues I am at least glad they are alive 2. I am thankful for my creativity and ability to do something creative at least once a week and share that creativity with my loved ones 3. I am thankful that I have been able to pursue my master’s degree in a topic I am so passionate about (even though it’s almost over and I have to find a full-time job soon)

Allison Smith

Three things I love about life... 1. Creativity - I love to find new ways to be creative and express different passions. Trying new things is always so fun even if I'm not the best at them. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to do these things. Some of my favorites are doing nail art, playing the cello, cooking, and sewing. Next up is making stained glass! 2. Friends and family - Having people who you care about and also care about you is a great feeling! After losing my mom, I don't take any relationship for granted. 3. Travel - I love to see new places and learn about the area! Visiting different landmarks and going to amazing restaurants is such a memorable experience!

Christine Peterson

Merry Christmas all! 🎄🌟 I have actually been giving thanks every morning for three things - a suggestion from my therapist - so this is perfect. 1. I love my husband - for sticking with me through it all, growing with me, and challenging me to be a better person especially when I want to be a gremlin (I am a stubborn one but so is he!) 2. I love my girlfriends - I’ve gotten closer with a few friends this year and they have been such a blessing to me! We have shared many conversations about the beautiful mystery of the world, dreams, fears, hardships, and accomplishments. I LOVE my girls for understanding me in a way men can’t ✨ 3. I love goodness - I am so thankful that everything that was intended for evil in my life has been turned around for good. I thank God for this work! It breathes fresh air into my life and inspires me.

Danielle Doll

1. Creating with my husband 2. Baking fresh homemade bread 3. Sharing that bread around the table with my friends and family.

Joanne Surette

1) My daughter. Watching her grow up into a compassionate, funny, burgeoning animal activist and lover of all things spooky is a pure delight. Being her mom has been the greatest privilege of my life. 2) My dogs! They have no idea how meaningful they are to me! They are a constant wellspring of joy - they make me laugh constantly, and I love their constant companionship so much. 3) Nature! The world is filled with so much beauty. I live in a setting where I am surrounded by wildlife all day, and I feel so lucky that I get to be a witness to all their wonder!

Erin DeWitt

1. The wonder and magic of all things nature (animals, plants/trees, mountains, lakes, the sea…etc.) 2. The mystery of life and how we travel through it together and, somehow, are able to be with the right people at the right time (good and bad)… 3. If one doesn’t like the way life is going, one can always change direction. Hope, always. ❤️ Happy Christmas and New Year to you and yours. Thank you for continuing to create. It is definitely one of my favorite things. You are an inspiration.

Paige Phoa

What I love the most in life are simple yet profound moments that fill my heart with warmth. My family in the first place, the unconditionally love and memories from childhood. Then nature, with it's endless beauty and boundless inspiration and last but not least - Animals, the most innocent fluffy souls. And I wanna add- your art, there is a certain energy to your work that resonates deeply. I love to see passionate and dedicated humans that creates someting truly extraordinary.

Diana

Merry Christmas Christine - what a lovely competition, I’ve loved reading everyone’s answers (and so tricky to pick just three!) 1. Things to look forward to - No matter how tough life seems if you have something to look forward to, whether that's Halloween or planning a trip to Salem, it can brighten the darkest of times 2. My cats - What would I do without Mushroom and Crumpet! Those bundle of joys make me laugh every day and what is better in life than laughter? 3. History - I am so grateful for everything that came before us! Whether it's amazing vintage fashion, glorious antiques or bone-chilling ghost stories of Victoriana I am absolutely captivated by past lives!

Martha Thursday

Finding it hard to pick 3 things but I would say: Animals and the beauty of nature, creativity and the more spooky things in life. Love this episode of the elf’s and I am looking forward to the live 🦇🖤🎁 Happy Yule and a Happy New Year 🥳

1. Angels - grateful to have experienced a life changing event that even though I have greatly suffered for 3 years bec of this event - it has led me to know and see that there are things beyond what the naked can perceive. I am grateful for the guidance I never expected to receive! 2. My son, my partner, and the rest of our children - and by children I’m referring to my wonderful cat and dogs. These little monsters have added colors to my life. 3. Passion for creativity - I feel like being able to create something out of nothing is a gift that we mostly neglect. I am grateful that I was able to open my eyes more on this amazing gift that gives me life.

April

1. My husband, I don’t know where I would be without him. 2. My job. I’m a hairstylist by day and artist by night. Hopefully I one day get to create art for a living at home full time! 3. JenRayCreations

1. My faith - I was raised Athiest and became a Christian about 9 years ago and I'll never look back. It has truly been an amazing journey getting here. 2. My husband - He is my best friend in the whole world and he makes life all the more meaningful. 3. My job - I work with special needs children in a middle school setting and I couldn't ask for anything better. I am disabled myself so being able to help them truly gives me/my disability a purpose.

Aw thanks Kara so much! You are so sweet! You made my Covid-y Christmas! I hope you had a beautiful Christmas yourself!

Jenny McKinsey

Kara Blastchic

These are three of my favorite things: 1. Ryan! I found the love of my life in the weirdest of places and circumstances. 2. Paco! My dad rescued him but this feathery fellow fell in love with me! 3. Waterfalls! I don’t feel like I need to elaborate beyond that….but I do chase them.

Kara Blastchic

1.) My family; and the memories they leave us when they’re here. The unconditional love they have for us is unbelievable. My dad just passed and I am grateful to have had him in my life, but miss him dearly. 2.) The ability to be able to do what I want to do in this physical body. I have been in and out of knee surgery/problems where my recovery is being on crutches. Though i am still experiencing issues, I am just grateful to be able to just walk and enjoy what I can do. 3.) My career, I’m so lucky to have found something that truely makes me feel happy to get up in the morning. I have worked in many places and I am now my own boss and it is truely a blessing. It was a role given to me by my beautiful partner for our Business and I am truely passionate and grateful.

Christina Anastasi

I love your work! My three favorite things in life are: 1) my son and husband 2) horror films 3) traveling Thank you for all that you do!

Samuel Baud

I love that we get sunrises and sunsets all throughout our lives – that any day, for no special reason, the sky might be a watercolor painting. I love that we are all humans but around the world we've created such different foods and clothing and ways of life from each other. I love that we have created art for all of our senses: music is what art sounds like, cuisine is what art tastes like, and on and on.

Brittany Male

My daugther, she's the most wondeful person. My cats are my little silly babys thats gave me hapiness every day and crafting!

I love being able to share moments with people(and furbabies) that I love. It gives me great joy to create something unique for someone. Music, crafts, and nature bring me such peace and solitude.

Leslie Langenegger

I love getting older and realizing all superficial stuff doesn't matter. I love a moonless, cloudless night with stars shining and a breeze in the air. I love a nice cold soft drink on ice.

