september sketchbook tour~

Hello hello!! It's our September sketchbook tour 🎉 It's another short-ish one, as I've had a hard time making things lately. I finally finished my small Strathmore mixed media sketchbook which means I was able to crack into my Rendr one :D The fact that it doesn't bleed onto the next page is amazing (even when using Sharpie) but the paper has a slight grayish tinge to it that's gonna take a bit getting used to.

Since I'm going through a really weird phase with my art right now, I'm gonna try my best to be messy and unpretty with this new sketchbook and share with you guys all the ugly gory bits of this weird artistic transformation I'm going through right now. I've reached a point where I'm unsatisfied with pretty much everything I make and I know it's because of all the weaknesses in my art that I've refused to work on for fear of being "bad", but the only way forward is through!! So time to make some ugly art I guess! \

Most of the digital stuff was done on stream which was really fun and also scary — I like how that little jester character turned out!! Maybe it's the ~spooky season~ having an effect on me but I've been very drawn to clown/jester characters of late. It's a mix of the Magnus Archives and also some amazing clown art & make-up that's been showing up on my tik tok, hehe

I've still got this gnarly headache problem, so I've finally made a doctor's appt to get it sorted. I thought it was stress work related, or even lockjaw/TMJ related, but my jaw is really loose today and I've been trying really hard to relax so...not sure why the headache seems to be getting worse 😭Hopefully I'll get some answers!! So I can start making stuff again!

I want to make little clay earrings (I bought the bits and bobs for it last week), and some cute paintings for the holidays (I got some oval shaped canvases for kicks!!) and more digital stuff for the shop...but the physical pain + this depressive episode I've slid into in have made it a bit difficult to do much of anything. I'm trying really hard to listen to my body, and my heart, and move forward accordingly so that I can heal and keep making things. Cause I miss making things ;—;

I love you so much! And I hope your September has been alright. It's Over the Garden Wall season folks!!! Can't wait for my rewatches~~ Stay frosty <3

Love everything!! Take some time. I’m in a similar boat with medical stuff and depression. It can be hard when you know your creativity is right beneath the surface. Hopefully this next month gets better!! 💙
