How beautiful has this all turned out! πŸ’•πŸ’•

Liana Palumbo

That's very true. Lol

Kris P

I love it! I am convalescing at the moment from a bug… during the holidays! No shade to my MIL’s guest room, but I wish I was in yours! If you are friends with any delicate flowers, I would have back-up sheets on-hand: cheap pillowcases for people who use Benzoyl Peroxide on their face, and an unscented set of linens for people with skin sensitivities or respiratory intolerance.

Alex B.

But she won’t have time to make videos after handsewing all of those t-shirts.

Alex B.

Thanks for the tip on the feet.

Frannie

I think the only way those sheets could have been nicer is if you had done some embroidery along the edge. You did a wonderful job on everything.

Where exactly is Sleepy Hollow? Please.

This turned out beautifully!

Laura Chambers

What makes your videos so homely to me? The fact you always have an owl somewhere. I LOVE owls. When you incorporate an owl, I get so much joy.

Marina salinas

That bed looks divine! Perfect for snuggling in on a dreary winter's day!

Tammy R Dowden

That was very interesting - here in austria we do bedding very differently. Actually tucking in a blanket is a big no-no here - when I travel abroad with my best friend the first thing we do when arriving in a hotel is to "free" that blanket (and I'm always very annoyed because most of the time that's not easy). And about the toes - especially in summer I sleep with my feet uncovered on purpose... way to hot otherwise. (I have never seen an austrian hotel where they would tuck in the blanket - maybe in a hotel that is targeting mostly international guest, but no normal one... so if you plan on visting vienna in the future, don't be surprised to find the blanked folded (in half) placed in the middel of the bed.)

Aline

Still completely in love with this room πŸ¦‰ The only thing I iron is guest bedding πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

Amy Bainbridge

Breathtaking! Very pretty! I'm interested in what mattress you have on the bed? I just bought a vintage king. Now I need a mattress :)

DeEtte Cunningham

Absolutely breathtaking Christine! One of my cats β€œhelps” me with making the bed too, it always brings me such joy n_n

Hannah Graham-de Vries

Same! Hahah

Small tip for ironing velvet is to use a velvet ironing pad or for small pieces a Velcro also does the trick. Otherwise those little fibers will crush and lay flat an you leave an imprint.

Ellen

Loved when Christine was like "and then your feet never have to stick out in the cold" - First thing I do in any hotel room is yank that beautiful pleated tuck right out. XD I'm one of those weirdos who likes to stick their feet out at night.

The Lady Kwiller

Christine you are an inspiration! Please come down to Sleepy Hollow, ny this season! I’d love to show you around and give you a tour of the Sleepy Hollow cemetery and The Old Dutch Church Burying Ground πŸ–€

Danielle Gonzalez

The colors of the bedspread and pillow cases are simply delicious. And I can only imagine slipping into those nicely pressed sheets as feeling divine. Christine you are just too much, and I love it!!!!

Judy Campanella

As always, I am entirely enamored with all you do. Small tip with velvet! If you press the velvet using another scrap piece of velvet ( pile to pile) as a pressing cloth, you won’t get the high shine from the iron. It protects the "hair" of the velvet!

Gunnar Deatherage

What a beautiful room!!

Lori Ratcliff

It was so funny I was complaining about how my apartment was so hot, even my animals are over heating. Then I look over and Molly, my older black cat, she's snuggled in under the thickest comforter looking very pleased all bundled up with her arm crossed. It was like, Ok, well not Molly.

Stacey Kirkbride

Thank you! It is awesome that someone is sharing the intricacies of bedding.

Thea Maia

How are your clothes not covered in dye when you do that? I just look at it and I’m getting spots on mine!πŸ§‘πŸ–€

Kim Sucato

In Norway back in the day when it was really cold during the winters they would make something they called a "Foot Bay" at the end of the bed, basically tucking in the sheet. I always make a Foot Bay :) And they also had something called a "Over Sheet", like a flat sheet under the duvet. But something I think you would love is how they were decorated. If you google "gammelt overlaken" or "antikt overlaken" you can see some examples :) I really like how some of them have the crochet lace say "good night".

Annichen SkΓ₯ren

ooh ironed sheets. I don't tend to do it but it does feel amazing.

Kelley

It's the attention to detail that gets me πŸ–€ This reminds me of how my gran used to make the most amazing beds. Four layers of blankets. The sheets were so tightly fitted, you'd have to wriggle under them from the top opening, feet first. Super cosy ✨️ 😊

Lilith DuBois

Brilliant Ideas I will definitely use in my own home....wish mine looked that yours.

Laurie Ann Kondylis

Oh mr biggles❀❀ good to see you… I hope you are giving them hell in kitty heaven xx

Cee Fee

I liked the "smell" tip also! I never thought of that. Your guest room has it all with this. Perfect ambiance, visual, touch and scents, who would ever want to leave? I thought the idea for getting a king size pillow case and cutting it down to test for the dye was brilliant. I was wondering though, does the temperature of the water have to stay at a certain temperature? It seems like the water temp would cool off quickly in the large vats outside. Thank you for this episode!