Dakota

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! Thanks for distracting my brain Christine w/this challenge because I'm isolated away due to having my 1st ever Covid case. I'm not sure if you've seen the 1970 movie musical Scrooge, Christine, but it's super dark and amazing (I think you'd love). It's my favorite version of A Christmas Carol. Albert Finney is the best Scrooge ever. The music is amazing. Your challenge reminded me of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQZeuQBOnnA 1. I love about life that I have a husband who loves me for exactly as I am, Covid-y grossness and Gremlin grouchiness and all. My mom would also be included in this, but she knew she was sniffly, doesn't test for Covid (that's a whole other story) and she saw me anyway (without me knowing) and now I have Covid. She's on the naughty list lol! 2. I love about life that despite all the horrors we see in the news that love exists and there is goodness in the world. Sometimes we have to squint very hard to see it, but it's existence is there. Darkness is within us all, but so is the capacity for goodness and light. It can manifest even in the smallest of ways-the kind words of a stranger, someone giving up their seat on the bus, etc and it multiplies the more it's shared. Love is the reason. Love is the answer. Now I sound iike I'm quoting Love Actually LOL. 3. I love that every new day invites us to start over. If I had a terrible day yesterday (which I did lol) the next day can make all the difference and can turn it all around. It's important to never lose hope. Now I sound like I'm quoting "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac. LOL. Sorry about the Tony Robbins style answers haha. Hope you and everyone here have a beautiful holidays season!

Jenny McKinsey

1. My mum, she is everything, the best mum anyone could ever have. 2. dogs, the two I've had gave me so much love. And the ones you watch being their crazy self give so much joy and laughter. 3. Books, no matter the occasion, happy, sad, tired, or stressful, a book can take you away to a whole new place you would never have thought of. It's so magical and there are so many different settings or genres it's a never-ending adventure and mystery.

Megan

Pets, books, and my wonderful wonderful partner who makes life joyful even when I feel like shit ❤️

Sarah Kane

Amazing question. 1. Educating young children and becoming an advocate for their dignity and rights. 2. Sharing love and kindness and receiving it in return (from people, pets and animals) 3. The magic and power of nature and the universe as a whole. Especially the smell and sounds of the rain, ocean, trees,

Natalie74

1. Cats, cats, cats 2. All things creepy and unsettling 3. The joys of creativity ... The content you make is like the Christmas lights of my life, thank you! Wishing everyone a very Meowy Catmas & a Happy Mew Year!

Violette Torrance

1) my family and friends (which also includes my precious cat) which makes me feel so loved and allows me the privilege to practice love 2) my job which is steady and rewarding and pays our bills and rent :-) 3) my creativity and urge to make things, which I repressed for a long time as a busy adult but rediscovered during the pandemic, very much due to Christine who have inspired me immensely. Making something beautiful is rewarding and important even if it’s just a cake to soon be eaten. ❤️ I now take this part of me very seriously and I am so grateful for that.

Victoria

There’s so much that I’m grateful for that it’s hard to narrow it down to just three. But I’ll give it a shot. I’m grateful for today. It was such a good day. Everyone was happy. I can’t ask for more than that. I’m grateful for time. Spending it with those that I love & making memories & remembering those that have passed on & being thankful I had them with me as long as I did. But the number one thing I’m grateful for… is being me. Where I am in this life. I’ve come a long way & paid heavy costs to get to where I’m at. I can look at my self in the mirror, warts & all, & say… I love being me.

Shaunna Huntington

1. Family 2. Nature 3. That feeling I get when I complete a lampshade!

How restorative nature is (how a simple walk outside observing the birds and the trees are like a balm for the soul), quality time spent with people I love, and going out to eat for breakfast

Rachael LeBlanc

I love a good, long laugh with my Bestie, my husband's oncology team, and my son's educational team at school.

My rescue husky, he's been a handful but he's worth it 100%, My wonderful wife without whom I would go insane, And that my neighbors came together this summer to help fix my broken water pipe, you don't notice how much water you drink until you have none in your house and all of it on your lawn.

Alyssa

My family; Especially my grandkids Helping TNR cats for a better life The love from my dogs; Jewel & Jacqui

Diana Snider Forbes

1) Nature 2) Opportunities 3) Connection 🙂

Hayley

I think my three are pretty simple. Seeing a loved one smile and laugh, that warm and soft comfortable feeling you get when you are in fresh sheets and pajamas and when a cat decides to nap on you. That is when you know you are winning. I asked my husband to answer as well and he agreed to the second two but added not thinking about work. lol.

Wren McNally

It's been a hard year for me, and I'm incredibly grateful to have gotten through. The first thing I love most about life must include the chosen family I've built that's so full of love and support and I couldn't picture my life without, including all the furry family members. The second would have to be the mental health resources I've been so blessed to have access to. It's a privilege I had to go without for a long time that I don't take for granted, and I'm forever grateful to have this opportunity for healing and growth. The third thing I love most about life is that I'm still living it, and it continues to get better each year. Anyone that has experienced trauma and depression/anxiety disorders knows how hard it is to keep going, and the awe of what life can become when you do. Thank you for such a lovely prompt! It's easy to get lost in the stress of the season, and I appreciate the chance to shine light on the beautiful things clouded by it.

Beth Pugh

Three things I love most about life are: 1. my puggle, Ben Solo 2. I've been doing my dream job for a year and a half now 3. my mom is cancer free this Christmas

Melissa Lynn

Memories of Christmas Eve at my parents that can never be duplicated but make me try. The chaos Christmas morning. when all the kids bring their kids. Curling up in bed at night with my cat Vivian and "snoring" husband watching my favorite shows. Merry Christmas!

Deborah Leftwich

1. Connections with friends. 2. I’m endlessly curious, so the fact that life is constantly changing and evolving is something I love. 3. Animals 🐱🐶🐰🐹🦊🐻🐼🐷🐨🐮🐸🐞🦁

Leandra

2024 was a rough one but the best 3 things this year for me were 1. Being able to get my dad the stetson cowboy hat he’s always wanted, 2. Falling in love with my good friend of many years - we just moved in together 🤍, and getting to carpool to work with my little sister every day. Love the little things! Merry Christmas!

Lucy Knowles

My friends, my family fur and human lol, and a new beginning with me and my kids.

Melissa

For me , the top3 would be : 1) secret confessions of my 7 year old daughter at bedtime while cuddling 2) laughing so hard with friends and family that you need to stop because your face hurts (and I Would add “laughing in socially awkward moments like a funeral”) 3) swimming naked and feeling we are One with the Universe when you close your eyes while floating facing the sun

Lucía

These little shrunken elves are so wickedly cute. It would be an honor to display one, not just at Christmas but all year long. They would have a permanent home in my cozy little cottage, just over the fireplace. They can keep watch over us and protect us while also silently judging our life choices. 1. Making connections with friends, family and loved ones. Time is a precious gift that we will never get back. Don’t hold back on gifting just because, saying I love you when you hang up, invites to tea or coffee just to catch up and enjoy each other’s company. We are meant to share our lives together. Without those connections, what is the point? 2. Being in nature to stop and reflect. Nature and the changing seasons shows us all we need to know when we pay attention. There’s light and happy times. There’s time for play. A time to harvest. A time to rest. And then the cycle repeats. You don’t have to be a hiker or a naturalist to get it. A simple walk in a park or a rest on your porch in quiet observation is enough to appreciate it and take it all in. My favorite place to enjoy nature? A cemetery. Sounds morbid but it is such a beautiful place of rest. It’s manicured and lovely with trees and animals and life just doing its thing. There’s hardly any people (alive anyway) to bother you. It’s like your own private park. And to be totally honest, being surrounded by death really puts things into perspective. Will that issue that’s weighing you down really matter in the long run? Most likely not. 3. Laughter. I love a good chuckle, chortle, guffaw, you name it. It really IS the best medicine. Life is hilarious at times. And if it’s not, I try to find the humor in it. You have to have the ability to be able to laugh at yourself. Life can be so serious and hurtful. I’m not suggesting to make light of those moments. But remember, one day you might be able to laugh about it or find some humor about the situation. That’s the hope anyway. Keep in mind, we don’t get out of this alive. So laugh your ass off as much as possible. I also love animals, a good cup of coffee, a kick-ass playlist and crafting. Happy Holidays and good luck everyone!

