Gothic Napkins

February 27th Live Stream! 3:00 PM EST

Comments

For clothing that is too small, you can actually do insertion lace. It's a Victorian method I learned from Bernadette Banner and I've sized up a couple pairs of shorts and a shirt using that method.

Frances Kell

Yes, I would *love* your mom on a livestream. One of the main reasons I enjoy you and your show is how much it reminds me of me and my mom when she was alive. She was such a witchy vamp goth Lady with a capital L - she even looked like you, it's crazy! and we spent many nights sketching, listening to music, talking and making things all my childhood, at the kitchen and dining room table. Your videos remind me so much of the best time of my life with my favourite person in the world. Please also the dress alteration one!

Canelle Friis

Oooo, livestream, I can’t wait! Let’s all be best friends, ok?!

Welikemeatloaf

Jerri Landers! Yes, we love her too!

Stephanie

Thanks, Mina!

Tammi Harris-Crocheted Atrocities

Really good choice.

Léonie Sableblanc

You're very welcome!

Mina Murray

Mina Murray, thank you.

Sharon Brito

Sure! Print the pattern at 75% and it will give you an 18" napkin or about standard dinner size.

Mina Murray

Cant wait for this months videos!!

Rez NYC

Hello Can this napkin be scaled down? I would like to make some for everyday use.

Sharon Brito

I absolutely loved this!! I’m moving further up the east coast towards the end of the year, and once I get to my new place & settled , I’m making it my mission & goal to try my hand at all these amazing projects!! You are truly inspiring & a gift Christine!! Thank you for always sharing these videos, your talents & these amazing projects! You’re amazing!!! Lots of love to you 🧡💛🖤❤️

Paulette Mickle

New video soon?

Catherine Heasley

1) YES PLEASE CRIMSON PEAK MOVIE!! One of my all time favs. Total masterpiece. 2) I love the movie night even without watching along! I always watch your streams and do my own little crafts, like embroidery or painting, so just know, even watching out of context is fun!

lavenderskyze

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! We Love you Christine!!!!!!! :P

helen crawford

They'll be worth the wait, I'm sure! So excited!

2OddRavens

They are coming!! :D Pulling it all together was a bigger task than I anticipated, but you should be seeing things posted by the end of next week :)))

Christine McConnell

Something that I'm still interested in knowing more about are the spirits in the house? I remember on the tour visit - which prompted me to subscribe on Patreon - it was mentioned we'd hear more about them. On the next video I think there was a mention about keeping it quiet. I'm in England and so in love with East Coast architecture and homes. I was looking forward to getting that feel for the history of the house and anything still holding a presence there. Just some feedback if you're open to sharing more about the house post tour video :)

Autumn

What happened to being swamped with episodes this month? Swamp us please!!!!

helen crawford

Can't wait for new episodes! It's already March 10th :-)

MiLora Tur

I could see maybe £100 if it was a good quality usable dress form.

Vicky Neish

I am confused. What is the name of the fabric that is being used?

Nicholas Frig

Watched a bit later & enjoyed very much. Thanks.

Tamara Nelson

Before you asked about the sewing machine noise, I was thinking about how people who go to YouTube for ASMR would probably really dig it, along with all the other crafting sounds in your videos.

Felicia

If the metal straws are too hard, you can also try the glass/pyrex ones. Surfside sips makes some neat handmade ones and you get some very cute designs with skulls or octopuses

This Enchanted House

I have been to Beatrix Potter's home and nearby village. So lovely. You HAVE to go. So charming. I also have many of the collectible UK currency (coins) with her characters on it. So cute. I think, though, I love her mycology art the most. https://www.brainpickings.org/2015/07/28/beatrix-potter-a-life-in-nature-botany-mycology-fungi/

Alexia Wilson

dress form

Peggy

+3 (all ladies in my household) for the dressform

Sonja Corterier

I would love to see the dress form tutorial!

Molly McCann

please do the dress form! We've been waiting forever to see you make one! also $150 max budget for a dress form I think would be good. because you want to make a cool custom carved base, maybe suggest to others that they can use a wooden coat rack as a base. I've bought one for this particular project off of Amazon for only $24!

June Yorke

I would love to meet your mom. Plus crafting with you would be so cool!

Linda

Can't wait to make this!

Christina Titus

To sum up the napkin sewing process (organizing my thoughts before I start): 1. Starch the fabric square (cut on the straight grain) 2. Mark the outline on the fabric 3. Iron strips of Fuse-N-Tear on the reverse, under the outline 4. Stitch over the outline with a tight zigzag stitch (don't start on a point!) 5. Cut the fabric away from the stitching. 6. Stitch over the existing stitching with another zigzag stitch, stitching toward each side of a point. 7. Tear away the Fuse-N-Tear. Tada! Ready for monogramming or folding. Did I forget anything important?

Mina Murray

Loveeee these napkins! I want to make mini ones and keep them as decorations! Much cute. Was it napkins for February and wallpaper and dining table for march? Like two episodes or a big one? I love these activity lifestreams like the baking one agesss ago in your old house ❤️ The film one was fun, crimson peak is beautiful so that would be a great one, but tbf any film that's stream able is great, apart from Marvel 😂 lollll Also a weekend holiday prize would be so cool. I'd travel across the pond for that!

Amy Watler-Thomas

Well, the easiest way to start with real plants with so many kitties, is to plant things FOR the kitties! All the cat grass, catmint, all the mint family really... or spider plants! (I neglect the hell out of my spider plant and it won't quit producing babies!)

