July Livestream! Sunday the 25th at 6:00 PM (EST) :D

Hello!

This Sunday have some tea and cookies with me while I catch you up on all of the things that are happening! :))

A photography episode is coming VERY soon and next month we are finishing the dress form!

A patron had a great suggestion I'm going to try out... if your timezone makes this stream too difficult to watch live, please leave a question in the comments here. I'll pick several and I'll be sure to answer them as well as include your name in the stream.

We will also be talking about the August contest and several of the things I have planned for this Fall...

Can't wait to see you!

-Christine

P.s. I started feeding an outdoor cat on the front porch and that slowly turned into feeding two cats, a skunk, a pair of raccoons and my very favorite... a possum :D

July Livestream! Sunday the 25th at 6:00 PM (EST) :D

I love possums. Glad someone is looking out for all the critters.

TDF FDT

We started feeding the feral cats, trapping them and getting them fixed. Had to use our local vet, since we're way out in rural GA, and there are no TNR programs. So far, they're not really feral. Now we have 6 indoor kitties living the good life. I can see how this can get out of hand. We have a very aggressive and too smart for traps Tom named Blue stumping us. But we're working on it. And I'm pretty sure he will not be all loves and cuddles like the rest we've adopted. He's welcomed to get back out there, testicle free, and murder them rodents! 6 cat kids is fun but a lot of work, and the dog thinks they're weird. Keep up the good work saving those little souls ๐Ÿ‘ The possums and raccoons we trap are relocated in the far away idyllic state parks to keep them away from our chickens.

Jessie Sebbo

I too feed a stray cat, two skunks, two possums and coyote lol. The good is really for the cat, but what he doesn't eat, the others will..............just not at once.

Magen

Love the possums the best. We have a few at our house that we feed as well. Fun fact: they came to the west coast as pets. One of only a few invasive species that has not upset the eco-balance of an area they are introduced to. :)

Heather Hill

Hi Christine... I am in Australia, so the time zones will never match, but I love the videos you post as I can watch them at a later date. May I suggest a local garden or forest walk at night in your area? Most especially at this time (we are in lockdown again and cannot leave the home unessentially), I would love to see a bit more of the area you have decided to call home. My thanks in advance. xx

Tasha Mondel-McCann

What a stray menagerie! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Looks like the word is out about the free buffet up at the big house! ๐Ÿ˜ฌโ€ฆ ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฆจ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆกโ€ฆ ?

Kerri L Neighbors

Do you not think animals can co-exist? I am sure the domesticated cat knows where to retreat. Much of the wild-life minds their business unless provoked lol

Cecilia

Christine, please contact the local shelter, tell them you have many feral cats in your property, they will come and put traps and spay and neuter them and release them. Please, they might not socialize normally but the food may be bringing them together which will increase the chances of mating and reproducing. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Sandra

less than 5 minutes from the stream and i am not entirely sure how this works. do i need a link?

Emily Schwall

like Rose haha

Emily Schwall

I also feed many cats and critters from my porch! I have about 10 feral cats that come around, along with a few racoon and opposum families.

Erica

Aren't skunks just insanely cute?! In Margaret Atwood's "Oryx and Crake" series, future geneticists have crossbred raccoons and skunks to be pets and call them rakunks. I know it's a dystopia and all, but I NEED a rakunk!

Hello! I have a more personal question for you if you are comfortable discussing it- do you ever have creator's block? You always seem so productive and it makes me wonder if you ever deal with creative droughts and how you deal with them. Thanks!

Sillypineapple

You had mentioned that you were going to focus on decorating the house. One of the projects that you had planned was updating lampshades. Are you still planning on sharing your decorating ideas? I was really looking forward to those episodes.

Judy Siettmann

Hello! I was wondering, do you have an interest in other older time-eras as well as the 30s, 40s and 50s? I was thinking like the Turning time (younger iron age), the Viking age and the Medieval time? I think you would really enjoy it due to your interest in history and horror history :)

Ivriniel

Probs not on my own here but I struggle to find recc's for Dremel bits for craftwork - a lot of talk online is all for big woodwork stuff not silly fiddly work. If you have any go-to's for smaller stuff I'd love to know. Also just generally any craft tips - like keeping brushes alive and what you look for in the basic craft tools as everyones learned different things so can be super handy! **edited as I was writing that and scoffing a pastry and apparently I can't multi-task that!

Rachel Guy-Whittle

I think she mentioned that it would be the gentlemen's smoking room.