Kelly Skelley

1. My husband and daughter who not only put up with my various endeavors, but encourage me to do them. 2. My furry and feathered family, who are always happy to see me. 3. Being able to create and attempt to create new arts and crafts with my friends.

Malikile

That life is equally beautiful and horrible at the same time. I found Christine this year, and felt I’d found a soulmate – I LOVE her! I waited on the edge of my seat for her Christmas videos, and then she made a set of Christmas ornaments of the very thing that traumatized me so badly as a child… I was horrified… That life and death are the same – the lives of those six little Elves are embedded in my soul – how they went so joyfully about their jobs and were treated so cruelly… their little faces so disfigured… but even now, I’m starting to be able to look at them and smile… maybe only cause I know they deserve that – to go on bringing joy at Christmas – to look down from that tree and say, “This is who we are now… and it’s ok… we’re still happy to be part of your Christmas!” Love is too strong a word for life… I appreciate that life is resilient… that I can watch this little Elf video now and agree that the little candy cane ropes are pretty… not freak out when Poof’s fur suddenly appears, and actually laugh a little when Christine says, “His cute little face!” Life is ironic…. Merry Christmas Merle, Javier, Lei, Harm, Ingrid and Diallo!

Ruth Friant

My wonderful partner whom I love waking up next to, my work colleagues that make waking up at 4am and working nights not so bad and my cats, they are simply too funny.

1. Trees 2. Animals 3. That we can always learn new things

Wilma

Sex, money and power 😉. Ha, ha just kidding! Food, furballs and friends/family is just about all one needs to live a happy, fulfilling life I believe.

Wednesday

I love that I have found my people: friends where I feel comfortable to completely be myself, who appreciate me in good and bad times. We support each other through so much stuff, it's like a found family. I also love learning new things and having the time to do so. I'm currently finishing a second degree, learning tons of new skills at a new job and trying to get better at my crafts in my spare time. Lastly I love that I have the privilege to be able to travel and see new inspiring places. I was able to do internships in the Amazon rainforest and Uganda to work closely with birds, bats, reptiles and amphibians and it only heightened the appreciation for nature I already had.

Anneke Caramin

Thankful for my Family, Friends and our Health, so grateful for the time we spend together. A few family members the last few years have battled very serious health issues and are now doing well. So thankful for my family and the fight they have to overcome their battles. For my Freedom, my husband is a combat veteran. I’m so proud of him and his service and reminded everyday of the sacrifices our service members give. And for learning and experiencing new things In life. Growing a garden to leaning how to make a shrunken head. Merry Christmas and Thank you for bringing so much joy to my TV monthly. I love all that you do and create.

Sarah Bartlebaugh

1. Walking and being out enjoying nature. I love being out and just enjoying the sounds of the birds and babbling brooks, even listening to the rain on the many grey days that we have here in England. Graveyard walks are one of my favourite passtimes, they are so peaceful and its lovely to get to read the names and try to imagine how they lived their lives. 2. I love the feeling of friendship, that feeling where you know that you have someone to reach out to who wants to hear from you, especially on those lonely or hard days. Just knowing that someone out there is wishing for your success and happiness that doesn't directly benefit them. 3. Animals in all shapes and forms, from getting cuddles from mine or my sister's dogs, watching the birds on the feeders in the garden, greeting the robins that hop onto fence posts during my dog walks, the rare glimpse of a fox or a rabbit late at night whilst driving or the even rarer encounters with deer and muntjack observed from afar. They are all magical creatures and every interaction I hold dear.

Natasha

What I love about Life: -Adventures, how lucky are we to be able to travel to the other side of the world in a day? There are so many beautiful places that will take your breath away ( top 3, Machu Picchu, Edinburgh Scotland, Bonifacio Corsica -Learning, it’s amazing how the school of life is constantly giving you lessons, willingly or not. The best way to better ourselves is to take them head on.( teaching myself French at 26 was a huge challenge, but I did it, and am now fluent! ) Sharing- They are right when they say it’s better to give than to receive. Too much selfishness is polluting the atmosphere these days. If we could all realize what little it takes to make someone’s day. How important good friendships are. How special animal companions can be. What a nice world we would have…

Lindsey Giese

1) I love rushing outside each morning to see which of my budding plants has grown a new leaf overnight. 2) I love racing to finish the Saturday morning crossword before my husband while sipping home brewed coffee. 3) I love the way the breeze blows fresh air and bliss through our small, but cosy, home.

Amy

I also love how we only live once but in our lives we also get several lifetimes because everything is a cycle and we never stay the same. I love meeting my new self every time ♥️

Sarah

1) My family (including my cats OBVIOUSLY!) and friends- they are my backbone and I couldn’t imagine what my life would be without them 2) Nature- I think nature is the best medicine for aching hearts and souls and just in general. Nature is the closest we could ever get to seeing God 3) Music and arts- they are the best form of self expression and they are what make life colourful and flavourful.

Sarah

- I love how the older I get, the more comfortable and content I become (bring on 40!) - I love watching my garden grow and change over the seasons and the years, how the consistent tending creates an oasis in a hectic world (a metaphor for self care, perhaps) - I love that vegan icecream is now readily available and very tasty, so I can feel guilty/proud about eating a sneaky pint to myself like everyone else

Julian Odessa

I love my little family, I can't believe I get to be surrounded by so many hilarious and special people. I love autumn and winter and all that goes with it. Lastly, I love my hands and everything I accomplish with them.

I love the way life teaches us and grows us and evolves us in so many peculiar and painful ways if you let her I love how we can lose ourselves in a lifetime over and over and over, but still somehow remain the same person underneath it all I love life and her perspective. I think that is the most beautiful thing about this earthly existence is the ability to see and find ourselves in approximately 8 billion different mirrors P.S. I also love all the normal things you’re supposed to love about life like friends and family and art and music and animals and nature…long walks on the beach, etc. :)

My chosen family (great friends who have been in my life through thick and thin and who we’d kill for - shhhhh); the realization that I actually am creative (I thought I was the only one who didn’t get that gene from my family of artists) and expressing that creativity through my medium of food (former pastry chef and current avid baker); and, the life I’ve built with my partner and our dog even tho we found each other “later” in life - I wouldn’t have it any other way!

