The Invisible Cougar

Vanish's Diary: Day 3

Pool pump is on the fritz again, so I called Jonathan over to fix it. Kailey would probably kill me if she knew that I was still hiring her old high school sweetheart to do odd jobs for me, but my husband is never around and shit still needs to get done around here. Besides, Jonathan does good work and I know he needs the money.

That boy has grown up a lot! I still don't know why Kailey ever broke up with him. He may not be the brightest bulb on the planet, but he has muscles to spare and he's always been polite to me. Maybe they'll work things out again some day when she finishes her degree. Who knows?

I caught him smoking on the back porch again this morning, which I've asked him not to do. I went outside to bark at him for it, but then he took off his shirt and, oh, baby! I just kind of froze there for a minute, staring at him with my mouth hanging open, but then he started to turn towards me and I dashed back into the house, blushing like a school girl as I ran.

That should have been the end of it, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. I know, it's ridiculous. He's practically half my age, not to mention that he's my daughter's ex-boyfriend, and not to mention that I'm semi-happily married! I'd never even thought about Jonathan that way before, but he's no longer the awkward kid that he use to be. I still don't know exactly why, but I got it into my head that this would be a good opportunity to workout my vanishing powers. I have to concentrate to maintain my partial translucency, so why not see if I could concentrate and use my powers while spying on Jonathan? That's a pathetic excuse, but it made sense in my head at the time. No doubt my hormones were thinking for me.

Can't say that I regret it. The view was spectacular. Since I still can't fit into my Vanish costume, I had to do this little training exercise in the buff, which made it even more exciting. I was spying on him for about fifteen minutes before I started to get tired. I could feel myself becoming more and more visible and I had to sprint back into the house before my powers wore off entirely. Close call, but Jonathan had no clue that I was ever there. At least, I don't think he did.

I probably shouldn't have done it, but what's the point of having invisibility powers if you can't use them to check out the pool boy every now and then?