Gorgon's Eye

That's a great question! I have the same problem.

Gorgon's Eye

Hello, Christine, love from Lithuania! Not sure if I will be able to join, so I really wanted to ask how do you deal mentally with the fact that there is so much to do in the house, especially when each project is taking so long to finish? Our house seems to never be finished as well and it is driving me crazy ๐Ÿ˜œ thank you for your art! ๐Ÿ–ค

Rลซta Kavaliauskienฤ—

I would like to know if you are going to be writing another book? Are you surprised how much your book is selling for online? Crazy high prices!

Keely

I will second this. I had some squirrels chew through my roof. A large walnut tree beside my house had gotten tall enough to start dropping it's walnuts on my roof. It was in a area that I couldn't see what was happening. Eventually I started to see water damage on the ceiling on the 1st floor from rain. The squirrels had made a nest in the attic and was storing the nuts up there. Weird how the water damage missed the second floor ceiling.

Deb McGrath

Curious if you plan to show us designs for your kitchen remodel! I believe you mentioned something along those lines but wondering if you have made any plans. :)

Lydia Montagnese

I would feed the critters away from the house. They will connect up that the food is coming from within & will start chewing doors & windows to get in. This did happen to my sister in law. A squirrel chewed right thru the corner frame of a window & got in the house, then couldnโ€™t figure out.how to get out. My sister in law was on vacation so the squirrel was stuck in the house for a week & did an immense amount of damage. I applaud your helping the wildlife but I recommend you be safe & feed them in such a way that they donโ€™t connect the food to the inside of your house๐Ÿ™‚!

Gwyn Ronsick

Possums eat Lyme disease carrying ticks and the skunk will eat grubs that destroy lawns, they are both good animals to have in your yard

Shardith (Mar)

I was curious what size wire you use on the Arachnid Ornaments? Thanks! :)

Jodi Seward

Thank you for feeding the critters. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Can't wait to see the dress form done. Trying to imagine what you would do to it to finish it out..exciting stuff.

April Brockman

Gurl, you are crazy feeding those wild animals. The raccoons will soon be digging their way into your house. Lord, I shutter at the Opossum. He/she will be making a den near your house and that skunk will stink up your air forever. Never mind, the cats may be attacked by these creatures.

Nancy Jones

Hi Christine, how has it been adjusting to living on the east coast in New York, in such a tumultuous time? I wish you and your family well. Iโ€™ve been a long time fan. Angel ๐Ÿ’—

Angel

Awwww yay! I had a baby opossum find his way into my house a few months ago poor thing lol took me three days to catch the little cutie so I could put him back outside so he could find his mommy. I saw her the second evening and told her I was trying to catch her baby. ๐Ÿ˜‚. Excited to see what you have been up to!!! Have a great weekendโ€ฆ.. I will try and watch Sunday! ๐Ÿ˜˜โค๏ธ

Kimberly Nickerson

Hello Christine, I look forward to it! I am not sure I can make the live stream but I will look forward to watching it soon after. My question is ....how do you reward yourself for your projects completed? Do you use dressing up as an incentive or is that just part of your daily life? Thsnks! Have a great live stream! Xoxo ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŽ€Joanne๐Ÿ˜พ

Joanne Zaborowski

If you were not doing all this, what would be another dream vocation/occupation/obsession you would be spending your life on? (no limits) :D (in other words your "other" self - LOL)

Sophia Z

Love this question!! :D

Sophia Z

Hi Christine, my husband tagged you in a photo of a coffin guitar case that his father and I just made for him for his birthday. I used your coffin box design and we went for it!! It turned out great thank you for your inspiration. I am a nurse in Calgary Canada, but i also am a photographer and that is what my BA is in, I often do alot of photoshoots for bands and muscians. My question for you is what is a better investment a gimbal or a drone camera. I have a steady hand so i am leaning towards drone for birds eye views as well as being able to get some of the great forestry here in our provence. What do you think?