1. The air in my lungs - that I /live/. Not to get too dark, but there's been times I wondered if I should bother, and it's so nice to be at a place in my life where living is a joy. 2. Family! My partner around the house, and receiving hugs when needed, and my family in the local area. 3. Relatedly: my local community. I live in a small community where everyone knows everyone and it means whenever something happens, good or ill, there's always someone to share it with. Someone to share the joy with, or someone to share the load of something tricky or awful. It's hard to feel alone when there's always people reaching out and to whom you can reach out in turn.

3 things I love about life: 1: The Past- uncovering treasures of the before times and giving them new life now. There is so much to learn about time and memory, so many stories- told and untold again. I feel a beautiful nostalgia for and connection to eras I never even lived through (or did I?!) 2: The Present- Some people say the key to happiness is living in the present. In this space, there is so much potential to marry the past and future and experience authenticity and inspiration. I am grateful the creative muses visit me here through dance, modeling, music, magic, and writing. 3: The Future- I read tarot with dolls and notice that, more than anything, people want to know what their future holds. I love being able to share about how shape able that future is and how much potential there is for exploration and understanding, even when I don’t always see it myself. The possibilities for love and goodness are more infinite than we think and wishes are intensely powerful.

Crickets Haberdashery

Three things! 1 The wonder of childhood. I remember distantly how everything was magical- be it the coming of Santa in the middle of the night, to the wonder of a snow-flaked sky. There was mystery and magic, which I have since in my adulthood tried endlessly to recapture. But the memory of having it is worth it's weight in gold. 🎄 2. The magic of sharing an experience. Things and moments can be wonderful, but sharing it with loved ones elevates anything and everything as you get to have the experience twice, once through your eyes and twice through theirs. It makes my heart grow. ❤️ 3. The beauty of nature: From the vast oceans and snow-peaked mountains to the delicate blooms of a flower and the mesmerizing dance of the stars, it has the quality of making the worries and stress of the everyday feel small and insignificant. It provides solace, inspiration, and a constant reminder of the interconnectedness of all living things! 🌱

i’ve never actually watched one of your livestreams but am excited for this one because my father recently passed just before halloween and my parents live in ohio, the buckeye state so i am pumped to tune into this one! three things i love most about life: 1. i’ve recently gotten into candle and cold process soap making, so being able to do those crafts and give people a gift that i both made and has a practical use makes me weirdly happy? 2. the first sip of hot coffee or hot chocolate when coming in from cold weather outside 3. when ghosts are benevolent and have a sense of humor in the shenanigans they do to haunt the current residents of their homes

Hello everyone, the three things i enjoy most in life would be... 1. The food. 2. All the sensorial things we can experiment as a humans (listening music and nature relaxing sounds, the touch and all the posibilities in it, the sight, etc... (the taste would be part of this point but i felt it need to be a point on their own). 3. The good emotions (love, happiness...) I think that this things make life worth living, maybe i missed something that i don't have in mind right now but anyway these are great things. Thanks Christine for all the comforting, relaxing and inspiring moments you bring us, i go to see (and see again) your videos when i need all those things :); i never felt so inspired before, i like a lot of videos but no to the point of really make me move of my apathy like your videos do, thanks again, really. My favourite things are often changing but the three that have remained constant are: Creating, being able to make and craft and paint keeps me sane, it keeps me learning and growing and it allows me to bring beauty to the world around me and hopefully a few smiles. I can escape and just make my space my own. Mentally and physically. My other favourite thing about life is that there is always love waiting around the corner, new friends, kind strangers, family members being added, animals.. it really gives me hope every day. And nature, it is my anchor. The sound of birds and fields of grass are just so healing and grounding. It’s suuuper cheesy, I know, but it’s true. I’m grateful to live in South Africa, our country is so beautiful and people fly thousands of kilometres to see our wildlife, and I will always be grateful I can drive 20 mins and see it. Bonus! Super grateful for these corners of the internet that connect like minded beautiful communities and spread joy and encourage uniqueness and art.

The Witchy Woman

Widdershins curled up on the wool blanket that Granny Nutt made for Uncles Arnold and George when they were boys. Its made out of old coats and weighs a ton. It reminds me that no matter how poor one may be, the love that is stitched into a quilt lasts forever. The strings of lights reflecting off of the fresh snow making everything look almost kalidoscopic. Having loved ones to well wish during this season, no matter how near or far they may be. And when a witch well wishes you, you know you are wished well! Happy Christmas from our menagerie to yours, gentle reader.

The three things I love most about life are: 1. The breathing members of my little family: The people and pets who share my world, each with their quirks and endless capacity for love, bring warmth and purpose to every day. They remind me that joy often lives in the small, shared moments of togetherness. 2. Nature and the art of creation: From the quiet splendor of a sunrise to the intricate design of a spider’s web, the natural world is a constant source of inspiration and awe. It fuels my love for creating, reminding me that beauty often lies in the balance of chaos and order. 3. The constant opportunity to learn: Life’s endless opportunities to grow—whether it’s understanding people, mastering a new skill, or discovering something new about myself. The pursuit of knowledge keeps me curious, humble, and alive.

The three things I love most about life is that every day is new and can be whatever you make of it. I love my little family (my kind hearted husband and my sweet and spunky toddler). And while it’s hard to pick just three, I love experiencing the seasons and all they bring. Like the magical feeling you only get around Christmas, the treats and snow if you’re lucky 🖤

Three things I love most about life: 1- My family. We are all so connected. Some people wonder why my brother and I are still at home and I always respond with, “we’re both not married, one day we will be, and right now is about gathering as much knowledge and stories from our parents because one day we wont have them and I want to have no regrets in that department.” 2- My fur creatures/kids bring me so much joy. Amethyst and Pearl, my cats are 10 years old in 2 months. Rose and lily, my dogs are 3 years old & 6 months old. 3- Gardening because murder is frowned upon. Jk jk. But really, watching something that you nurture and tend to is very therapeutic. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to garden year round here in SoCal.

My mothers DNA. She and I were best friends and when I lost her suddenly just before the holidays, It nearly destroyed me. But … I strangely understand her in a deeper more intimate way now that she’s in spirit. I feel her guidance and strength. I have her skill of craft and articulation. Every morning I thank God that I have home to stay warm. I can still walk, talk, see and hear. That I have a loving crazy Boxer named Willow to keep me company. And that I was born in America.

Tonda Presnall

Thank you for always brightening my day with your beautifully creepy creations! The things I love most about life are… - Opportunities to expand my understanding of the world, either through travel, meeting someone new, or exploring a topic I know nothing about with an open mind; - Stories! Any content (books, film, photography, music, etc.), people, or items that tells a story bring me life; and - Those moments when I deeply connect with someone either due to a similar interest or experience, or a vulnerable conversation. Thank you for this opportunity to reflect and share what I love most about life. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Lauren

1. First and most i love my 4 children, my husband Michael and our borderterrier Charlie and our cat Lussiebunn. 2. I absolutely love my job, it gives me a lot of joy. I am a specialist nurse, work with urology and bowelproblems for people who have gotten a traumatic spinal injury or have autoimmune disease. Its so blessed to be able to help them understand their body, why it changed the way its working and how to cope and get a good life. 3. I love to make things, knitting, sewing, crafting things. That gives me joy and a knitting, big cup of coffe or a favourite tea and my dog Charlie in a cosy sofa makes a perfect day!

