I am a new patreon subscriber. I do not know what cemetery you chose but Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx is the most wonderful magical place. Many prestigious people are there. They have a jazz corner consisting of Duke Ellington, Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis. Authers such as: Herman Melville, Archibald Grace IV (survived the Titanic). Ironically Isidor Straus (founder of Macys) is buried at Woodlawn (in an egyption style tomb) he refused to a lifeboat until all women and children were saved. His wife Ida refused to board her lifeboat to stay with her husband. She gave her spot on the boat to her maid along with her mink coat. Ida's body was never recovered. All the mausoleums have Tiffany glass and on Halloween they light them from the inside!!!! Woodlawn is also a registered Arboretum featuring more than 392 unique tree species and cultivars.

Highgate Cemetary, London, England. Beautifully spooky.

Drsammie Mcglasson

Can you run the lighting mechanism through the top and use it as a ha going lampshade?

Ellerie “Sit in Your Tears” Maddox

Does this dye stick to washable latex paint? I think Christine used chalk paint on the eggs, which I think is basically textured wall paint. Unless I got that wrong, if anyone could please say.

miz vitko

So fun! And i'm so excited for the lampshade and vanity episodes as ive been looking to buy an antique dressing table. Happy Belated Easter Christine and Captive!

Rebecca Kettle

THIS episode was just the best it was so funny and fun🐥🐣🤓

Sam Hussey

me too!!

Ester Brunini

Christine! The Midsummer Scream that you will be doing meet and greets in Long Beach California, it says you will be there Saturday and Sunday. Do you know what time the meet and greets start and end? They are having a sale on tickets today and tmr. Just want to make sure we have the time and dates right before we purchase! Do we buy any extra tickets to do the meet and greet, or is that something we find out once we get there? Thank you in advance!🖤💜🦇

I have a growing collection of vintage Tiffany style lamps that I’ve acquired through thrift shops and been given as gifts. I would love to see you design and craft a Tiffany style glass lamp shade! I’m sure you would make something so incredible. ♥️💕♥️💕♥️

Elizabeth Manoukian

My favorite way to dye eggs, is 1 cup hot water per color, 2 TBS white vinegar. And 10 drops of food coloring. You get such a pigmented colored egg.

Cora Kathlea

Maybe a spray gesso would work better as a base?

Amy Plante

This was such a fun craft along! And I was excited to hear you're visiting Savannah soon! I live near Forsyth Park and the city is such a beautiful, magical, creepy place. Hope you have a blast!

Katie

Ahh! I just discovered Cannons recently too! (I am also a fan of gunship) the video for Bad Dream gave me Silence of the Lambs vibes. 😍

Anne Uzelac

I personally really like the jack-o-lantern faced egg. I would probably add a bit of gold to him as well so he isn't embarrassed in front of his fancy friends. 😜

Bat-A-Boo

I was thinking this the entire time! LOL. Great minds.

Bat-A-Boo

Agreed!💜🦇🖤

Can I just say how much I love, love this episode? Christine, you are always so fun and genuine in the content you post, but this one, in particular, really just made me love the work you do even more. You took something on that you weren't sure of, made it okay to not get it perfect, shared everything that came along with it in such a cool way--and did it all LIVE. I know it is probably so damn nerve-wracking to put yourself out there like this, especially when so much content put out there nowadays doesn't see the light of day until it is "perfect". I don't tune in for perfect! I tune in because you are one of very few who actually bring a human side to things. Thanks for this episode--and every other too!

Erica Oliva

One day I will catch a live, but in the meantime thank you for this fun episode. I'm so excited for the lampshade as my daughter and I had just opened our Etsy store and I make lampshades with all second-hand sourced materials. I've sold 3 shades in the 10 days our store has been open so I'm really excited to see what you do. I always learn so much from you and yes hand sewing everything is so much better than hotglue. I really hate that stuff, burnt my fingers when I squeezed the trigger too hard and it took off all my skin😩 PS you look gorgeous 😍 please don't feel the need to explain why you are you. Much love Liana xx

Liana Palumbo

I had an experience with one of these too. Weirdest feeling to be totally shocked by literally nothing there. Christine thanks for sharing and Rachel for your reply! Totally going to look into this phenomena!

Katie Milone

Hahaha! ‘I respect that’

Katie Milone

Another cool way to dye Easter eggs for the future is if you're ever at a consignment shop or goodwill or anything and you come across some old worn silk fabrics, you can dye the eggs with the material and they come out beautifully! Here is a great explanation on how to do it: https://ourbestbites.com/silk-dyed-eggs-aka-tie-dyed/

Jane Good

I think the egg you originally dyed in blue actually looks pretty good once it had dried. On the subject of ghosts, have you watched HBO Max’s Ghosts? It will make you feel better about living in an old haunted house.

Sandy

Ooo (in reference to the ghost story) shadow people! We used to get them in one of our old houses. If your ever bored and feel like a spooky pod check The Ghost Story Guys podcast - the most recent one had some shadow people stories I *think* it’s funny either way!

