new video!! my clay friend process! + thank you

WOOOOOO i feel like i've been editing this video for the past like four days??? it took me ages to figure out how to go about editing it and the solution was so simple i feel like a big dummy. my brain couldn't wrap around editing together footage that i would then do a voiceover for, but it finally clicked yesterday so i was able to get this bad boy done today. i'm really happy with it!! i know my last video was also tutorial-like, but i hope you guys enjoy this one as well.

also, as it is #ThankYouPatrons day, i want to take this moment to say, from the bottom of my being, thank you thank you thank you for being here and supporting me. i am not exaggerating in the slightest when i say that you guys literally make my dreams come true every day and help me like. live my life!! you help pay my rent, feed sophie, buy new art and shop supplies —you have had a direct hand in building the life and home that connor, sophie, and i share, and i am so thankful!! i hope i make y'all happy on here. i know last month was a bit wild, and i'm so thankful for your patience and kindness. i just think you guys are the absolute best and you make my heart all warm  🥺 i love getting to share my process with you guys and get ur input on things, and i love the little community we've built.

i'm planning on potentially adding a physical mail tier in the spring (i'm planning on hiring someone!!! so i might have the time to actually do like a sticker club) — i'm not making any promises but it's something i know y'all have been asking for and i want to figure out how to make it happen in a sustainable way (cause ya know ur girl gets overwhelmed fairly quickly haha)

also! i will be taking january off — as in, my shop will be closed and i won't be posting on youtube, but i will still be posting here, so worry not! i'm planning on making a bunch of washi tape and more enamel pins, as well as other products for a spring update, and i want y'all's feedback. i'm also hoping to FINALLY get started on that food illo zine! i'm hoping that by hiring someone next year, i'll be able to pursue some hefty personal projects. POSSIBILITIES!!!

i love you from the bottom of my heart, and i think you are the absolute best!! thank you for everything you do!!

the resin, tbh, is totally an aesthetic choice!! i just LOVE the super glossy look. i'd recommend putting some sort of glaze on them, matte or otherwise, just to help protect them a tiny bit. a crowd fave in the polymer clay community is Varathane water-based glossy polyurethane (https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/varathane/ultimate-polyurethane-water-based/)! it also comes in a satin and matte version, i do believe. again, the glaze doesn't keep it from breaking, but it will help keep fingerprints and grime outta ur beautiful creation!

Hi Cheyenne! Loved the video as always - but I have a question. I'm interested in making some clay friends as tree decorations this year, how vital would you say the resin is, if they're not going to be used out and about? I kind of like the more matte/muted vibe sometimes. Does the paint finish too dusty to touch to just leave them that way, in your opinion? Thanks!

i loved this video so much!! making clay pins is so fun, but yes, sooo tiring and such a long process! i made some lil clay pins/ornaments for my family last year for christmas and they were a huge success. thanks for making my morning a little more happier with this cute video! <3
