2020-04-22 13:02:29 +0000 UTCMy mom used to have a case of old Avon makeup, and the highlight of my week was when Avon came in the mail, because we'd rotate the makeup and I'd use my little sister like a practice doll. I really miss some of the older shades, as somehow they seemed to match my fair skin tone better than modern cosmetics. I would really love to do something like Christine did in the previous video, converting old bottles and compacts. However, I don't have access to any except overpriced ones on Ebay and Etsy. I'm always looking locally, but thrift stores are all shut down and some might not even be opening again. We have a new indoor flea market that I haven't even had the chance to see yet, as it opened just before the quarantine. I really miss Christine's videos, I hope she posts another one soon. In the meantime, I have been deep cleaning my apartment and trying to turn it into a home, making repairs, boxing up things I don't need daily and taking it to storage, etc. I can't wait to fill my walls and bedroom with vintage things and drive my husband crazy! Lol

It is really nice to have someone so calming and nice like Christine to watch and learn now that I'm mid thirties and finally want to! Christine's videos are my happy place and I am so appreciative that people like her exist, especially now.

I have to go back and watch the episode where you transfer everything into the gorgeous vintage containers because I missed that one. I also really want to check out the Scandalwood perfume! I see that their line is (at least allegedly) cruelty-free, and I've been looking for some new cruelty-free perfume options! <3

2020-04-09 00:19:02 +0000 UTCLoved this! I also use the same foundation, having trouble with around my eyes too. They're always purple/blueish around the eye itself. I'd sometimes use an orangey/yellowish base concealer/color corrector and then paint over that with foundation.

It was a really good tutorial, and you do a lovely job applying your makeup like an art project, and the end result is stunning - but do you realize how pretty you are without makeup? (and yes, yes, I see the flattering lighting - but please) It could be very freeing to march out into the world barefaced on occasion, especially with a face like yours!

I especially loved your tip on transitioning black and brown eyeliner. I was going to suggest you try out Besamé cosmetics which replicates historical color and makeup. I love their lipsticks. They also carry cake mascara which might be something you might like. And a suggestion to making your mascara tube beautiful, you can always cover it with gold leaf. I’m sure it’ll make the outside beautiful plus you can do it to several mascaras at a time if it works.
