Hey everyone,
Development has been going very smoothly lately, with lots of new updates to share with you! You can see the new changes in action in the latest devlog video:

If you'd like to try the game out for yourself, you can download it here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V_5Dw6q3PZl_RMWz_Xy8HId3XDUAvxek/view?usp=sharing
Unzip then run the jar file to launch the game. You’ll need to have Java installed on your computer for it to work.
The new features include:
- Watering system - plants require water to grow. Equip the watering can, fill it up at the well, and use it to water your plants.
- Health system - plants now all have health and will die if not looked after well (currently that just involves watering them). Click on a plant (while not holding anything; use the X button in the inventory to stop holding the current item) to see information about its health.
- A few new tools. Some of these help you to farm more efficiently by allowing you to select multiple tiles at once.
- Basic item descriptions in the shops.
- Golden carrot statue for anyone who can reach 10,000 coins! (has to be placed on paving)
A few things to note:
- Admittedly the game currently involves a lot of clicking. I'll be making some big changes to the tool system soon which will reduce the amount of clicking massively.
- Switching to the select tool to click on plants to see their health is currently a bit fiddly. Again, this will be improved in the tool system update.
- The more expensive plants require less watering than the cheap plants, and bring in more profit as well.
- When you close the game it automatically saves your progress for the next time you play. However, there's currently no way to switch saves at the moment so you can basically only have one save. Delete/remove the save file from the saves folder if you want to start a new garden.
If you do give the game a try then I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions. And let me know if anyone can put up with all the clicking for long enough to earn the golden carrot!
Thanks as always for your fantastic support,
Karl