Killian Kincaide

Before you know it you'll be starting your own sanctuary!! That's exactly how it happened to me ๐Ÿ˜ Excellent idea about the timezones and questions. I'm in Australia so unless I'm up with a sick animal I always miss out. I love restoring antiques and will watch anything I can to learn what I need to do. However, not everyone is as thorough as you are in your explanations. I have a 1900 Vocalion phonograph that was brought over from America after WW11 and I have an antique German porcelain doll in pieces that I need to restring, paint a face etc. If you ever have time, which I know it's precious for you, I'd love a how to on fixing either. Also I'd LOVE a shopalong to antique stores, op shops, flea markets etc with you. That would be AMAZING ๐Ÿ˜ Lots of love Liana and everyone here at FMNAS xx

Liana Palumbo

Request: Could you please re- post the recipes for the fillings of the chocolates you created for your Silence of the Lambs Valentines Basket? I looked and looked, but I cannot find them in any previous posts. Thanks so much! https://youtu.be/HQDVYxuOCcU

rachemus

Hi Christine! Do you ever make stuff for your cats or dog? Now that we know youโ€™re a wiz at cardboard, would you ever make a cardboard scratching post or bed that would look appropriate for your Victorian home? I loved that beautiful coffin that you made for Ditaโ€™s cat.

Sandy

I'll be on vacation, so will need to watch the re-runs! No questions, just look forward to each and every episode!! Thank you! Sherri

Sherri

The live stream is in the middle of the night for us in Australia, but that's ok. I watch it when i get up with a cuppa. This is great being able to ask a question on here prior to the event. How early do you start preparing for halloween and will you decorate the inside and the outside of your house?

Rebecca wiesniak

Hello Christine! I've been greatly enjoying your content and I am curious to know if you have already decided which room in your house you plan to tackle next to show us some spooky updating and renovating ideas. I'm excited to see what's next.

Denise Osborne

Hello from San Jose CA. It's a great time slot for me, I'll see you Sunday. I have no questions just a suggestion I would love to figure out a way to do a victorian style floor lamp but with the base of a naked lady. If anyone can figure it out is you Christine. ๐Ÿ™‚ How can I put one together โค HELP

Magdalena Mojica

Hi Christine! I never make any of the live streams because I live in australia and unfortunately full time work prevents me from watching. My question is: How gruesome do you like your halloween? I LOVE Halloween but I always lean towards more of the โ€œwholesome, cute, elegantโ€ side of it. - Vee from Australia (thank you!)

Vi

Bonjour dear Christine, I truly hope I could watch the livestream on Sunday but since it will be around midnight Iโ€™m not sure yet. In case I canโ€™t I have a silly request can you you wish me a happy birthday ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜, Iโ€™ll be 33 tomorrow, youโ€™re a real role model for me, the past year was hard dealing with a rare autoimmune disease and watching your videos and livestream truly helped me so itโ€™ll be so so sweet. Kind regards from France ๐Ÿ’•. Cindy

Cindy

Hello Christine!! 1st of all thank you for all the incredible content its truly a joy seeing what you create :) I had a question and I was wondering if you would ever consider taking on making a vintage inspired television with your own twist on it? thank you and much love!!

Jack Beheler

We have a giant racoon who lives in our apple tree in the front yard. He scratches his belly and just sleeps in the branches all day ๐Ÿฑโ€๐Ÿ‘“

Katherine

I think it's a skunk.

Aunt Debbie Halloween

Yes on the photoshop tutorial! I would love to know how to do the pic where there are a few different versions of yourself in the same picture.

Elizabeth Goldkind

Hey Christine! First of all, you give me life. The tedious details, planning, the VISION that goes into everything you do inspires me tremendously. A couple of questions. When will we be seeing your gorgeous new car? And have you ever dabbled into welding or glass work? i.e., potion bottles, drinking glasses, daggers? One last question. How do you go about creating surreal elements in your photographs? Like the octopus arms coming out of the fridge. I'd personally love a photoshop tutorial. xoxo - John Ortega

John Ortega

Hi Christine! In your California house you said you had an Apple TV connected to a vintage TV set, could you explain how you connected the Apple TV?

Amanda McThenia

We are in the U.K. and sometimes I stay up to watch and sometimes I donโ€™t but I always love watching! Itโ€™s so fun to join along with tea and cookies or whatever you choose. We would love if you would say hello to my daughter Matilda who is five. She watches with me - sometimes she takes my snacks or has a go making the craft.

Vicky Neish

Living in Crestline I have the opportunity to do the same, I leave a large trough of water out and feed all my vegi scraps to my wildlife sanctuary as I have deemed it. You are amazingly talented and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos.

Angelina Cox

I would love an update on how all your indoor animals are doing in the much larger NY house. Your kitties bring me so much joy, with their unique and adorable personalities.

Siren Joy

Ah, feeding the stray and wild babies! So nice! I plan to be there - but my question is, "What are you decorating and activity plans for Halloween in the new house?" :) Love you!