Deb McGrath

So beautiful! And I love those Boll & Branch sheets. They are so comfortable and they launder well. They are worth the cost for sure.

Lauren Turek

I agree I go back and set my brightness as high as it can go to try to see.

Shaylin Cecere

Hi Christine! I absolutely love your work. I have noticed sometimes the beauty shots at the end of the videos are very dark which makes it difficult to see the full beauty of the piece and takes away from all of your hard work leading up to the reveal. I know it’s a style choice too but I have found it hard in the last few videos to really take in the work because of the lack of light. This is not a criticism, just an observation I wanted to share in case I’m not the only one who desperately wants to see more of the details! Thanks as always for your great work!

Rochelle

Christine, the bedding was beautiful! You do such a good job on every project you tackle! I'm watching the Golden Girls as I write this comment. I love Rose! πŸ˜†

Pug Lover

Uhm my husband laughs at me but I iron the fitted sheet when it's on the bed. It's all stretched out then. 🀷

Ciara Allen

I do the same with pillows. Just make sure to tell your guest they can use whichever pillows they want and suggest somewhere in the room they can put whatever pillows they don't want to use. I had someone come to stay who complained that there were too many pillows and she was uncomfortable sleeping with them all in the bed - it hadn't even occurred to her she wasn't required to sleep with all of them.

Hayley Roberts

What do I have to do to be your guest?

Antoinette du Bleumourant

My cats do the "put the bedding on top of me"when I'm making the beds too. I thought they were the only ones!

Amber Mills

Loved this episode!!! Thank you!!! Have you ever smelled Tyler Diva scent???? Amazon has it in many different varieties. I love it. Now I can infuse it into my sheets!!! Thank you for all the great tips!!! Thank you for the photographs I just got!!! They are wonderful!!! I hope you are adjusting to life on the East Coast & loving it!!!

Alice Doerge Adler

Love love love the tip on how to scent the sheets. I swear a little smell-o-vision happened on the slo-mo shots after you showed how to make the scent mixture. And it was so nice to see a clip of your sweet Mr. Biggles. I’m sure he’s still playing around between the sheets from time to time when you make the bed. 🀍

Katie Milone

Gorgeous. I actually thought for a brief moment that you were going to embroider something on the pillowcases.

Victoria Golos

Can one of the contests be us all guessing what Professor Poof is a professor of?

Jennifer Kavjian

Oh! This makes me want to jump into bed and cuddle cats!

Linda Chandler

Lovely episode. I wish you sold merch. I need a Christine McConnell t-shirt.

Kris P

As the maples and oaks start to put on their fiery scarlets and shimmering golds of fall, it’s nice to cozy up to a Christine McConnell video of yet another amazing and elegant project! I think many people are intimidated by the thought of dying such large pieces of fabric, but when a person takes the time to do the research and dye tests, the result is a truly beautiful and unique. Thank you for showing us what can be done! By the way, Rowena is great brand. I’m glad you didn’t let a handful of bad reviews sway you. They last a really, really long time. And the tip about lightly scenting the water for the iron… I’m going to start doing that. It’s so refreshing and relaxing to slip into a bed that smells great. Thank you!

Tammy Warner

Fantastic room I love this episode thank you so much see you SaturdayπŸ™‚πŸπŸπŸπŸπŸ

Magdalena Mojica

Happiest of Days Kim! I hope you have a great birthday on Saturday!

Jess

OMG thank goodness! I thought I would turn to dust before I got to see you again!πŸ˜‚β€οΈ

Jess

First, I want to be on the list to hire Professor Poof to come and help me make the beds. I can only afford a week but he will be well fed, carried around and loved on and possibly, maybe won't want to come home. But I will return him. Secondly, I use honeysuckle and other flower scents in my own perfume that I make and think the idea of going to sleep with a hint of honeysuckle in the air blissfully heaven. Gardenia is another heavenly scent to think about. All this said, you make my world a better place with every video you post! Thank you!

Anna Radaelli

My kitties are the same way! They love to play in the sheets while I make the bed. I pretend its annoying but really I love it.❀️

Sarah Riddle

I would totally take a nap in that bed!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜΄

Kelly (Nellas)

Beautiful video Christine! Love to see your joy in doing the seemingly mundane tasks such as ironing. You made it look like a pure pleasure. Your videos are so relaxing and tell the captive I love the background music!

Nancy L Marx

this is absolutely magazine worthy oh my goodness!!

Joseph Ambuul

In my head you were wearing a giant pointy witch’s hat while stirring your fabric in those dye baths. 😁 I loved watching this process and I feel inspired to glam up my own bed. Oh! I once also had a cat that liked to get in the bed while I was making it and hide under the sheets. A few times he even managed to crawl under the sheets to take a nap after the bed was made so I’d come in the bedroom and find this nicely made bed with a lump in the middle.

Elisabeth

Happy Fall! πŸŽƒπŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸŽƒ
