TJ Rodgers of cypress, sunpower, and enphase fame is backing them. Founders are from semiconductor industry.

They got onto the media landscape because ex Tesla CTO JB straubel visited them and said good things about the technology. But he has done subsequent interviews saying they are nowhere near commercialization and haven't proven they can make it cost effectively.