Anna Hillman Forsberg

When I finally realized who I was, it was relaxing and forgiving. I could dress as I wanted, cut my hair as I wanted, and be very comfortable. I felt I would always be open to change and ever-questioning, but I didn't do that for anyone else. I finally liked myself. Thank you for all that you do! You are so creative and inspiring! You make me stretch my creativity, and that makes me happy! Merry Christmas!

Elizabeth Hammond Miniatura

Three things I love most about life… 1. Being able to empathize with others (from what I’m told rather well) and being able to hold space to validate and let people know they deserve to be heard and loved. 2. I love the animal/human connection. While I wouldn’t wish cruelty on any living being, being able to connect and help an animal learn to trust and really shine like the perfect gem they are is such a beautiful reward! 3. The lessons learned each season from the elements of this planet. From the first flower sprouting in the spring to the stillness and density of the frigid cold air of winter bringing such a peace to the environment is so humbling and enriching.

Ashley Jones

Happy holidays Christine and to everyone! I'll have to say my answer is what I'm happy about in life is having my son healthy and happy, my dog who is like my second child she puts a smile on my face everyday even when I'm feeling my worst, having a roof over our heads, just so thankful just for life!

Lilly

1. My loved ones and my pets. We lost two of our oldest pets in 2024 so this is our first Christmas without them in well over a decade. It hurts my soul but I am so grateful for every moment I did have with them. In turn we welcomed a pup (3yrs old) who needed a new home and I am grateful that she found her way to us. I love that they have been in my life. 2. I love learning from people around me and that even in middle age there is so much to learn and be inspired by. 3. I love that I still find myself having almost childlike wonder and glee about some things I see/experience/learn about in life.

Erica Holcomb

The things I love most in life are... ~Those moments where everything else fades away and all that remaines is pure joy and happiness. ~The moments when someone finally realizes how amazing they are and truly show themself some real acceptance and love. ~The moment where you see the pure pride in someone's face when they see what they've accomplished. Even more so when you see the pride in a loved ones eyes. It doesn't matter how big or small these moments are, just that they happen. 🖤 This is why I love watching Queer Eye! Btw, Dita was amazing on the first episode this season.

Yvonne

Greetings Christine and Captive, The elves are such a spooky delight and my daughter and I would love to adorn our tree with one. What I love most about life is what music does for me, and how it allows me to feel a mood I'm in and embrace it. Music guides me and allows me to feel such a variety of vibes or energy as well as how it has helped me get through some of the tuff stuff life sends my way. The second thing I love most about life is creating and watching my creation come together from concept to finished product, experiencing that entire creative process is so wild, interesting and rewarding. The third thing I love most in life is going on adventures with my daughter, visiting new places, trying new foods, meeting new people and making wonderful memories together. Thank you for this opportunity not only for the coolest creepy elf ornament but also to pause for thought on life and what I love most about it. Happy Holidays to all 💚

1. Live concerts, 2. My Siamese Cat "Bowie" 3, Coffee shops with pasrties.

1) my two beautiful, beloved, furry possessors and my captive. My three true lovers 2) walks in a forrest and mountains 3) cold and snowy weather

Katarzyna Ryter

What I most love most about life is how precious it truly is, how every moment is wondrous. There is no light without darkness, no love without loss, no joy without pain. It’s a beautiful and profoundly tragic experience to get lost in magic of life. I recently had to say goodbye to my dog, Jackson. My heart is heavy, my life drastically changed and I am not the same. But without death, there is no life. Truly a beautiful thing to exist and be loved.

Jennifer Guarino

1. Setting the perfect table – Choosing just the right linens and centerpiece to make every meal feel special. 2. Shared creativity – Crafting cards or decorations while laughing with friends. 3. Pets nearby – A cat curling up on a chair or a dog wagging its tail under the table.

Stasha Rosen

The 3 things I love most about life. .. I love my 4 cats for giving me conditional love... because with cats they do have conditions, but I still love my cats, Lucifer ( Louie) Allister ( Al) Agatha O Snickerdoodles ( Aggie) and Vincent Price. ( Vinny). I love my family and friends that are still here or who stuck around.. I love the memories of family and friends that are no longer here either by choice, death or life sinply moving you on. I still love you for being in my life!

Sara E Briggs

One - I love my support system. I built my life around people who are lovely and supportive and kind and it means so much to be around people like that on a regular basis. Two - my soul dog, Finn. He makes me laugh every day and he's sweet and silly and my life is better with him in it. Three - content creators like you that distract me from when life gets dark and instead show me that life can still be fun and spooky despite other circumstances. Thanks Christine!

1) My captive, a wonderful man I captured over a decade ago when he was foolishly walking alone at night on our college campus. He is a wonderful cook and has an excellent sense of humor. Highly recommend snagging yourself a captive of your own. 2) Sitting cozy in my living room with all my furry friends nearby: two chuckleheaded husky mixes who are excellent snugglers and one ancient cat who is, as far as I can tell, the best cat, and the ghost of my last dog curled up at my feet. His name was Jarvis and he was my soul dog, I miss him every day. 3) Sitting in the sunshine reading a good book with a glass of rose at hand. Once the winter season is done, I spend so many hours recharging my solar battery this way.

Tamara McCool

1. Loved ones and pets 2. Travel/ new adventures 3. Creating/ art and crafts

Julie Knowles

I would say cats obviously especially the ones that randomly find you on the street. To scare little children . And to stay at home in comfy clothes and bake, sew/knit like an old lady :3

Gula Kuchynka

I love the land we live on with all our animals babies. Goats, sheep, rabbits, dogs and cats. It’s beautiful and peaceful and we have a lot of freedom to do what we wish with it. I love the family and friends I’m surrounded by. I love that I have been shown how much I am loved by those family and friends!

Ken Sutton

1. The excitement I get when I find a new mushroom in the woods. 2. The love I get from my pet, and my partner. 3. Watching little women (obviously the Winona Ryder Susan Sarandon version), while I have a fire and warm drinks on the couch.

Elizabeth Rolfe

1. Having my grandparents still around in their 90s. 2. Endless possibilities 3. Being a kid in the 80s and 90s.

Amberrose Hammond

My 3 favorite things about life •My family. This includes my animals, friends, and of course my boyfriend. They truly mean the world to me and without my mom and grandparents I wouldn’t be who I am today. At one point I almost lost my mom and she’s disabled. I don’t think I’d be the same if I lost her. Everyone I surround myself with makes me want to be a better person and fill me with love. •Creation. Making art in multiple ways and being able to consume other peoples creations. Art and fashion have always been a way of self expression and beauty and I love being able to share that with people. I also love being able to look at others form of creation. Art, music, fashion, content. It’s really what makes us as a race find beauty in the small things and use that on a larger scale. •Surprises. Sometimes you can plan and plan for something and it still won’t come out right. Sometimes life gives you a surprise and it can change your life. Sometimes it’s travel, or someone you meet along the way. Sometimes it’s a cat that shows up at your door looking for a home. Sometimes it’s luck. I try and look for these because they happen all the time. Happy holidays, Christine. Hope you and your family have the best year yet. You bring so much joy to me and all of us. So happy to be here🖤✨

Noelle Nurmi

Having my Mom and grown daughter living right next door to me. Blessing of time to get creative (you have helped me be brave and I took on decorating my bedroom with rich jewel colors) and most of all my husband who is supportive and the love of my life for 30 years.

