an important announcement: Welcome to Sophie's Tea Room!

Hi y'all!! So, I've made another change to the tier structure of this Patreon page -- I've decided to consolidate everything into one singular $5 tier, and I'm calling it Sophie's Tea Room! I was inspired by Rebecca Green's "Dessert Club" model, so now, for $5 a month, you can become a valued guest of Sophie's Tea Room. :')

As a member of Sophie's Tea Room you will get:

• access to the Patreon exclusive bi-weekly podcast

• exclusive co-working streams every Monday morning

• weekly photo diaries every Wednesday

• ad and sponsor free YouTube videos

• and access to my entire archive of posts, which is almost 8 years worth of Patreon exclusive content :0

And then, you can expect the occasional bonus rewards -- stuff like digital downloads, sketchbook tours, maybe random extra videos here and there, behind-the-scenes process posts and the like.

✸ WHY DID YOU DECIDE ON A SINGLE $5 TIER? ✸

I've been trying for a really long time to figure out a sustainable model for my Patreon, as my capabilities and limits have shifted over the years -- that's why I made the tough decision to get rid of the physical rewards at the end of 2024, as I just couldn't keep up designing and packing them myself every month anymore. I also found that there were particular rewards I had trouble meeting when I wasn't doing well mentally/emotionally, and it made me feel awful that my lack of spoons was interfering with the quality of my Patreon page.

So! I thought that creating an achievable standard of content every month, for one fixed cost, would give me the base expectations I needed to meet, while also allowing me the flexibility to mess about and post more niche or special content if my time/energy allows. I feel this is also a useful tool for getting past the paralysis my perfectionism has had my creativity locked in these past several months -- this way you all know exactly what to expect every month/every week, and then any additional posts on top of that are a fun bonus. :D Like..a special treat on the afternoon tea menu. ;)

As for the name: I was brainstorming name ideas with Ares, and he was the one who suggested The Tea Room!! (I had ideas like The Toasty Tavern, Afternoon Tea Society, The Cutie Pie Club...) I LOVED the idea of The Tea Room, but also wanted to use it as a chance to honor my sweet late girl, Sophie. So I think this is also a lovely way to preserve her memory and her lil old lady spirit. :')

✸ WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CURRENT PATRONS ✸

I've outlined what actions you need (or don't need) to take, depending on your current pledge level:

• $2 snazzy sprouts: I've unpublished this tier, so new members cannot join it, but anyone with this pledge will remain at this level. You will still get access to ad-free YouTube videos, and the weekly photo-diaries. But if you'd like access to the complete post archive, process posts, the co-working streams, and the podcast, then you'll need to increase your pledge to $5.

• $5 strawberry sweeties: You don't need to do a thing! I simply renamed this tier to Sophie's Tea Room. So you'll be getting everything you were getting (save for the guaranteed monthly sketchbook tours), and now you'll also be getting access to the Monday co-working streams. :o)

• $10 stream sweeties (and above): I've unpublished this tier as well, so new folks can't join it. I would recommend decreasing to the Sophie's Tea Room tier when you get the chance. I'm going to be adjusting the accessibility of previous livestream VODs, so you won't lose access to them after you decrease your pledge. You are, of course, welcome to stay at this higher tier, but please be aware you won't be getting anything extra for the additional cost anymore.

  • There are also still some folks in the unpublished tangerine and postcard poppy tiers -- I won't delete these, as I want to make sure you all still have access to your rewards. But I'll note the same as above -- be aware that you're not getting anything extra for the additional cost.