Rachel Guy-Whittle

The cats should determine what's happening, they've got better senses than we do. 😸

miz vitko

Cannons :D

Christine McConnell

I can’t remember the name of the band Christine talked about~ do any of you remember? Thanks

Deborah Wiltshire Whaley

But really, Debbie. Pastels? ;)

Lindsay Cahill

Try shaking a can with some coins in it when the dogs bark and say "no!". It's how I get mine to stop barking or doing something naughty.

Lesley M Sgro

I had same thing happen to me in a gallery I was setting work up in. I even wrote it as a story. People call them shadow people

Keely

You must be psychic! I just picked up an antique floor lamp that is missing the lamp shade. I was about to research how to make an antique lamp shade, but now I can watch and learn from your next episode. Can't wait!

Jodi Moore

This would also be great for Easter wreaths and floral arrangements

Victoria Elsom

That was so fun! Thanks for doing this! Is the contest already open or does it open at the end of the month? I'm new here so I am not sure how it all works :) <3

Twyla Faere

I liked your bunny napkins. I saw a diy candle video where a women separated the first napkin layer. Carefully tore the pic after outlining with water using a paintbrush. She layer te Pic on a white candle. Then took a hair dryer directing air on candle to melt wax. The napkin picture adhered. When it dried was covered in tecwax like it was painted on! So cool!

Linda

I think any fabric could be used to cover the frame. I just worry about what to do with the bottom of the frame since realistically after I take the bottom off it would just be wooden and metal bars with nothing to hold them in place. Just dangling.. ya know??

Brandy Lambdin

I have to share this! This English guy is restoring a chateau in France---17th centruy I think---and it is mind boggelingly beautiful To Die For! If someone could share it so Christine sees it too, I think she would adore it. https://youtu.be/YTkvkFrJ28Y

Alyne Whiteswan

Happy Easter everyone! It's so nice to see you Christine! Thanks for keeping me company while I paint.

Alyne Whiteswan

You have to watch it on Youtube.

miz vitko

You can cover it with a frill maybe?

miz vitko

Or from the email she sends out to remind you when it is.

miz vitko

I think I just missed it, lol. 🐣

Mardi Shakti

I'm sorry I missed it but it was beautiful out and my beloved offered to take me out for ice cream and a walk along the water. I couldn't resist!

Mina Murray

That was so fun, Thank you!

Brandy Gunter

Oh, My apologies! Click on the YOUTUBE logo on the video, it'll take you there.

Amanda Upchurch

You are the key to unlocking this mystery for me, thank you for taking a minute to explain that to me and help me. I didn't even realize it was there.

Melissa Catron

Thank you, I just have no idea how to access that part of it.

Melissa Catron

good pronunciation Christine for a suite of jewellery, I think I will remember to pronounce it by thinking this per rur rhymes with per fur

Carol Jollymore

In regard to East Coast Easter weather, in Nova Scotia I call April "Little Winter". When we were children we would get a new dress and shoes and go to church and we would be outside after church freezing to near death but so happy to be shed of winter coats and boots we never complained once.

Carol Jollymore

You should see Hollywood Forever Cemetery's Day of The Dead celebration! Others to visit, Greenwood, Laurel Hill, Sleepy Hollow,Bonaventure Cemetery,Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois,Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, Calif.,Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, New York. Overseas the options are endless.

Tina M Ruse

Did you know that tomorrow is international bat appriciation day

Linda Chandler

Random question: I found a damaged vintage birdcage. It's gotta round frame. Im thinking about trying to use that to make a lamp and lampshade. What are your thoughts? The bottom of the cage is the damaged part. Removing the flooring wouldn't be hard. Just making some kind of bottom rim has me stumped.

Brandy Lambdin

But how do you access in YouTube?

Melissa Catron

Yes, I always click the "watch on You Tube" selection on the video! You'll see the comments on the side as people make them

Rachael LeBlanc

She's answering questions from YouTube, just in case you're wondering.

Amanda Upchurch

Right...I thought that too. Maybe YouTube?

Amanda Upchurch

On the video she’s responding to all these things, but none of it’s here? Very confused

Melissa Catron

She has the patience of a saint!!

Amanda Upchurch

Is she using another App for folks to post their questions and comments to?

Melissa Catron

I'm late! So sorry! Can't craft along though... I'll sit and watch the magic happen! 🎩 🐰

Amanda Upchurch

Would love to see you do a marbling technique next time with black, gold and red...

LT Schulte

There can be only one!

Victoria Elsom

Hi my friend!!! So great to see you! Miss you so much!

Luanne Hermann

Vinegar is often used to remove fabric dye perhaps try the fabric dye with plain water

I'm dying both natural chicken eggs and the painted plastic eggs. it works on the plastic eggs but is very pastel. Deep tones aren't possible it seems. The paint probably can only absorb a small amount of the dye. They are pretty anyways.

Marilyn Maier

Christine, have you decided what you will be doing at the Halloween-Con in S.Cal in July?

Melissa Catron

Love your sense of adventure