Todd

1. Everything and everyone grow and change. 2. History in general but specifically cave paintings. We do not 100% know why they were made but I think its beautiful someone thousands of years ago left their mark on the world and we can all experience it. 3. Cats :3

Kaylee Falasco

1- I am grateful that after years of emotional turmoil, I am now in a place where I can be myself and feel good about it 2- I am grateful for my loving partner 3- I am grateful for an able, healthy body and mind allowing me to enjoy each moments in life to its fullest. 4- Bonus grateful for your content, Christine. It sparks joy and creativity every time I spend time here. Thank you

1. My loved ones. My relationships are always the most important 2. Making things, creating is a compulsion. 3. My body and all the cool things it can do, feel, see, hear, and taste. 🖤 Thank you! It feels good to remember what's important

1. My husband and my chosen family. 2. My furbabies: Church, Ambrose, Aloy, and Quinn. 3. Always growing and learning new things!

Aside from the really big ones like my friends, family, my dog, health and home my top 3 things I love about life are: 1.) that Halloween comes around every year! Nothing beats that intangible feeling in the air when the nights start to draw in, the leaves turn golden and the veil thins. The holiday is full of small pleasures like the smell of the inside of a carved pumpkin and the laughs of trick or treating children in the streets. It’s something to look forward every year. 2.) Mudlarking! It’s a hobby that involves picking through Victorian bottle dumps, searching the banks of rivers (like the Thames) or beachcombing for little pieces of history that open windows into the past. I’ve found Victorian poison bottles, vertebrae bones and sea-worn pieces of stained glass windows that have been tumbled in the ocean for hundreds of years! My creepy collection of curios and oddities keeps growing and it gives me so much joy. 3.) House plants! I take such joy in caring for my house plant collection. They’ve transformed my home into a jungle-like dream. I’ve got climbers creeping across the walls, rare specimens with strange looking leaves and carnivorous plants with huge trumpets that devour flies. They’re all so different and fascinating and I love propagating them to give to friends as gifts. Just some of the things that make life special for me!

Francesca Grice

1. I love being a mother to my girls. They never cease to surprise me and bring so much joy to me and those they interact with. I’m so grateful to be their mom. 2. My ability to adapt well to sometimes crazy situations (I think this is half as much innate as it is learned from being in the medical field). 3. Grateful for my home and the work my husband and I’ve put into it and all the many many projects we have left to do together and the time it gives us to spend together working on a creative pursuit. It also helps us sharpen our problem solving skills as I’m sure you know all too well. :) Merry Christmas Christine and everyone else here. May your holidays be Merry and Bright with a little bit of fright.

Creativity, curiosity, love.

1. I am grateful to still have my parents, I worry about this often as they and I age. I am an only child so I will never not love and need them and I try to stay in the now which can be hard but I love that they are still in my life. 2. I love the comfort, love and joy my fur babies (2 cats) bring me everyday, and the love and memory of my past furkids is always with me as well although I miss them terribly, they added so many wonderful things to my world and the ones who are here with me now, still do. 3. I have a great husband , who is there to support and share a life, the good and bad, with me , and who is also my friend and companion. We are blessed to still be in relatively good health, comfortable, and to be able to do things we want to do, as we explore and experience in this world. I love seeing new things with him, building our life together and staying connected. He is both my lover and friend and I love that we are fortunate enough to love life together as a team. Merry Christmas to all, and may the new year, bring you gossamer dreams, bright hopes, and infinite possibilities.

1. I'm currently fighting stage 3 breast cancer at age 39. Loving life has become a daily affirmation and commitment knowing that it may be cut short, so any new day that I wake up to, I love. 2. My daughter and my husband are my daily joy, the ones who see me at all phases and still want to be with me. 3. The things that we take for granted everyday. I'm from Nunavut so I'm used to seeing the Aurora borealis every night but I am in southern Canada for treatment and don't see them anymore. When people start the 1:00 of their lives on social media it makes me feel apart of something grander than we understand. Videos of Aurora borealis are my favourite.

Haana-SikSik Sammurtok-Lavallee

1. Spending time outside 2. Movement (dance, yoga, long walks, etc.) 3. Experiencing new things.

This has been a hard year for myself, but I try to find positivity in everything. I love that I have my mother by my side, having lost my father, I try to enjoy every moments that we spend together, and those moments are the ones that I love the most also going for a walk, just watching the nature while listening to music. I love to be able to help others everyday, offering help to people in need. Wish you all merry christmas. Sorry for my english… Im French

Hi Christine! My three favorite things about life would probably be, 1) My loved ones, which include my little 3 year old and my partner, my parents, a few great friends, and of course my fur babies. 2) My second thing would be having a job that I enjoy. I feel very fortunate for that. 3) And third would probably revolve around being creative. I love decorating, making art, writing stories and playing music. And all of the searching for inspiration in books, nature, and content creators like YOU that come with it.

Kristina

1. Always learning and being curious 2. The life I've built with my chosen and blood families (including the fur babies) 3. My art. I don't make as much time for it as I should, but I love the price of finishing up a new piece or sharing an old one.

Derick Stephensen

1. I love every single day that comes. Growing up without my mother , I found that every passing day is a gift. 2. I love the opportunities that life strikes upon you whenever and wherever 3. Art in its many forms, whether it’s science, music , painting etc there’s this symmetry and beauty that cannot be outshined. Merry Christmas Eve / early Christmas/name day, Christine! Best wishes from Bulgaria 🇧🇬

I love that any age I continue to be a life long learner, I love the connection and bond shared with family and friends, and love lifes simple pleasures hot cup of coffee, tea and a horror movie

The things I love most about life are traveling, making art, and reading books, all of which keep me sane and are things that previous generations of my family didn't have access to.

Katrina Di Filippo

Happy Holidays to all! As a cancer survivor, my perspective on life changed a lot as a young adult. One of the things I learned was to appreciate the little things we take for granted, because they are not guaranteed to anyone and we are fortunate if we get to have them at all. So my favorite things are: 1) My loved ones. Just the fact that I am lucky enough to have a big, loving family and a supportive community of friends. 2) Animals. All of them. I'm a registered vet tech and I absolutely never get tired of a set of puppy dog eyes, or long kitty whiskers. I have a small zoo at home, too. From my horse to my tarantulas, they make life worth living. 3) Home. Coming home is a wonderful feeling and I am grateful to have one to go to.

