Undervalued Software Stock Alert

Hey Patreons,

On January 17th, I posted a video about how impressive the financials of VMWARE are (ticker VMW). The share price was $132 and since then went up to $146 in after hourse trading on Friday, February 12, 2021. The financials of this company are really impressive, and the numbers don't lie: 83% Gross Profit; $4.17B Cash. VMware is one of the leaders in cloud computing services, providing companies with server virtualization, cloud computing and cyber security products. Its main competitor is Cisco but it is backed by Dell which owns 80% of the company and is a heavy hitter in the cloud computing sector.

Currently, the share price is $146 but it represents a big undervaluation of the company, which won’t last and I expect the share price to climb to 170-180$ by the end of 2021.

Please note that as with ANY post or video I make this is NOT financial advice and strictly my opinion and may be totally wrong. Do your own research please.  Note that past performance is not a guarantee of future results. Don't assume an investment will continue to do well in the future simply because it's done well in the past.  I currently do not hold a position in this company. I may open a long position in the future.

I don't think VMWare competes w/Cisco. Their main competitors are CTXS & MSFT, at least for virtualization. You can find this at https://www.g2.com/sellers/vmware.

I own DELL (owns 80% of VMW) since it came public a couple of years ago. The hope was always VMW and this will happen after Sep21 when dell spins them out. This will happen as Singer owns 10% of DELL for this reason. My cost basis of DELL is below 50. When the spin happens VMW will pay 16bn special dividend so DELL can pay down debt. So VMW will be loaded with 12bn in debt, but it can manage that easily. VMW shareholders will get that dividend (maybe $35/s), DELL shareholders will get VMW shares and dell shares (ex Div) with less leverage. I think both are great holds/buys here. Look at VMW has had little price appr in the last 3 years... catch up time. I am playing it from DELL

This actually happens pretty often. Part of c-exec comp is stock, so they cash out on regular basis. Founding CEO of ZenDesk for example owns 100M worth of stock of 16B cap company. Lol 😂

I'll still take some time to read up and do the dd before Monday, but pretty sure I'll be getting a position on this one. Maybe 30 to start with.

Tom, when can we expect the BCRX video? (I've done my DD already, have a position). Just curious to see Tom's POV. Also open to discussing with anyone on discord (if anyone's interested - lol)

For companies that don't want to be on public clouds, this is the trusted option.

The numbers look good but within a short time, so many executives departed the company. Heads up!

I have only 10 shares of $VMW at $135 because as that time I had not more buying power. Actually forgot about that stock. Now I might add to my positions if I see some weakness next week. Earnings on 26th of Feb.

The only thing to add is a lack of support for the silicon chipset that Apple is switching to such as the M1, I don’t think it will have a huge impact but worth factoring as it won’t be priced into their recent results. Only affects a few % of VMW customers today.
