I'm not crazy about smarthouse tech, so I bought radio-controlled plugs with a remote. Turning the lights on from across the room fills me unholy glee. Thanks for the inspiration!

I was wondering have you ever done a similar video where you organize your wardrobe or maybe accessories/shoes? For years I have been trying to find inspiration for my own that isn't the IKEA white box wardrobe approach. Not that there is anything wrong with that btw, but your approach to your vanity but with a wardrobe would be wonderful.

2022-05-03 21:24:26 +0000 UTCLove this, and will take any and all organisation videos you want to make tbh haha. For removing the drawer lining btw you can soften wallpaper paste with warm water and fabric softener, just apply it liberally and leave it for 20 mins and then peel off :)

2022-05-01 19:42:27 +0000 UTCChristine, I was thinking that if you were concerned about any rattling or instability of the lamp shades you had to wire onto their bases, perhaps a thin rubber ring, spray painted to match the metal, would be helpful. The kind used in canning, or something you cut out yourself out of some rubbery material, like a yoga mat, except thinner.

All those cosmetics, stc., make mefeel quite inadequate, though, as I don't have enough makeup to fill a little strawberry basket. I put it on in the bathroom, too, no room for a vanity, although I do have a waterfall-style one in the basement. There's a window in the loo, and the light is crueller than any over-frank lamp! 😮

It's amazing to see things we can potentially do in our homes to so we can get that 'vibe'. I appreciate these enormous intense episodes Christine does but I love these little ones just as much. They bothered me until I realized that I was putting them too close to my lash line. I could definitely see them not working for some people, though! If anyone is interested in trying them but doesn't want to spend that much, I've switched to a brand called Lilac St. and they're excellent.

I grew up in an old house with lovely crackling fires but have ended up in a 1950s house in Wimbledon, London so no wonderful Victorian splendour here (lots of tennis though!). I would love to see how you do your makeup sometime. My son is about to play a Victorian boy in a rather scary film with Julia Garner and his bit is set in a spooky Victorian theatre in flashback so I will get the channel my spooky Victorian vibe there for a few days watching him. 😂

Right now my makeup is all on top of the vanity, and the drawers have my gloves, hair flowers, and other hair accessories. The Martha Washington desk tip is brilliant! It always seems like organizational stuff has to look so modern and it’s really difficult to find inspirational videos for organizing/staging with beautiful, classic antiques.