Jennifer Premo

My favorite thingsabout life are that it's a limitless adventure, the imagination to dream, and magical manifestation moments when they finally come true. ✨️

1. It has to be my family and my found family. I’m very lucky to have a family that puts love and acceptance above anything else in this world and being able to let other people in too feel that warmth is something I treasure. 2. Travel. Weird one but I’m so grateful to live in a time where we can board a plane and fly somewhere and experience new cultures. I was luckily enough to go to Italy and Japan this past year and it made me so happy to see that kindness has no language barrier. 3. I PROMISE I’m not trying to gas you up but honestly it’s you Christine! From The Mind has become my comfort show. My Golden Girls. It’s what I put on when I have those rough days. It’s your calming voice and Grant’s fantastic music. When I hit play and hear that thunder and see the owl cabinet I’m instantly at peace. Thank you for that gift. 🖤

Sean Hill

1. The joy collecting trinkets and treasures brings me. Proudly displaying my latest tchotchke brings a feeling of pure happiness that’s just for me ❤️ 2. Romanticising the ordinary to bring a little magic to your life. I love to immerse myself in the aesthetic of my favourite stories, turning everyday tasks into something truly special. 3. Passing on knowledge and skills to others. Not only is this rewarding but knowing someone else can now sew their own clothes or repair a beloved treasure means I have sparked a little joy for them as well.

Shannon prouse

My three favorite things: 1.) My family. They are my everything and every day I get the honor of spending with them is the best day ever. 2.) Jiu Jitsu. I've been training for almost 9 years and it has made my life better in every way. The skills I've learned, the things it has helped me learn about myself, and the amazing community it has given me are all things I wouldn't trade for the world. 3.) Love. Just the fact that we have the privilege of feeling love, weather its love for another person, a favorite pet, or even just a favorite food, is amazing and I am so thankful that it's something I get to experience.

Taygan Klinger

3 of my favorite things: 1. My Lucky 7 Catchildren- Penny, Sophie, Dahlia, Mirabel, Hamish, Oliver, Dorothy. 2. Learning new DIY home and garden projects to do with my husband, who is my best friend. We’ve been inspired by many episodes of your show, including- a fancy vanity with a thrifted Martha Washington desk, reupholstering a tufted chair, a dozen Victorian lampshades, many Canadian smocked pillows, creating and installing our own wainscoting, wallpapering, dremel-ing a wooden garden sign. Our home is really beautiful thanks to your tutelage. 3. Trying old world baking/cooking recipes tailored to my family’s individual birthdays- such as traditional Filipino desserts for my parents and Scottish and German dishes for my in laws. I like to find rare hand-me-down recipes. For gifts this Christmas, we learned to grind and stuff sausages from scratch for everyone, along with some homemade jam and cookies. We also incorporate as many homegrown ingredients from our garden as possible.

The three things I love most about my life are: 1. collecting plenty of tiny and interesting things 2. brushing and setting my hair after i use hair rollers 3. laying in my bed :)

Already said my 3 but had to add how much I love my cat Ellie-Kat who we found in the alley 10 years ago !! She is the princess, as she was ment to be !!!

Mona Koons

1. My partner and my cat, they bring me so much joy and security! 2. Being a preformer, even though I spend more money than I earn. I love that I tried burlesque and test myself( I normally hate being the center of attention) 3. My health, I completely changed my eating habits and gym routine last year, and it's giving results!

Charlotte Sandodden

I love that I finally found the bravery to make a huge change in my life after several years of begrudging discomfort. I got a new job and I started seeing a therapist, and I'm excited to see how the next year goes. I love my patient partner and our opinionated dog, who both love me unconditionally. I love my friends, and even though we all have been swept up in the whirlwind of life, are always there when a call goes out.

Dana Green

What a lovely idea! I love my ungrateful and overly clingy rescue cat, Dolly Parton. She has seen me through some very tough times. I love the smell of the forest floor, and am so grateful to be in an area that is chock full of woods in which to get lost. Finally, the thing I love most about life is that I am HERE. I have a brain who, when I am at my worst, tells me many lies about the value of being on this planet. But I have somehow managed to battle my way through each time and come out on the other side. Three cheers for seeing new days through hopeful eyes!

Nature in all forms Life of all forms Those who love me and support me

ben reviews

1. I love making art, being able to share a part of myself and my vision with others and bring them into my little fantasy world. 2. I love when I can escape out into nature with my best friend and experience the majesty of the mountains, the ancient forests full of centuries of earth and dirt, and experience moments of pure joy and love for the beauty of nature. 3. I love the moment my big lil cute kitty HAM came bouncing into my life! He was a stray who was abandoned and showed up outside my place and it was love at first sight. He has been a source of joy and happiness during some hard times and loneliness, and the bond we have forged has been the greatest love I've ever had! And thank you Christine for all you share with us and bringing us into YOUR fantastical wonderful magical world! Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! x

That I’m seeing another birthday! Dec 29 Having Family near and far, even the ones who make your eyes roll be it good or bad, but yet happy to see them well My husband and son, who love and support my crazy, my whimsy, my fan girl obsession that take over everything and they even indulge my inner creepy side for all things vampire, werewolf and spooky!

Christine, you, the Captive and y’all’s furballs do so very much to enrich OUR lives. My heart hurt for you a little bit when the livestream didn’t work. I don’t have anywhere near as many folk either depending on me or looking forward to spending time with me as you do. I cannot fathom how you do it. I am just always so grateful for whatever videos or live streams you do. Three things I love about life: 1. My family, blood and chosen. Even though there are some emotions that are more difficult to handle, I get to be there with them. Ups and downs alike. 2. My animals. Both those that enrich my home life in the past, present and future, and those that I love and learn from. A cardinal brings a ridiculous amount of joy every time I see one; turtles remind me that I need to be patient and just keep on going. Animals. 3. Death. I was brought up knowing that death was absolutely inevitable. It happens to all. Because there is an end to life, I must find the positive and enjoy, make the most of every minute I can. Thank you again for all you do for us, Christine. ❤️

Tonya Moore

Three things I love most about life are: 1. Finding and discovering new things - be it art, creativity, a new song, a new skill, a new obsession. There is always something to find to enrich your life, grow who you are and make you happy. 2. People - those you love. And combining 1&2 - finding those people who love what you love and those who can teach or show you something new! 3. Animals - any and all of them. They are the cherry on top of life!

Suzie

Love this question! First, my husband and our 3 cats. After spending most of my life thinking marriage wasn't for me, I'm so happy to have found a person who showed me differently. Second, cooking! After my grandmother passed away, I took up the mantle of cooking for my family. I wish I had learned to cook much earlier so I could have done it with her more. Third, my labor union. My husband and I are both leaders in our Local and it feels good to help our members get what they deserve at work every day. Not all unions are like mine, but we do our best and we all take care of each other. Happy holidays!

