September 2022 Full Preview! Mechanoid Extent!

September at Cyber Forge brings a unique release and a lot of one-of-a-kind miniatures including a promo Demi Hawkins crossovers from our Lobotomy 2 board game that is getting very close to its premiere.

The future offers countless virtual realities, flashy toys, AI pets, interactive tv shows, everything to keep the young minds endlessly occupied. And still, kids will choose to sit in a basement and play make-believe games using just some miniatures, dice, and their imagination. They are not even spending any money! What is the point?

Well, we will need to find a way to make a profit off of them some other way. With just a little bit of surveillance, we can monitor their silly roleplaying adventures. Now, let's say that during the game they have been fighting killer mechabunnies. Later, with some targeted ads, they will be offered mechabunny merchandise created by their ideas - toys, holos, avatars! We take their own ideas and sell them back to them! 

How cool will it be?

Not. Cool. At. All. The Basement Dice Club got sick of the endless monetization. They wanted to have things that are just theirs, just between them. Hahaha, but hey are just kids. What are they gonna do about it?

CrypToys building is a well-known skyscraper in Titan City's center. Flashy and attention-drawing, with every wall being a large outdoor screen projecting non-stop advertisements. It holds the company's offices and headquarters. But this is about to change.

Zdebbie Martin wandered into the gigantic toy store located on the second floor just before it was closing. She chose one of the containers filled with plushies and dove inside when no one was looking. Employees took a bit before finishing their shifts and arranging everything for the next day but no one spotted her.

Once it was safe to get out, Zdebbie crawled out and approached a window. The whole gang was already waiting on the street down below. Using Deita's extending ladder device they all got into the building. Now it was Bart the Fart's moment to shine. He took out a jar with his very special personal concoction from the backpack and everyone put their masks on. He opened the jar next to a vent and it started to vaporize rapidly.

After a moment they took off the masks and went straight for the stairs. A couple of flights and they were on the workshop level where the company kept toy projects on computers. A couple of workers were there, but sound asleep thanks to The Fart. 

Patrolling drones, however, remained unaffected and started chasing them on sight sending out tasing pulses all around. Sky hopped on her skateboard and gathered their attention so a swarm focused on her. She maneuvered between the desks, hooping off on obstacles and avoiding the beams. 

This gave them just enough time for Just Justin to take Demi Hawkins on his bike and quickly reach the motherboard. Demi took off her protective headband and touched the machine. In a rain of sparks, she started to absorb to power and data of the entire CrypToys company. 

She opened her eyes and there she was in the Mechanoid Extent. A state of reality that manifests the computer data and is accessible only by a few planeswalkers who have to be very careful with their powers. While in the extent, Demi has summoned all the toy project ideas stolen from their latest adventure and started to pierce the membrane between the plane and reality.

And so they started to come out one by one. First, the Gigeroids who quickly crawled onto walls and through the vents onto higher floors for a bloody hunt. The Gigeron pondered the children for a while, before smashing through a window and climbing the outside of the building searching for prey.

Alarm now echoed through the entire building and first-response cars started to arrive. The Jester Troupe was busy piercing the dead bodies and laughing maniacally. Abyss Carriers, too large to fly indoors, were smashing through the walls awkwardly causing fires and random damage. And finally, he himself, the Lord Necra. He levitated outside of the building and started gathering energy to pierce the skyscraper with a single blast. The night became bright with the power accumulating around him. 

The whole Dice Braker Club was standing hypnotized among the surrounding cataclysm. Mere seconds before the final blow someone grabbed Demi's hand. Jenny Silverleg or rather her mechanoid impersonation winked at them and pushed them towards the exit. 

They were looking together as the building collapsed among the crowd. But they were not sad nor terrified. They knew it had to be done.

They wanted our ideas? They can have them.
