071. "mood follows action"

Hello my friends!! In this episode, I talk a little bit about how I've been doing post-breakup, a LOT about yarn and my current WIPs, as well as a good chunk about ADHD. It's a bit all over the place (which I feel is expected since I've not uploaded a podcast since August ;;; sorry about that) but I hope you enjoy it regardless!!

Here is that ADHD burnout comic I mentioned:

And their Twitter is here!

Sending all my love <3

I follow you for you so you can do whatever you want! I think you'll lose some but gain others. I'm sending you big hugs!

Heather Kane

I have to say, this is probably my favorite podcast episode so far. Thank you for being raw and honest with us cheyenne

molly

glad you're doing okay Chey! I always love podcasts while I'm cooking or sketching so I was excited to see this. also with Youtube, if you're excited about what you're putting out online, people will watch it, you're allowed to grow and evolve and change your content!

Allison

She’s great! If it helps, the book is SUPER accessible. I can only speak for the physical version but it’s a really short book with 1-3 page chapters, lots of section breaks, and the main points are all bolded. She even has an abbreviated way to read the book if you just need the important bits. I’m absolutely horrible with sticking with nonfiction books until the end and this book is making me wish all nonfiction were formatted like this.

ADHD definitely affects the WHOLE experience, it totally makes sense why we often talk about it and “make it our personality.” I actually just recently realized the connection between my ADHD and the way I struggle to wake up even when I want to - because the executive dysfunction makes initiating the act of Waking Up difficult because the ADHD brain says: hey. it’s easier to just sleep. no getting up… and it was so mind boggling when I connected the dots and it was another one of those It Affects Everything moments.

Rachel Koe

Good to hear from you again Chey! Id love some chatty fiber arts content from you ❤️

Gemma

I follow the author on TikTok!!! i really gotta get the audiobook...

The point about giving yourself tasks reminded me of the book I'm reading now, How to Keep House While Drowning. It's by a therapist and talks a lot about working within your own bounds and with things that are actually functional for you (she also has ADHD so its very friendly for that).

It's so good to hear your voice again! Excited to see more crochet content :)

Rain

I know I'm not very active on here but it was so nice to hear your voice and how even with everything you're going through, you're still managing to hold on to who you are. It's inspiring to hear your strength and struggles. And don't worry about your YouTube, we watch you for you and your art is just a beautiful extension of that. Would love to see your crochet projects and tutorials too as I've picked up crochet since subscribing <3 Excited to see how you grow in your new world! Lots of love <3

hi, chey! first of all, how are you? i hope you're still doing ok. i know a lot can change in 20-something hours, so i hope you're still ok and remain to be so. second of all, as someone who has been following you for 5 years now, i'm so happy with how you're talking about your mental health and everything <3 and i'm happy you're slowly getting back to make content again. i don't say this to put any pressure on you so i apologise in advance if i do, but i miss you. you've been a constant for me for a long time now and i miss you like i miss a dear friend when they need some time away or life happens and i think of them fondly hoping they're doing fine and hoping for them to come back to my life (i hope it's not inappropriate). third (and last), i brought up the subject of possibly having adhd to my 5-year therapist and she actually started the conversation about autism with me, and now i'm on this journey too, so definitely get that checked out! and thank you for sharing the comic, it resonated with me a lot <3 ANYWAY, i'm proud of you for showing up for us! i missed "talking" to you and i'm very excited about the beanie tutorial!! i got into crochetting because of you and it also helps me with my need of having to do more than one thing at the same time lmao. xxx maria

It is so lovely to hear you!! And people are absolutely subscribed for you! This tempts me to start to crochet 💕

Emily

As someone who has been following you for several years now- I would absolutely love to see you lean into your passion for fibre crafts- especially on your YouTube! When you started sharing your crochet projects and tutorials online, I picked up crochet again! Personally, I love seeing creators share their new passions and hobbies even if they are completely different from what they used to be doing because at the end of the day it’s the same artist/person. Lots of love ❤️

Caitlin in Colour

Hi chey sending u so much love <333

Finlay

I would love to see your crochet tutorial, whenever you are ready to launch it. Please take your time. 💗 On ADHD, everything you described is something I've been dealing with for as long as I can remember. I feel exhausted even though I spent all day just thinking about wanting to do something! There's a loooong list of skills I want to learn, movies to watch, games to play~ and so on. It feels very nice to know I'm not alone. Thank you for this heartwarming podcast, Chey. ✨💗🌸

Haley Ahmed

Also so glad your doing better. We're here for you no matter what <3

Isabel

Oh no the ADHD burnout is me rn :(

Isabel

It’s nice to hear you’re able to create and give yourself some time to work through the transition of living on your own. I hope you discover favorite activities for yourself while being in your own space. They can be both soothing and allow you to reset. You don’t owe anyone any info on your relationship with C. I think your Patrons/followers are more-so interested in knowing you’re okay, whatever okay may mean to you. Wishing you happiness and health. 💗

Alicia E

It's all very hard. Relationships are complex and very private. Have been thinking of you so it was very nice to hear your voice❤

Kathymae

Loved the Sophie purrs in the mic in the beginning lol💕 also your talk about adhd and autism super resonated with me! I have an inkling I am on the spectrum and getting a diagnosis wouldn’t necessarily change things, like I’d still take and need my adhd meds and such. But just would be nice to know and understand my brain better. Especially since both my younger brothers have autism and statistically it’s just likely I do as well lol anyways hang in there Chey!! I hope you have a cozy holiday season ❤️

Taylor

it should be on there now!!

cheyenne 🌠

it's there now!! sorry!

cheyenne 🌠

it should be attached now!!! it showed as attached before i hit publish, how weird ...

cheyenne 🌠

It doesn't look like the podcast is attached, Chey!

Sami McDonald

chey i think you might've forgotten to attach the podcast ?

Briar Chambliss

it doesn’t seem to be attached, but that might just be me!