Hilary Magoteaux

Merry Christmas Eve Christine, Grant and all your fur babies 🎄🧡 I absolutely loved the last project with these shrunken head ornaments! You’re so amazingly talented! One would be my nephews and nieces! I’m thankful that my siblings had them cause now they are my little best friends. It’s literally the most amazing thing and the older they get the more fun it has been. Two would be my meows! They are the reason I work so hard and long hours so they can have the best life lol they are my motivation in life! Three would be my house I was blessed to buy in 2021. It’s slowly but surely becoming my dream house and you have been a big inspiration to the vibe of my casa! I remember the first time I saw one of your recipes online I was in awe that there was someone that loved spooky baking like me! Little did I know you were the most talented person in the world!! I’m happy you have this community to follow along with your passion! I love every minute of it! Thank you for that! 🧡

1. My pet skunk baby, Apollo. 2. My favorite perfume, always makes me feel so pretty! 3. Long walks in nature ☺️

This was a very nice topic to think about. The three things I love most about life are: 1. I love my boyfriend, family, and friends 2. I love being able to create things with my hands (sewing, crafting, painting, or any new project I get excited for) 3. I love all the precious kitties in the world. I plan to give many cats a loving home throughout the course of my life because they deserve it.

Rebecca Senger

1. I am in a stable, supportive & loving relationship after decades of that not being the case. 2. My children are settled and happy, their health is improving. 3. I own my own home - no more fear - and it's just perfect for me.

I love (and am so grateful for) the many ways in which I get to make art and creativity part of my life, and I know what a privilege that is. I count myself considerably blessed to have the people and community around me that truly light up my whole little world. With love for all ~ Wishing everyone a peaceful holiday.

1 would be my mom who is so supportive of me. Very important to have someone like that in your life. 2 my dog Billy who can act like a gremlin at times but he can do no wrong in my eyes (And the little creep knows that lol). 3. Having a creative outlet in different things and at times amaze yourself what your capable of doing.

Dennis

Happy holidays💚 1) my beautiful kids, human and fur 2) our new home. I get to walk out of my back door each morning to be greeted by the peaceful woods and sunrise over a field🌱 3) Discovering my strength can come from acceptance and adventure rather than just hardship.

A. To have my grandmother spend christmas with me and the family. She had unexpectedly passed last year from cancer that the family thought she was going to beat. Her birthday is today, christmas eve. (Life/ hope) is precious. B. My pets and the dogs / cats i foster. C. My life. 1. Sentience for without it life would lose all meaning. 2. Internet because let’s face it, without it now, there would be no international access to this hotbed of creativity. 3. My Pole, because life is dance, and dance is strength and feeling. So we are back to Sentience & we’ve come full circle.

1- my parents are healthy and loving life! 👩👨 2- my 17 yr old daughter and I are the best of friends 🧡 3- I finally make enough money that I can give to important causes for animals! 🐕🐈‍⬛️🦜

1.) Learning. To gain knowledge about other people, places, food, culture, myths, science, animals, planets. It’s all so fascinating and we have such a short time here. 2.) Creativity. Not just in art but in every aspect. Watching how people uniquely solve issues big and small. Seeing how one person can see the world versus another in their chosen medium. How emotion is conveyed through music is magical. Even watching pets solve puzzles such as getting food off the counter when they know better can be a joy. It makes life interesting and vibrant. 3.) Emotions. They show you so many things about people, places, pets. How one location can stir up emotions that bring you to tears. The loss of a loved one and how that pain changes you. True love and how it is so different than the love of your family. How the love of a pet or child can make you the most fierce protector. Emotions are transforming.

She's 90, and having her and her wisdom in my life is a gift that I'm thankful for everyday. 3) Nature. Hi Christine, Captive and furballs...hope you are all having a fantastic holiday. Things that I love about life are... 1 After a long hard day locking myself in my bedroom from my 3 teenage monsters and husband and watching horror! Any horror, all horror 😂 2 Cats...my little fury boy passed away 2 years ago and he could never be replaced, but I adore all cats and watching Poofs antics makes me so happy. 3 Being home, doing my own thing and minding my own business and contradictory to what I said in number 1, I do love looking after my family...cretins or not! 😂🥰 Merry Christmas to you both and wishing you a wonderful new year, your crafting and live streams keep me sane! Almost 😊 xxx

A good story - whether I’m writing one, reading one, watching one, or hearing one I love a good story! I feel like it’s what connects us to our fellow humans ☺️

Kaila

1. The people/"family" who love and accept me as I am; some blood some chosen. The ones who stayed during my darkest days; finally beating depression after 30+ years and going two full weeks without wanting to die. :-) 2. The unconditional kindness of others. 3. The enveloping darkness at 3am; outside, with its silent eerie beauty. Sorry I cheated with #1 ;-)

Dave

Lol definitely first sip of coffee in the morning 🤣

Megan Jones

This was hard to narrow down to three. 1. To love my people and be loved by them, 2. Making things, and 3. Listening to music.

Erin

1.Nature, be it the wind in the pine trees that gives the illusion of ocean waves crashing against the shore, or the tiny spiders spinning their webs in intricate worlds that are woven within ours. Nature to me is where I find peace, beauty and comfort. 2. Connection. I love meeting people and hearing their stories, or listening to my children describe in longevity and full detail their passions and desires. I feel sometimes that connecting with others, show us we aren't alone, and give us permission to live and inspire others the way they have us. 3. Creativity. I could not imagine a life where creation was not a part of it. Whether writing a story, taking a picture or sculpting some beautiful showpiece. It's an escape into a sort of magic I haven't found anywhere else. You can birth anything, give it life. It's the closest I've ever felt to imagining how our creator must have felt.

Diane Chattaway

Cats because their silly antics and their love make life so much easier. Food because there are so many flavors and options that you can experience and experiment with and it’s my love language. Smells because they can bring back so many memories and happy emotions.

What I love most about life: 1) I'm a physical therapist and I get to teach people about how their bodies move and function. I also get to help them rise like a Phoenix from the ashes after an injury or set back and that is immeasurably fullfilling. 2) Cats. Cats make life so enjoyable. I don't need to tell you why. You already know. We are here to serve the Feline Overlords. 3) Creative flow. Whether it's a hike through the mountains or designing a Yule card, getting to experience the creatively of myself and others is magickal. I had the absolute pleasure of getting to attend the Peddlers of Hallowren in Marshall, Michigan for the first time this past September and the creative vibes were inspirational! I am so grateful!

Three things I love about life: 1. Creating things. Performing, painting, sculpting, baking...whatever it is. It really brings me joy and peace of mind. 2. Learning: I enjoy either improving on things I already know, learning new things about things I "already know", and learning new skills. Learning is something that should never stop in all parts of one's life. 3. Family & Friends: I wouldn't be who I am without the love and support from those around me. Whether it's my mother encouraging me, my friends supporting me, or just my dog resting his head on my lap while I work on a project.

Nicholas Frig

1. My kitties 🖤 The ones with me today as well as the ones who have passed on 💝 2. Eating my favorite foods, whether I order from a restaurant or make it myself (I love to cook!) 🤩 3. 🫶 I love absurdity. A little bit of absurdity in your life makes it infinitely better. 🫶 I love passion. I don’t care what your passion is about. But please let it shine. It makes you infinitely more interesting and your passion makes the world a better place. 😽 And lastly I love cats. (No explanation needed.)
