I remember you guys saying that you didn't enjoy ren faires now because of the crowds. Have you heard of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism)? Their events are usually not open to the public (except maybe to watch). And they teach and compete in medieval fencing. They do more historical based LARPing, not really any fantasy
