I hate that I just saw this now. I was in salem on Halloween and would have stayed out despite the pain I was in to meet you. Ugh. That broom and outfit are gorgeous. Also, as someone who visits Florida every year, swamp kitties is hilarious

INCREDIBLE!!

KILLER!! <3

You might want to look into getting a work room dust extractor and air filtration systems - they don't have to be elaborate, but it would keep your workspace clean of airborne particles that you don't want hanging around long term. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnG8uCPaffk,

I wasn't expecting to cry at carving a witch's broom, but the tribute to Mr Biggles sparked my own grief of losing two of my most precious cats this past July within 4 days of each other. I have a locket with their whiskers and tufts of fur that I wear daily to keep them close to my heart. I miss them so much, and it's clear that Christine shares the same heartfelt love for her pets. Just beautiful.

The scaled creatures you do are too real for me. They really creep me out which shows the phenomenal workmanship you do. The bat it is very cute. I always look forward to seeing your creations.

Ashes Laree

As a 68 y.o. woodworker and maker, I am always inspired by your projects. What inspires me more is that you don’t let anything inhibit you when you tackle the nuts and bolt of making anything. You dive right in, and with whatever tools you have (or need to buy) you accomplish your vision, and you figure out how to get there. Even at this later stage of life, you encourage me to just take off and do something I wouldn’t feel comfortable or secure about doing. I have always loved Art Nouveau interiors, and have wanted to create moldings in my house in this style. I don’t know what my designs will be, or how I’ll tackle carving it, but you’ve shown me that it’s really me who’s been stopping me. I can’t wait to see what I can create outside of my present skill set. Thank you 😊

Theres always a moment when I'm watching your videos where im like "wow that is so amazing, she has such dedication to her work, thats the most detail i could ever think of putting in" and then you add a whole new layer of detail and intricacy, never seems to fail. Its so Inspiring to see someone committed to their craft and put in more and more because why not!

Zo

It's so sweet that you added the compartment for your kitty. It reminds me of Victorian Mourning jewelry.

Moth

A truly wonderful creation. It's mentioned at the end of the video about another video showing the creation of the costume which I assumed would be here, however I can't see it listed. Is that perhaps due in the next day or two?

Ginko

This is beyond gorgeous!!!!! Wood carving, especially all of the little details looks so incredibly fun! I'm so inspired to learn more and perhaps make a broom of my own :)

Vanessa

I teared up at that part <3

Vanessa

My 7 year old son and I were watching with total disbelief. Absolutely enchanting. Xx

This was a wonderful watch!! The finish on the alligator reminded me of the little alligator purse that belonged to my great-grandma - it has the front feet and everything. Well done, as always! Great inspiration for me while I'm finishing my Halloween decorating finally πŸ˜¬πŸ–€

Hannah Collins

Robin D.

I couldn't scroll past without leaving a reply to say I'm so sorry for your loss πŸ’œ it's so hard when our precious fur family members leave us, they become so entwined in our every day lives, and hearts, it leaves such a void. Sending you my love from Scotland

Cher Currie

Mr. Biggles forever πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

Melissa Kerns

Wow, beautiful work! I live in Georgia and appreciate the swamp witch vibes!!

Carlee Wilson

This is just breathtakingly beautiful... Do you know the history of witches? I imagine you do, but just incase, the Salem Witch Trials happened because of the Scottish Witch Trials. Here, in Scotland, King James VI (whom my ancestor, George Buchanan, was tutor of, and his mother Mary Queen of Scots) was an avid witch hunter. So much so he essentially caused over 3000 people in England and scotland, mainly women, to be executed, many were burned at the stake in front of Edinburgh castle. As he later became King of England too the hysteria spread and trials began there. He write a book called Daemonology, and when settlers from the UK moved to America they took the fear of the devil (whom the witches supposedly were in cahoots with, and kissed his bum to prove their allegiance!) over the ocean with them. I know you're into podcasts and if you're interested you should like to BBC Sounds podcast called The Witches of Scotland, it explains how it all began and has a bit about Salem too. Also if podcasts exploring witchcraft in general are your thing look up Witch, by India Rauksen, also on BBC sounds. Being a witchy person myself, who's obsessed with all witch related things the broomstick is magical. It was called a besom in Scotland back in the 16th and 17th century. Right now we're getting ready for Samhain, All Hallows Eve, here in Scotland, the time if year when the veil between the living and dead is at its thinnest. I have a couple of spells ready to go in the hope if maybe contacting my ancestors who were from a very well known Scottish clan full of kings, Princes and noblemen and women (the fought alongside Robert The Bruce for Scotland's independence) I'd thought of something really unique to make you for the competition but I think I'll be too late to get it to you on time unfortunately , I've been too busy trying to simultaneously make an Oogie Boogie ball gown and costumes for my daughter! Sorry for rambling but check out the podcasts as I'm certain you'll absolutely love them :) oh, if you're ever in Scotland I'd love to show you around all of the spooky and dark history in Edinburgh, the plague, haunted castles, scary underground vaults.... I think you'd really enjoy the vast history but more importantly the ghosts!

