Nasu thinks angels can't exist on their own, but rather they wear people like mystic codes in order to manifest. They cannot apparently manifest without a host. He says he got his angel lore from SMT, and he considers them something similar to robots or living mystic codes. For Example Azreal using King Hassan as a vessel most likely latest Grand Battle. Kind of a metratron situation. Or Noah having a Mech Arc - Angel. Or an Angel that is an Ea sword but from God himself. Nasu calls them magecraft angels, who aren't exactly Biblical angels. Interviewer asks Nasu if the real angels exist in TM, he says they are not manifested in the FGO worldline at least. Although he says if you search the deepest archives of the church then there might be something close. He made shit so pointlessly over-complicated that its hard to even describe it, but its basically that in TM angels can wear people and people wear angels, like some sort of thing. For example Metatron Jean has the saint graph comparable to god-Tiamat (not divine spirit Tiamat). Officially Metatron has an infinite number of noble phantasm that it can create at will (God says so). Mashu new's form blocked Jeantron's attack to turn her into a ruler there was no intent to huarm but once Metratron decided to turn them into smear on the ground and spam infinite noble phantasm, SlothTron interfered and saved their ass; Before Kadoc's ultimate sacrifice. Nasu: As far as I remember, the marvelous idea of turning angels into mechs came originally from Megami Tensei's character designer Kaneko Kazuma. Kaneko always said that angels are basically just machines that execute the Lord's commands. Since the angel corps featured in this chapter are part of Metatron's capabilities rather than their own real angels, the mechanical design felt ideal. Interviewer: Does the real deal exist? Nasu: Probably not in the FGO timeline. That said, what I'm saying only applies to the world of magecraft. If you go deep enough in the Holy Church's side, you might find a real Metatron. Angels don't exist for magic, but only in magic. Whatever they are is outside this system like how Outer Gods follow their own set of rules.

Cause they still haven't seen anything concrete with there being an actual limit of servants so more could be summoned beyond 7 and possibly with the alters showing up...Oh, crap will EMIYA ALTER show his Unlimited Lost Works cause that will break them emotionally

I do wonder what gift the Angels gave Archer was as you seem to be keeping it a secret for now but one clue is that it isn't a weapon so perhaps another shroud or necklace imbued with Holy energy something like that would be my best guess. Finally, Rias and Archer have that talk about his Noble Phantasm and what it means specifically for Archer. I do love how emotional Rias got about how it connected directly to him. Archer's story is a tragic one where he continues to suffer even now. Rias will absolutely be heartbroken when she finds out about his Counter Guardian status and how he is bond to Alaya. Aside from that I quite enjoyed the comedic moment where Akeno and Medusa text each other on how to mess with Archer.

2025-11-01 21:40:43 +0000 UTCWait, what was the gift from the Angels to Archer??? I've read it 3 times and still can find it. I could just being blind. Also, Archer very definitely can project divine constructs. I can think of at least 4 off the top of my head and Nasu has mentioned that he would pull out Harpe to kill Rider if he needed too. The issue with most divine constructs is that projecting them would kill him due to cost, not that he can't record them. Also if Shirou can record Jeweled Sword Zelretch from a passed down genetic memory that someone else has, which is literally an impossible item outside of human comprehension, then Archer who is much better at this than Shirou really should have no issues. Sorry, about this minor rant it just annoys me a lot when WOG denies the giant number of examples proving the WOG wrong.

Most definitely finding out that he is technically a slave to the collective consciousness of humanity of his world will break her heart and will ultimately make her wish on the grail (if there is one in this world) to have his contract with Alya end. Also got a laugh at Akeno and Rider being in contact with each other, just to annoy and get back at Archer lol So great chapter and hope for more.