Izile

I would love a golden girls movie night!!!

Maria

I would love to see the dress form and also the spring dress 👗 😍😍😍

Maria

It was so fun when you have over your colleagues from the Netflix show, it would be nice if you do a dinner with them!!!

Maria

Hemlock Grove is good.

Christine Mooers

The drive ins a a perfect pandemic safe thing to do when its warmer (I think I'm about 45 min from you in the capital region of NY) this area is special in that there's more drive ins than any other place in the country...maybe world? and I'm not sure why. A lot have catered to older movies especially during the pandemic, this pass season alone I saw. Hocus Pocus, Casper, Lost Boys, Jaws and back to the future.Theres about 5 to choose near me and I want to try one that's a little further in Greenville that only plays old movies. A couple years ago I went to the one near Cooksackie that plays old horror from dark till dawn, they do it every year early fall before it gets too cold. I believe that is called from dead till dawn. We should get a group tougher and go 🖤🖤 Where my spooky people at? ❤️😍😍

Lyndsay Grimes

Yes to Mom!

Linda

OF COURSE! I think I'll just be doing the dress form episode first since it's the one I've mentioned a lot :D

Christine McConnell

can we do both the lampshade and dress form

Linda

I've been watching the old Dark Shadows on Tubi and Pluto for free.

Tammi Harris-Crocheted Atrocities

Hemlock Grove and What We Do In the Shadows.... <3 Can't wait for the next season of WWDITS. Wish they would have continued with Hemlock Grove.

Tammi Harris-Crocheted Atrocities

Or 7

helen crawford

You make whatever kind of video you want. I’d watch you scoop dirt into a bowl for two hours.

Cariushka

I got the time wrong! Yikes. I missed.

Judy K. Zamlen-Spotts

Voltaire's Spooky Christmas Special on YouTube is really good too.

Cheryl Kirkpatrick

Legend from 1985, Labyrinth and The Hunger with David Bowie are really awesome too. I like Tim Burton's Dark Shadows visually but the script was not great-like the show a lot better.

Cheryl Kirkpatrick

Chernobyl on HBO is also pretty terrifying

Cheryl Kirkpatrick

If you are looking for great TV show to stream try The Terror Season Two, True Blood, Channel Zero, 30 Coins, Carnival Row, Hemlock Grove, American Gothic 1995, LoveCraft Country, Castle Rock, What We Do In The Shadows, and New Adventures of Sabrina.

Cheryl Kirkpatrick

Try the movies The Love Witch, La Llorona, Daniel Isn't Real and Host on Shudder they are really good.

Cheryl Kirkpatrick

so sad i missed it live but fun to watch over and over! Great craft along.

Tara Belle

This is awesome I had a bit of a hard time seeing everything. I would make them smaller and use them as place mats. I'm more worried about my table being damaged than my napkins.

gwen kearney

I love hop along hollow :)

Bethany Baker

I'm late but getting ready to watch now! Some day I will make it live to a live stream!

Lindsey

Thinking about the real plant options, ivy's are prone to spider mites...and both ivy's and ferns require a lot of moisture and humidity (which is why I kill every single one I've had). Super easy plants to start off with (but can be toxic to cats so would require a home that the cats cannot access) are pothos and zz plants. Neither require a ton of sunlight and aren't super finicky when it comes to watering.

Ashley Jones

Hallo, es ist noch jemand von Österreich dabei - das ist super :) machst du viele Projekte nach? Falls ja, hast du vl ein paar Einkauftipps? Manches ist bei uns ja kaum zu bekommen 🙈

Nathalie Riegler

Pushing Daisies is one of my favourite shows ever! Ended way too soon.

Sonya Colley

so looking forward to the mini videos

Nicola Fordham

I just joined last night. I love it. But, I have a lot of stuff I need to do. I will be crafting with you all.

Lisa Greener

There are a few historical mansions in NYS in the Albany area, we toured them for school field trips. I wonder if any of them have kitchens that are from the same time frame that could be used for design ideas?

Christine Mooers

I found a used dress form for 250 it’s not my exact size it’s a little bit smaller but make up for that with padding... I made a duct taped one... it fell apart.... I think you’re better off just spending money on a professional one 🤷🏻‍♀️ Doing it yourself can get very expensive

cassie ward

So fun!!! 🦇

Rachael Becker

Christine, you could get some palms for your solarium and create a beautiful victorian palm house. Best advice is to mist and water lightly initially and then gradually build up as they acclimatise. Also leave off in winter completely

Dawn Hargy-Louden

I'm having my own commenting q&a rn just watching it sorry lol

Summer Rose Barnes

This was my first craft along. Thank you, it was so nice to be here. I look forward to what comes up in the future. In the meantime I have some catching up to do, I still have a few videos to watch.

Kristin M.

Dress form april! Id spend 500 bucks

Summer Rose Barnes

Next month mini episodes sound perfect

Summer Rose Barnes

I get buyers remorse too! It's ok lol, I found exact looking napkin rings 25 bucks idk quality yet I will see when they get here lol

Summer Rose Barnes

Your lampshade is so gorgeous I had my heart set on the lamp shade idea.

Vicky

The pallet of colors for the dining room are everything! Peaceful, romantic and Victorian. Love to see your mom on a future episode. I also noticed the name Richardson on the side of that wood tray. Is there a background story?

Karen Horner

Are you going to tackle the bedrooms this year?

Mia0909

Would you do a video on making a bat house?

Bernadette Schmidt

Pushing Daisies is the ultimate: death, mystery, highly stylized... and lovers who can’t touch.