Cher Currie

Such beautiful work!!!! I love how intentional you are with your pieces. The memorial in the center is stunning and so precious. You also always make my favorite bats. Please tell me you have seen Stinnett Sticks' carving videos on youtube!? Such amazing technique plus his dog Pearl sits with him while he carves and it's adorable.

Amy Miranda

Oh Queen...I need more adjectives! Crafting a broom is on my list for 2024. The hidden treasure box for Mr. Biggles is such a beautiful tribute. It sounds like we all teared up at the memory of a now departed beloved familiar. Happy Halloween! (P.S. - my voodoo doll will be in the mail on Monday)

Patricia Kelly

I lost my familiar last January and your tribute to Mr. Biggles is inspiring. πŸ¦‡πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸŠ Your Broom is stunning and I am sure you will be casting quite the spell in Salem on Halloween πŸŽƒ

Kim Chunn Gonzalez

Just got back from Salem and made a broom at the Witchery. No comparison to this but a fun easy craft. Would of went nuts to of seen you and your art.

Judy Marini

Christine, this is wonderful. And the memory of Mr. Biggles encapsulated in this broom is such a healthful way to remember him. Thank you for sharing and may your hands remain ever strong and nimble in your work. Thank you for sharing πŸŽƒ

Oooo a gator! I went on a couple of those swamp tours while in New Orleans years ago. They like marshmallows, one guide said. :) The broom is amazing, and your reveal shots in autumn cemetery are lovely!

Racheal Jones

LORENA Zitelli

Absolutely AMAZING... WOW!!!!!

Doreena Clark

This is so unbelievably gorgeous and your little bit of secret witchcraft in there actually brought a tear to my eye, that is so special. Also when I saw all of the pumpkins you bought I literally went "WOOOOAH... CHRISTINE!" Out loud, alone in my living room lol

Sarah Kane

I was about to ask that too. Strange that it's not here as Christine mentioned it in the Witches Broom video.

Ginko

Amazing and very heart felt tribute to your kitty. <3

Shannon R

Oh! Does anyone know where the dress video is linked? I can't seem to find it πŸ˜•

Laurel Schrock

This episode is spectacular! I love how the broom came out.

Laurel Schrock

Wonderful and inspiring project, as always ❀ The way you included Mr Biggles is so touching. Today marks 3 months since I lost my familiar Lillybel and you've got me thinking of ways I can honour her.

Karen Creftor

Another beautiful creation. Thanks for sharing this with us. Your videos always make me feel calm and relaxed.

Trevor Howell

Very nice, as always ty

Paul and Lynne

That was incredible! It turned out just perfect 😍

Zoe

Oh Christine, I just finished the video and the mementos from Biggles got me hard. We just said goodbye to my little girl, my own familiar, this morning and I thought maybe I might finally be done with tears for a few hours. Oh I was wrong!

Sarah S

Just beautiful! Your talents always amaze me! Such a sweet gesture to include something of Mr. Biggles.I made a rustic witches broom a few years ago, just a tree limb and some dried lady's mantle tied on the end with twine and a few fancy ribbons around the handle. lol I make crafts...You create art.

Leslie Langenegger

I loved the video!!!!!! πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€

Megan

I love that you made this broom a memorial to Mr. Biggles. I lost my Dobby kitty last year, and the care you took choosing bits of both of you made me both smile and cry.

Wendi Miller

This is so incredible! What I wouldn’t give just to come visit you and learn from you!

Rachel Goldstein

πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€this one is for Biggles. It's absolutely beautiful.

Emily Schwall

This turned out absolutely spectacular Christine! When you said you were going to incorporate the "Swamp Kitty", I wasn’t sure what to expect, however; the finished product is truly beautiful (the added sentiment for Mr. Biggles is a precious touch). Thank you for sharing your amazing talents, God Bless! πŸ€—πŸ’œπŸ™πŸ»

Rebecca Ude

This episode was so meaningful. I teared up as you talked about Biggles

Laura Chambers

Ahhhh!!! So excited!

Megan

Oh my YES....I loved the first broom and I KNOW this one is going to knock my socks off!!! Thank you, Christine!!!!!!!

Sherrie Potgieter

I was just planning to make a besom for Samhain. Carving is such a great addition! πŸ§ΉπŸŒŒπŸŽƒ

Ashley

I cannot wait to watch this. I have the trunk of a black walnut sapling that I've been saving to make a broom, but I'm scared to try carving it!

Mina Murray

I have been so excited about this one!!! I can't wait to watch it! I'm busy working on my voodoo doll right now though. Maybe I can wait!❀️

Jess

That’s the most precious little swamp kitty that I’ve ever seen!!!!
