Ask ARA - Reboot
Added 2018-03-08 14:01:00 +0000 UTCAsk ARA had been fun, but it had also gotten a little aimless and overwhelming. A lot of questions, trying to figure out which, or whom, should answer, etc. with no big direction was hard for me, hence the absence. So, I'm going to TRY a new direction that's both more fun for me, and you all... I hope!
With this reboot, the direction will change slightly. It will feature storyline sets. Small, sequences of 1-2 panel comic shots, linked one after another. Like a "choose your ending" adventure. I'll post an art, Patrons will submit questions, ideas, etc. and I'll pick 2-4 of the best ones to then apply into a short poll, and create small stories this way. Hopefully we should see more meaningful character interaction, even if it's not always canon, and the same information, tidbits, amusement as we go.
I think it could be fun, and doesn't add a ton of work. I intend to update it like this once a month. The first set here will be some interaction with ARA, Zeta, and soon, Radoslav. I don't expect people to "know" my characters just yet, that's what this is all about. I'm not asking for fully-fleshed out ideas, but I feel like between the hundreds of you, there's gotta be at least a handful of folks with some suitable wants/inquiries that could make it interesting!
I get that it's rather new-ish, so may have some getting used to. But I think it's more interesting than just "ask a random question", and makes me feel much more involved with you all, my patrons, who fund this blog thing! I have no idea how well this will go or be received, so the only way is to try it out.
So for the comments here, things like "Try on a formal dress!" or "practice your manners?", or even asking questions like "Would ARA have the programming to know how to act in front of the Emperor?" would also lead to a possible idea.

ZTA is the head of the bridge AI and often times the ship/station itself, so she's earned the nickname 'Mother' from others, as she's often ordering people around and knows what to do in emergencies, even the organics call her it.

Have you ever had relations with another crew member? What is your favorite constellation? Favorite environment? Would you rather explore a new planet, or delve into an ancient library?

But I suppose that she might be too busy with her own preparations too answer any questions Ara or the rest of us might have (Rado' is technically Vikna's "boss" after all). Also, do any of the other AI refer to Zeta as "mom" or "mother", or is it just Ara?

2018-03-08 14:34:19 +0000 UTCARA will "study" how to behave around authorities again, and when doing this she will know that all personal should wear formal clothes. The thing is: she studied the last program available, which was released a couple of years ago, and will be using an outfit that completely mismatches her colleagues. This will get the emperor's attention during his visit, would that be a good or bad thing? I don't know... maybe the emperor gets curious, and sees that the old outfit was better (and prettier?) anyway. Just an idea.