Racheal Jones

I would have no problems feeding the animals around my farmhouse, but here in rural Vermont, feeding animals means also feeding the neighborhood bears. Which is apparently frowned upon.

Tiffany LaGrange

Did you have trick or treaters last year in the new house? Any plans for your outdoor decorations for this year?

Jenna Windham

I appreciate how your aesthetic transcends many of the spaces you show us in your life (e.g. house, clothing, cooking). How do you organize that process or spend time imagining new outlets? how do you transition to making the time to create your vision? Are there spaces in your life where you hope to grow your aesthetic presence/vision?

Allison Jahn

We feed 2 outside cats and one is pregnant. And a raccoon named Shorty, he has no tail. We don't know what happened. But I am very nervous about the pregnant cat.

Sherry Thomas

Question: When you did the painted wallpaper in the Forest House and then again in restoring missing patches in your current dining room, did you use just flat acrylic paint like the kind you get at Michael's, Joann's or Hobby Lobby? Thank you

rachemus

If you could make a film with you as the lead, what would it be about? I could imagine you in a film, a bit like Elvira's films minus the risque-ish aspect haha

Amy Watler-Thomas

I fell into the same trap๐Ÿ˜ I feed seven cats, numerous hedgehogs, birds and squirrels. Love them all. Got the cats spayed and neutered tho.๐Ÿ’ž

Judith

The skunk looked like some sort of large fish on my screen at first and I thought you'd edited in some sort of cryptid at first!

Elizabeth Moss

Possums are great. Theyโ€™re one of the few natural predators of Lyme disease carrying ticks.

Carolinian Classroom

It's the real Rose! She followed you to your new house, you'll never escape her ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lily Wainwright

Sounds good and looking forward to this livestream. I will get my tea set up and bake up some delicious vegan shortbread cookies :-).

Mononoke Adams

Do you miss your other house in California? You made it so beautiful just wondering if you miss it โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

Gina Radford

I canโ€™t wait for Fall ๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚ also I love the wildlife you are accumulating ๐Ÿ˜†

ZombieChomper

Question: whatever happened to your picnic basket/record player video, and is there any way for patrons to see it?

Gincredible

So looking forward to it! Also Christine, may I ask what security camera you use? The pictures are so crisp! Mine are always so grainy lol

Jennifer

My parents had a pet skunk before I was born and it definitely had a cat's personality ๐Ÿ’š

Samantha Huth

Thanks for those pictures. What is the animal in the upper right hand corner? I can't make it out. Land Shark?

Sara Weinberg

My first time to see the live stream Iโ€™m so happy to see it ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰greetings from Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ and see you Sunday ps : I love everything you do you are the best ๐Ÿ’‹

Lorena zitelli

Would you be able to do a Meet and Greet the next time you're in Southern California? Would love that!!๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿฆ‡

Danielle Gutierrez

Looking forward to it! ๐Ÿชโ˜•

Janeen

I'm so excited!!! This will be my first live stream!!!!!! I can't wait to be a part of it!

Emily Schwall

Awwww I feed the wilds too โ€ฆ itโ€™s so interesting to see what shows up!! ๐Ÿ˜ป

Miss Pam

Yay!!! So excited!

Cidney Ko

Congratulations.....you're a farm! Thank you for giving us SO much to look forward to!

Michelle Lofthouse

Tea and cookies are my favoriteโ™ก I love feeding wildlife as well! Not a fan of the skunk spray but I have heard they have a personality similar to a cat.

Taylor Makenzie

I'll be heading to rehearsal at exactly that time, so I'll catch you on the replay!

Mina Murray

Question: How do you plan your projects? Do you architect out the details and calendar it out or do you shoot from the hip and work from inspiration only? Everything you create is exquisite and done with impeccable detail. Just curious how you like to work! Thanks, Christine! (PS. I'm a CA - NY gal too) xo

Stephanie StClaire

Hello Christine! Questions: What's your favourite Halloween creature (in general or for a costume)? If you know them, what's your favourite among the Tarot's Major Arcana?

Danilo Genovese

Oh hooray! I'll be home from camping just in time!

Sara Logan

Yay! More furbabies! ๐Ÿ’•

Cindy Kessler

Beautiful

Sharon and Colin Bahr

You would be wonderful at TNR! I wonder if you're trained already?

Kendra

Yay canโ€™t wait to watch even if itโ€™s after the fact! My question is, do you plan on doing a dress making video once the dress form is finished? I would love to see what your process is :)

Nikki

Question: What are your Halloween decoration ideas for the house this year?
