YAHOOOO I finished the lineart for the deskmat!! HEHEHE I'm so so happy with how it looks :') There are some things I might keep tweaking (like, the river running into the foreground hill at the bottom edge) but I'm still SOOO stoked on it!! Unfortunately, my iPad isn't powerful enough to handle a file this size for coloring (the piece is roughly 10k pixels by 4k, and I currently can only have a max of 6 layers ;-;), so I might have to figure out how to color it in Photoshop by using my iPad as a mirrored tablet of sorts...or! Maybe it is finally time to upgrade my iPad to a slightly newer model; this iPad Pro 11 is from 2018 and has served me so well :') I definitely am going to vlog my coloring process, since I sort of locked in and hyperfocused yesterday and forgot to film as I worked on this lineart ;; But I took a couple screenshots, so you can swipe through to see a bit of the process. I used the uni pin 10 brush from Wendy Xu for the whole illustration, sized up to about 65% to accommodate the canvas size.
I also wanted to make a version of the illustration that would work as a coloring page! It's sized for 8.5x11 paper, and you should just be able to print out the PNG -- you can download it by clicking on the attachment below.
I hope you're as excited as I am! I'll probably use this same brush to do the lineart for the keycap illos too, which are my next focus after I figure out how I'm gonna color this giant piece : ..)
